This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items, or raincheck "scams." Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Some info from BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include city, state, store, game, system and price. For example:
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
Super Soup Soufflé, Xbox 360, $4.98

Special thanks to Mephitical for this great tool for locating clearance titles which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance-- often games will not be tagged correctly. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Remember, the lowest known price will be posted since the listed item could be higher or lower at your store. Here are the current deals:

I went to two Targets today. Picked up Tony Hawk Proving Ground for $14 and GRAW for $14. Figured out Target's clearance prices. Games go from $29.99 to $14 to $7. The longer they stay on the shelves, the more the prices go down. I've seen games go from $29 to $14 to $7 in less than a month. Madden 07 for example, same with GRAW.

A recent run today at another local Target shows all the clearance games that I'm interested in are holding steady:

Stuntman Ignition $29.90
Tony Hawk PG LE $29.50
Alien Syndrome (PSP) $19.90

Guess I will be checking again first thing on Monday if the prices have changed or not (always fun to go check and pick up breakfast/coffee before work)
 
Good thing I stopped by, they were redoing the product shelving where I had stashed my Stuntman 360 copies (2 in different spots, just in case) and both were gone. Luckily found one rebadged at the $29 price, other one must've sold. So I was patient and this time slid it under an endcap.
 
So is Ghost Squad really 12 bucks? At my nearest Target they have it on a shelf of games all marked at $29.99, but I didn't get a price check on it.

Ghost Squad prices are very YMMV. Both of my Targets had it at $29.99. I think my stores caught on here beause the one morning I went looking for Ghost Squad, and a manager and 2 associates were scanning them and relabeling them at the $29.99 price. If your Target has GS and it scans as "Item Not Found" SOMETIMES you can get them to sell it at any price BUT as a piece of advice, try finding a console game marked at a low, low price (like $7.xx) and bring that up with Ghost Squad. Have them ring in the $7.xx game first and when GS comes up as "Item Not Found" the associate will usually give it to you for the same price as the other game.

Again this is HIGHLY YMMV.

Edit: Has anyone else seen Overlord on sale at Target?? All of mine don't even carry it.

Around me it's on a shelf marked $29.99. However when scanned it will likely come up "Out of System".

I've tried twice to buy it. First time I was told they couldn't sell it. Second time the casheer called over a guy working checkout who aparently worked in electronics and he told her $49.99.

If anyone has one to sell shoot me a PM, I'm getting tired of the Target run-around.

I scanned the game and as reported if came up "item not found" I figured I would take a shot at it. The cashier scanned it and then asked me how much it was. I told her I found it on a clearance endcap and there were other games there for as low as $4.99. I got a dirty look and then she called for help. Needless to say they called the electronics dept and said it was $29.99.

Should have said $12.99 or $14.99 without all the other talk - especially the $4.99.
 
Question about clearance games at your targets, Where are they located? In the cases with other games or in a separate area. Last time I went to target the only clearance games I could find were in a separate area. But I was wondering about your guys stores.

There's two Targets I regularly go to and both are kinda different, but it seems to be the same in other places.

One has the traditional locked cases with the new games and near that they have racks with games in them, one Target mixes everything up it seems. Clearance and budget titles.

Another one has that same way, but they're more organized and the clearance games are always with other clearance crap (seperate from the budget games), stacked in endcaps usually on their own shelf, but the other shelves may contain clearanced iPod cases and stuff like that, not necessarily in the VG section of electronics (still in electronics though). Like the area with MP3 players at the end of the row there's an endcap with clearance items and games are there as well.

I only have a 360 so its usually slim pickins, but the green of the cases makes them easy to find.

Did Tony Hawk's PG LE finally drop down!?![/quote]Scorch means to say that generally games go on 30%, 50% then 75% and then off to salvage, usually Goodwill. Some stores go to 85% or 90% sometimes. Sometimes stuff is sent to salvage early at 50% especially if it starts at 15% instead. It's all YMMV so just watch the patterns at your Target. He's just grumpy cause he hasn't got Ratatouille yet. Speaking of which check your pms scorch.

Also, THPGLE dropped at like one store in atlanta, but the rest look to still be 29.50.
 
I went to a couple Target stores today and didn't have much luck. Scanned a Final Fantasy III and it came up full price. Scanned a Super Swing Golf and it was $19.98 (still a little high for me).

I saw plenty of toys at 75% off but nothing I wanted. One store I went to had about 50 Tickle Me Elmo Extremes for $8.xx each. I bet they were all gone by closing time.

There's some camping and outdoor gear that's 30% off right now...I'm waiting for that stuff to drop more. I also saw a set of golf clubs for 50% off. I've got my eye on an electronic soft tip dartboard too. It's around $50+ right now at 30% off...I'll jump when it hits $20 something. Same with the fishing lures that are 30% off right now.

The 75% off toy clearance is all over Fat Wallet and Slick Deals so expect that crowd to clean out the clearance video games as well. Anything worth selling on Ebay with their Tickle Me Elmos at least.
 
Whoo, finally found a store with tone $14.97 Tony Hawk Proving Ground LE's!

I've got a question. I can return Target clearance items, right? They won't hassle me or anything because it's on clearance?
 
The Target I went to had one Ghost Squad for $0, but couldn't get them to price it and sell it at the electronics booth as well as at the customer service. I did buy Stranglehold for the PC, then found NHL 2K7 for the XBox 360 at Circuit City for $8.96, so I return the pc game the next day. And GS was put back on the shelve still scanning at $0 which was surprising, I guess they want to sell it, but not price it. Most of the games listed here are still $29.99 except NBA Homecourt with Carmelo for $14.99 which I passed. I probaly hit the Target Sunday morning to check if any changes were made.

Has anyone ever found ANY game on clearance in the NYC area (specifically the Rego Park Target) ?? As many upcs as I've printed/scanned at target the games always show up as regular price.

They were pretty picked over, but I got the two I mainly went for (TH and GRAW). Interesting aside to Tony Hawk, it's in the glass case with the regular priced games but has a red tag below it saying clearance. I got there right at 8am when they opened and there was no one in Electronics to help, but I eventually tracked a lady down and she got it out for me. I wasn't ready to purchase yet as I had some other crap to pick up so she took the games and brought them to the service desk. I went up there after I was done shopping and Tony Hawk rang up at 29.50 (I had not asked the first lady to price it and it was not labelled) but I said to the chick "Oh I thought it was 14.75, thats what that other lady said" and the girl was like oh this must be clearanced, I'll change it for you. So I scored there. I lied blatantly, kind of a try without really thinking, but it worked. Turns out the other lady was a mgr of some sort so the girl didn't even question it.

Be warned, Tony Hawk is pricing at 29.50 there. There's about 2-3 left and they're in the glass case. This is as of Sat at 8:30am.

In the endcap I saw

4-5 GRAW (14.98 not marked though)
1-2 NBA Homecourt (14.98 not marked)
6-10 Marvel Ultimate Alliance (price unknown)
3-4 Def Jam Icon (price unknown)

Hardly anything had the red clearance sticker.

At the bottom were 2 TMNT games, but I didnt bother to check price, I think 29.99 though.

Rest of it was pretty picked over, but I got what I set out for at least.


#2 W. Broad Glen Allen in between Best Buy and Walmart

Absolute crap. I saw 1 copy of Meet the Robinsons (12.48), a couple of Def Jam Icons (I think 29.98) and 1 Stuntman Ignition (29.98) All of those are in the endcap. Most everything is 29.99 if not stickered, I priced Battlestations Midway, but it was out of my range for what Id pay for it.

I hit up the Hull St store the other day, and I wasnt impressed, but I neglected to take a mental impression of what they had.
 
Oddly enough I found a copy of Red Steel at mine, immediatly took it to the cashier who was dumber than a brick. He hemmed and hawed about it for awhile, offering it to me for $20 and basically said "forget it, that game is ancient", so he finally cracked and went down to $10. Figured it was worth it for something at that price, since I missed it clearanced out awhile back.
 
Oh to add to my last post I did see a BUNCH of copies of Ghost Squad at the Glen Allen store. I don't have a Wii but I notice thats a popular title here. No sticker though, so I'd assume 29
 
One Target around my area had one copy of Trauma Center: Second Opinion a few days ago for like $13 and copies of the Super Paper Mario official strategy guide for $3.00.
 
I wonder why Target drops clearance stuff out of their system the way they do. It seems like they're setting themselves up for drama every time one of their old clearance titles shows up in the stores after being buried behind Veggie-Tales DVDs for 6 months. I mean, keeping it in the system as one line of data at the final 75-95% off clearance price would be much simpler (I would think) than playing "The Price is Right" with every customer who discovers a forgotten copy of Red Steel.
 
I had been following the decrease in the clearance price for a particular game over a few weeks. I found the game with a sticker with a clearance price higher than the previous week. I scanned the game and it came out $0.00. I went to a clerk and explained that I saw it discounted at a lower price the previous week. She said you can have it for that price because the zeros means it will be donated if no one picks it up. So, I decided to do a little test. I took an item that came up zeros. Did my explaination to a clerk. It works. I got it for the price I stated. I've only tried it once. This is probably a huge YMMV.
 
Finally got ghost squad. I asked and when scanned the lady at electronics said, wel it's obviously on clearance - it's probably $20. I said it retailed for $30 and she said OH, well then it's half off, so $15.

I took it at $15.
 
Report from the new Target on Rt. 23 N near Butler, NJ:

Nothing at all. The shelves where wiped clean of everything, the budget title racks were almost completely empty.

Oh well, maybe next time.
 
Found Star Wars: Episode III for the original Xbox last night for $1.28 at my local Target! Final Fantasy III DS was still showing up at $29.99 though...

Although Ghost Squad for Wii was on the same endcap, it did not have a price when I attempted to scan it myself. Someone in the electronics department remembered it as being released at $29.99 and wanted to manually reprice it at the register for that price, but maybe someone else will have better luck?
 
Not a lot of luck at St. Augustine, FL Target. TH rang up $29.98. :( I checked GR for the heck of it, and that scanned at $14.xx. I didn't bother picking anything up since I was really only semi-interested in THPG.
 
Here's a weird one, I saw Ghost Squad on clearance, and purchased it for $10.51. The weird thing is that the sticker says AS IS-Missing 1 of 2. Now the game is sealed, so I was wondering if this was suppose to be part of a set of games, or a packin of whatever. Does anyone know what this is all about?

I haven't opened it because it is a gift, but I don't want to give them something defective if I can help it. Can anyone confirm how many discs are suppose to be in the package?

I think some people were saying that Ghost Squad used to come packaged with another game, so that's probably why it's one of two.

Check your local Goodwill. Target is known to dump games there if they don't sell at 50% - 75% off.

man mine goes to the salvation army an its usually like 50%-150% higher than the target clearence price.

I bought Stalker for 7.xx

then a week later saw two copies at SA for 17.99!!
 
I picked up Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom for $12.48 at the West Madison WI Target... the thing was that it might have been less. The teller had to enter the price at the register. Might be worth people having the game scanned by one of the handheld scanners.

BTw, was just at the Flower Mound, TX Target, and they have "revived" their clearance area. They had a bunch of Tony Hawk Proving Ground LEs (360) for $14.98... also GRAW 2 $14.98. Godfather PS3 was $24.98 still.
 
wow my target sucks they have none of these games and none on clearance (trust me i checked prices)... anyone get any good deals in northern NJ, I'm in North Bergen and thinking of going to the Edgewater, Clifton, Riverdale, Jersey City and a few others next week to check things out but wanna know if anyone has had luck anywhere there
 
Went to a Target in Cleveland with a friend and both of us were able to get Ghost Squad - Wii for $12.46 each. They had to look it up in the system for the last price sold because it was ringing up not found. Luckily, they were willing to do that as it was marked $29.99 on the shelf.
 
Found a copy of Barrow Hill for $5 at my local Target today. Not sure what that game generally goes for these days, but it was a good enough deal for me to not pass it up.
