edit: As for Kirby, just stay on the edges and suck people in. You can just fall off and spit em out while still being able to recover.

David Hayter is cool. In addition to voicing the ever badass Solid Snake, Hayter has written the screenplay for the first X-Men movie, and co-written screenplays for X2: X-Men United and the Scorpion King. Oh, and he’s Guyver, which is also awesome beyond comprehension. But, in the gaming world, Hayter is known almost exclusively for his role of Solid Snake in the Metal Gear Solid games.
On the YouTube page for his Metal Gear Solid 20th Anniversary video, Hayter has confirmed to a fan that he is indeed voicing Solid Snake in the next Super Smash Bros. title, Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

In a post by YouTuber “ArchdukeChocula01″, the question was asked if Hayter would be reprising his role as Snake in SSBB. Hayter replied:

I am indeed voicing Snake in “Smash Bros.” I’ve recorded it already, and I believe that fans of both games are going to be extremely happy. It’s very cool. That’s all I can say.

boo to Tourney mode it's a waste of time unless you have online. Then you could watch other matches (maybe even have 'camera mode'?)

Now that would be BRAWLIN'. I can play the computer in melee that's not a 'feature' boo. We got two FSmashes this week so I'm not going to make a fuss. It's a long time to december gotta lotta filler to .. fill.

I don't know anything about Earthbound/Mother so it seems like its just "Ness! Now without hat!". So to those familiar with the series, how will his moves differ from what Ness can do?

LUCAS CONFIRMED *****ES! Which means: (Choose one from the following)
A) With a new Mother character now in, the probability of Ness being booted out (or turned to clone) has increased exponentially.
B) Mother 3 may have a chance of being released in the US. Just maybe.
C) The news ends here, and Lucas' inclusion will have no effect on anything else. The world might-a still spin around.
D) Sonic/Tingle/Bender/Tux/Arthur Dent will be next! I KNOW IT!
 
This doesn't mean Ness is out at all.

Is Lucas the star of Mother 3? I too don't know much about the Mother series, so if he IS..then I can understand people saying Ness is out.

So, going over the news today, there's been a character announced from a Japan-exclusive game, and 2 games came out for the VC that were previously Japan-exclusive.

...now what are they trying to say here?

It certainly seems like a dramatic shift from Nintendo, doesn't it? It opens worlds of possibilities, so I'm excited to see what we get next.

Why would Ness be the clone? That's like hearing Falco is in Melee and assuming Fox will be a clone. If anything it'd be the other way around. To be honest now that they're updating everyone (Mario, Link) I'm thinking the clones(Y. Link, Dr Mario) are going to be a lot more different possibly to the point of not being clones.

As much as I'd love Sonic that would definitely be the biggest megaton to drop on the Dojo. Whether you like/approve of him or not Sonic would be bigger than ZSS, Final Smashes, or Online mode, or even Snake since we knew about him since E3. There's no way the game comes out in december and we get Sonic before Thanksgiving. I'd put money on it.
 
This is really interesting.

I sincerely hope Ness is still around, but I'm starting to think Ike = Marth/Roy, so Lucas = Ness. Of course that is all personal speculation, as I have no idea.

I mean SSBB is just as big of an advertising tool as it is a game to Nintendo, so they know they can increase exposure of various games/characters with it.

2 more agonizing months to go...

Hmm, Maybe Ness will still be in the game. We'll just have to wait and see. Lucas seems like he'll be a clone (in the sense he has "similar" moves and maybe different physics), but I'm just guessing. And is that a new move from Lucas in the third picture? I don't believe Ness had that, cept' maybe his fair or dash attack which was two-handed. But since I'm not an expert on Mother/Earthbound, I'm sure a couple of us would like some enlightenment of the differences between Lucas and Ness (if there are any).

Lucas has a couple of cool poses.

It's looking better now that Nintendo is finally bringing imports to the VC. But it'll probably cost you 1000 Wii points.
 
Well with Sin and Punishment at a Premium on US VC, I am really hoping for the entire mother series to hit VC....I mean what company doesn't like money?

I could however see that Mother 3 would take longer/or be released as a stand alone game because it has not been translate into english yet.

Which really throws a big wrench into the hopes that it'll hit the VC.

I know the GBA is essentially just a modified SNES (haha! LIK TEH WII N GAAMCUBE AMIRITE?), but I really don't think it's going to happen.

Stranger stuff has happened though, so here's hoping I'm wrong.

Not that excited that it's from Mother 3.

Would have preferred a Mother 2 character, but I guess the Japanese will be happy.

It might end up as a port to Wii Ware.
 
That's a good point and possibility.

It calls into question what the planned prices for Wiiware titles are.

I can see all the "SNES GAMES ARE 800 POINTS, WHY DOES MOTHER 3 COST 1600?" posts now...
 
Anyone (strell) know of GC controller extenders?

I had friends over and it sucked sitting so close to the TV.
I guess I never appreciated the wireless controllers of this gen until now.
 
Yeah. Gamestops should have tons of GC extension cords for cheap.

If you can't find any, let me know and I'll go look around.

The starmen.net translation is almost done, they could buy the rights to that.
 
I showed one of my friends this update and he was very excited since his name is Luke and he has blond hair. He was happy that he's "in" Brawl.
 
Another Snake update. This time it's the Shadow Moses stage and a couple of videos.

"How about I capture one of these so we can see what they taste like?"
"Ugh, Snake!"
 
Haha, that Snake/Mei Ling comm was funny. That perverted bastid.

I'm actually glad they chose the younger Snake, wasn't getting to impressed by later iterations.

That one choke attack looks like it could be abused. If Snake is fast enough (looked as fast as Mario), he seems like he can just tech chase.

And when will they reveal how crawling is implemented in this game yet?!
 
Did anyone else catch that little nugget about Wario's fart enabling him to fly in the last snake video?

The stage damage is awesome. The metal gears are awesome. The question mark spotlight is awesome, and the character videos are awesome.

Flying farts? That's biblical.
 
The AC character was proven fake a few days ago =/

Seems like a unique stage and I figured it would have some outside interference, I expected it to be from the HIND but I guess Metal Gears attack instead, REX and RAY. Sakurai mentions a newer 3rd model ("Apparently one other kind appears, too. It’s supposedly a slightly newer model.") which could be whatever Metal Gear is in MGS4, again giving me hope some version of MGS4 could pop up on the Wii, thus making me not have to purchase the PS3.

I didn't get to see the first video, and I only saw one of the CODEC ones (Yoshi) then the site locked up. But that is some classic MGS dialog with MGS humor.

Also flying farts bring back memories of Clayfighter 63 1/3 where Boogerman used farts to fly across the screen.

EDIT: I envision "Samus took her clothes off" to become a new internet meme
