I think common sense would dictate that we would've known about a steelbook a month or two ago and not 2-3 days before release.
Even in the extreme cases of the Target DC animated steels we know, at minimum, a couple weeks in advance.

And not having seen any info in this thread about the movie either way, I was previously oblivious as to when it releases and whether or not it has a SB case, and now I know both.

It was a much more useful post than all the messages about trading copies of movies (that can be handled quite easily in PM) and all the bitching and bullying that goes on in here constantly.

Anyway, back to normal posts:

I'm trying to pre-order the DeadPool SB version from Best Buy's website and only some of my local stores are showing up in the list.  Is this because they are trying to limit the number of store-pickup pre-orders per store?

Ugh, that word "bullying", its just being diluted now and just stop with the white knighting, which I am sure the person in question is oblivious to and probably unappreciative of.

His post was as helpful as "other random movie released earlier this year is not getting a steelbook, even though there was NEVER any inkling or indication otherwise" So informative.

This thread is helpful but over the years I realized that a lot of the info comes from the bluray.com forums and is spread here, which is fine but this specific thread should not be someone's only source for steelbook info. Not everything is reported here or reported here timely but hey whatever works for you and helps with the make excuses for starnask campaign, which is now more annoying than starnask himself.

And the offering of steels to trade is helpful because it helps facilitate the trades via pm. The alternative would be a random pm's to each other "hey did you happen to get...?". People are not conducting the transaction details in this thread.

Maybe with all the gripes you have about this thread, it's just not for you anymore?

I maintain that the thread should change, not me.

EDIT - Or at the VERY least, people should ignore his posts if they don't like them. The fact that it isn't hard to do and yet no one does it speaks volumes for the people that constantly comment negatively in here. And before my statement is used against me in here, if those that hate starmask would just ignore him, I bet they would be prone to post more useful things in here than the vitriol that usually gets posted.

Yeah, if a movie is getting a US steelbook, it will most likely be talked about in this thread.  A big, huge, movie like The Revenant would have definitely gotten a mention at its announcement and again this week as people anticipate it.

Anyway, back on topic, as far as I recall the only new US steelbook this week is for the IP Man Trilogy at Best Buy.  $24.99 this week.  Currently sold out for delivery on the website but some local stores have it.

Thanks for letting me know it's up for store pickup again

I think they are working on a fourth movie, plus not much potential for digital copy codes, means I will probably pass on this.

And then go into the store for some other reason and pick one up while I'm there.

I still haven't made it back to Target for the Son of Batman steelbook.

On the other hand, I found a JL v TT steelbook (yay!) and several Gods and Monsters steelbooks.

I now have up for grabs:

1x Bad Blood
2x Gods and Monsters

Son of Batman is gone, but they do have 4 JLvTT. Anyone still need one now that the price is up to $20?

there's not going to be a Revenant steelbook
Thankfully I managed to get my damn dirty paws on a pair of the ultra uber limited bear pelt editions that were part of the swag bag at the release party the other night on the Fox lot. Through my industry contacts, sources, and network I managed to score an additional one for three total. They were made from the fur pelts of a couple of bears that died of natural causes/old age before, during, and after filming...limited only to the number they could make from the pelts of the skinned dead carcasses, and each one ultra unique as a result. Rumor has it, there are even a couple to a few made out of the bears' paws and heads...one of mine has the bear vag I think.

Wow what would the MSRP be of that?!?

For the record I was not asking you to change or even leave, only suggesting with all the grievances you have it my not be the place for you to get steelbook info from and not be so concerned with the "bullying" going on in here.

One person in here should change but over the course of the years here he has refused to take he hints, initially polite allusions, ribbing, etc. And it's not just this thread, his posting is notorious throughout the boards. Some of us choose to have fun - yes FUN - with it. I don't wish ill upon him but do wish he would get a clue, until that day comes he's going to get razzed - he will ignore it, continue posting nonsense as usual, a few white knights will attempt to take up for him, which he will not acknowledge because he is seemingly oblivious to or ungrateful for it, lather, rinse, repeat. The Circle of Life.

We could put him on ignore (I'm not) and you could put those of us who respond to him with humor and sarcasm on ignore. But at the end of the day he could post intelligently and there would be no problem. Anyone hell bent on defending him can be a hero and offer to proof read his posts for him and be his personal editor. If he truly feels bullied he should report it to mods but again his reputation precedes him.

But we're the problem /eyeroll

But we're the problem /eyeroll
Well yes, you are the problem. You're the ones making it hostile in here with your "fun" picking. Like I said before, put him on your ignore list. If you don't, that means you want to continue the "fun" instead of contributing to the thread.

I'm not white knighting anything, I'm just tired of the bullshit in an otherwise genuinely interesting thread.

Considering your magical knowledge of lego clearance I had to read that twice to realize you were joking. Just in case, though, I have 3 stuffed beavers if you don't sell your extra.

In other news, Jungle Book steel is already for preorder on Zavvi's site and it's 3D so if Disney goes the Maleficent route MSRP is probably a good deal for that. Plus it's currently 10% off.

EDIT: Ugh, nvm, 10% is only for currently available Disney SB, not preorders.

The Jungle Book Steelbook

I was on the fence but I decided to pick up a copy of the IP Man Trilogy steelbook since I've never seen any of the movies, and I had a $10 Reward certificate to burn.  There were 2 left at the Best Buy when I left.

Even if you're not into these types of movies, you will enjoy this!!!

The steelbook seems to be in stock online right now.

lol@starmask having a fan

Ugh, "hostile", ok. Again, you assume to speak for starmask. If he has an issue he can be a big boy and say something, until then what you are doing is white knighting, whether you believe it or not.
Now we're just talking in circles because you refuse to acknowledge that if he posted like a coherent adult in the first place, there'd be nothing for some us to poke fun at.
Heed your own advice and put me or others that offend your delicate sensibilities on ignore, report the "abuse" or here's a novel idea - ignore it, pick out the posts in here that you deem pertinent to you and move on with your life instead of attempting to take up this noble cause.
If we're part of the problem, so are you.

I'm not delicate, I'm getting old and thus have little patience. I don't give a flying fuck if you're making fun of starmask or anyone else, I'm tired of reading the negative OT posts.

The only reason I am contributing to the problem is because I'm shitting in this thread like you guys are, and BECAUSE you guys are. Beyond that, I am nothing like you and your cronies. I'm not putting anyone on ignore because I'm pretty sure you've posted things in this thread that are pertinent to the subject of the thread (I can't imagine that you just follow him from thread to thread making fun, but who knows) and maybe one day you will again, but until then expect to see resistance from me and you won't have the last word.

I see the dumb things that he posts, and I either roll my eyes or try to make sense of it and reply as necessary. And by the statement I highlighted in yellow from your post I have to assume that if you see someone that has a different intelligence than you do in real life that you go out of your way to make fun of them, in which case there is a special place for you when you're done here. Either that or you are hiding behind the anonymity of this site. Neither is tolerable.

The statement I highlighted in orange from your post is the height of irony, by the way.

So many assumptions and subjective terms. Whatever you need to justify the white knighting, I'll even concede the precious last word!
We're just taking in circles now anyways. I'm just walking away with this with some previously unknown cronies. Stoked because I've never had cronies before and never really wanted any but damn it you're handing them out I'll claim em. My Little Cronies, if you will.

Thanks.

Did an in-store pickup for the Ip Man Trilogy SB and it came in a tight plastic bag, for lack of a better description, as opposed to the typical plastic shrinkwrap.  There was another one on the shelf that was packaged the same.  I've never seen this before so was wondering if anyone else's was the same.

I just gone done watching part 3, I can see why it there was  a scandal regarding the movie studio in China. Definitely my least favorite out of all of them, the ending of the movie was probably the only good part.

OK, sounds like mine. It was thicker than typical Blu-ray plastic wrap as well. Just curious because I've never seen it done that way before.
I think all were like that as mine was as well. I know I've seen some CD's use that loose type of Y-fold wrapping before, but I've never seen it on a movie before.

I might have extra copy of Batman vs Robin  and Gods and Monsters steelbook available if people are interested

Close to it, I picked up DK deluxe when it was out just cause it was a special Batman. Then decided in last couple weeks I wanted the whole lineup of movies, I'd start with steelbooks first.

If you're missing some DC steelbook try ebay. You're obviously not going to get retail price for it but the prices on some of them are not that bad for new out of print steelbook.

Try the bluray.com forums too. Like blue said, recent release prices aren't too crazy. I think the holy grail of all of them is The Dark Knight Returns deluxe edition steel though. I'd like that one but really don't want to pay crazy prices
