Thanks to Skube and Oxidative for this coupon. Important things to note-- this will make games ten dollars or under free, but it's advised to buy another item, such as a pack of gum.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

Just get an employee over there and ask them to open up the case so you can look at a game. When they do tell them you want them to scan it to check the price or just take it to a scanner to check it yourself. If they wont do that for you then get a manager and complain. That is just laziness if they do not want to check a game for you or take it out of the glass case.

I went to a store and they had Folklore for $59.99, called an employee over asked him to take it out and check it and it rang up $14.xx... Score!

And for some reason at all the Targets around here that DO have the keypad, they are broken on 90% of the units in the store. It's always the same problem like someone pushed the numbers in so hard that they are broken and you can't reach them through the holes. It's got to be some kind of design flaw. Usually the closest one to electronics that actually has a keypad that works is in housewares or something.

I picked up Universe at War for $12.48 and the Logitech PlayGear Amp Speaker for the PSP for $9.98 last night at the Target I work at.

I've tried to stay away from the clearance endcaps as of late since I always find something to buy that I don't need.

On an unrelated note, I know it's not clearance and all, but I noticed last night that the price for GW:EOTN was corrected and is now $29.99. I'm glad I jumped on it for $10.

That IS laziness. A few weeks ago, I asked a Target employee the same question. He busted out his price gun and through the glass, scanned the bar code on the shelf which gave him the price. He never had to open up the case.

I picked up two games from Target's open "racks", and then had an associate open up the case and snag a game in there, too. However, he wouldn't let me continue shopping and place it in my cart. He said he could hold it for me or I could pay for it now, but I couldn't leave the electronics section with it. Huh? I mean, I can grab CDs or other games right from the racks and continue shopping, why can't I do that with the ones in the case?

That must have been the copy I picked up from the Target at McKnight Rd. for $30, but I returned it to the Cranberry Target (since it's closer). I decided I didn't have time for it since I'm trying to clear out a backlog.

A Target I went to last night had Two Worlds on 360 clearanced at an initial $41.98, needless to say it's going to need to drop considerably further before I even think about getting it.

They also had PGR4 at $41.98, I thought that had univerally dropped to $39.99. I guess maybe the clearance price starts based on the original retail price.

I'm curious about how the price scanner guns work. I would assume that it's tied into the same system as the registers. But I once had an employee price-check a game with the gun and it came up $14.98. I decided to buy it, but when it rang up at the register it was actually $7.48! Weird.

Damn the 2 Folklore I had my eye on for a month are now gone. Went in on monday and they still scanned for 29.98. I go in today enter in the DPCI and it rings up 14.98. Walk over to electronics and they are both gone, big surprise. The guy that scanned em for me on monday was there and said his manager went over there about 1-2 hours after I was there and marked them down. So i guess the mark down dont happen automatically or if they do, they mark down at random times during the day. Oh wells. atleast i did walk away with Blue Dragon 2 weeks ago at 14.98 which I wanted more anyway. Also saw VP: party animals for 14.98 and Spiderman:FoF for 12.48 passed on both.

Yeah, some of the stores I've been to have the old keypads where all the numbered pads are broken. I've gone around it by making my own UPC codes and just running the codes under a scanner to see the latest price. Saves a lot of time. Just go to a site like www.half.com and look up a game title, and copy the UPC number into a site like http://www.upcdatabase.com/itemform.asp and voila - instant UPC label. Just print the website page or copy/paste it into Word.

At the vast majority of stores all of the items from that drop were salvaged after a couple weeks at 50% off. A very small amount of CAGs got them at 75% off.

I have had great luck this week at Target. Just went to my local one, and found a copy of NHL 2k8, for $14.98, this for the ps3. It was the last copy, this is the Target outside of the Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem, PA. Also they had Spider-man FoF for $12.48, Simpsons marked 24.98 for 360. They also did have numerous other clearance games but were not priced. NHL 2k8 was not priced either, but I just checked the DCPI number on a scanner and saw the price.

Actually, that is a good point which didn't cross my mind. In the past, sometimes a clearance item doesn't show a price on the aisle scanners, but it would show up on the little gun. My guess is that the gun carries a portable database of all prices --- so, it may not necessarily be in sync via real-time with the live database.

I was looking in the clearance section for NGS, where it was before, and then I decided to look over in the PS3 case. The guy working electronics was there with a couple of older teenage boys. They were talking about R6 Vegas 2.... and then the guy asks me if he can help me find anything. I figure, what the hell, and I say I'm looking for Ninja Gaiden Sigma on the PS3. He proceeds to tell me that's on Wii, not on PS3... and then asks the two teenage guys if they'd heard of it on PS3. The one says "No, and I've been watching it pretty closely." I then proceed to tell him, yes, it IS on PS3. He then proceeds to humor me and says he'll check the discount game aisle, not there, which I already knew... and then he tells me that they have it on Wii, says sorry, goes back to what he was doing.

Now I can only assume they acted like they did because I'm a woman - and it really annoyed me that he kept trying to apparently push the Wii on me... when I never even said I had a Wii... like that must be the only thing I own since I'm a girl? |

The guy wasn't an ass at least, but boy it annoyed me... I'm not even sure if any of them OWNED a PS3 - I could have swore I heard the guy that was "watching it pretty closely" say he didn't.

LOL my girlfriend takes me along when she goes to look at electronics so people don't try to talk her into buying things she doesnt need. Kinda sucks that people treat girls/women that way in certain shopping situations (car/electronics), specially considering that my gf knows alot more about electronics then the majority of the people working retail.

And so I don't digress too far off topic, I also went for Crackdown, and it's 29.98 here. PGR 4, Stranglehold, and Two Worlds were the same price. Mine was cleaned out of all the decent PS3 clearance titles. I think Crackdown has been at $30 for awhile here... I'm going to have to check back on Monday to see if it goes to $15.
