Thanks to Skube and Oxidative for this coupon. Important things to note-- this will make games ten dollars or under free, but it's advised to buy another item, such as a pack of gum.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

Many on here lately seem to be going the FatWallet/SlickDeal route and gouging on price and shipping. That's why I brought 'gloom' into this thread, because I've been offered games just recently for a mere 100% or more OVER what the person offering paid.

NO THANKS is my usual kind response, when I'd rather say 'fuck you'. But, I try to remain civil, despite my disdain for such gouging.

So many people find these games for $3-5 or so and then offer them up for Ebay-ish prices. THAT is what is sickening, especially if they already HAD the game(s) and weren't making a special trip to some store 20-40 miles away JUST to get that ONE game.

Then, I could see compensating them a bit for gas and time(if they make the special trip), but not 100% of their purchase price and then some.

The way some people quote prices for gas and time and what not, you'd think they're driving a Humvee using Ultra Premium unleaded at $4.50 a gallon or something.
 
So how come some targets the pricing isn't ringing up? I went to one of my local ones and they were out of Simpsons for 360. Figures. So I went to another target down the road and it was $35. I bought it anyway and figured I'd do a price adjust. Should I take it to the first target to see what it scans in as? Also tried to buy Jericho for 360 and sadly it was ringing up at $49.99 still. Grrrr.

You shouldn't have. It's an awesome game, its worth the price at 59.99, let alone 14.98. Trade in value at gamestop/eb has bottomed out, though. They are only giving 16 for it. However, its ebay value new/sealed seems to be in the 25-35$ range. Of course, you could have always picked up a few for swap fodder here or for other CAGs that dont have any luck finding it in their areas.....

If my targets had a stack of folklore, id buy every single one.
 
Went to two Targets today just by chance (once for myself, and once with my sister later). Picked up The Simpsons, Viva Pinata: Party Animals, and the wireless PC receiver.

Grrrr.[/quote]Price drops are universal for the most part (some salvage after 50% off, some after 90% off, but the great majority after 75% off), but they don't occur at all stores at the same time so one store in your area may have the Simpsons at 30% off = 34.98 and another may have it at 50% off = 24.98 and another may not even have it clearanced yet. The OP reflects the lowest price reported and if you look through just the last couple of pages you'll see different prices reported for the same game on several occasions and sometimes lamentations about it. BTW, most Targets don't price adjust especially clearance items. Also, Jericho for PC and PS3 have been clearanced and are 75% in most stores by now, but the 360 version you checked is not on clearance at all. I have a hunch it will go on clearance soon though.

I got Viva Pinata Party Animals today too. It's nice how the price keeps dropping, first $50, then $30, and now $15.

Yeah, for $15 I couldn't pass it up. I missed out on the $9.99 amazon deal a few weeks back. I hear the mini-games are fun. I'm also happy about The Simpsons. I was wanting to pick it up but was debating hard at $40.
 
the closest Target to me just dropped Folklore to $14.98, so I picked one up while I was there shopping. The $29.98 one will be going back next time I go to one. Blue Dragon also dropped to $14.98 there, but I already have it for that price. Now I am waiting for (hoping) that Quake ET will drop down...it is still either $27.98 or $29.98.

Plenty of Viva Pinata PA, but they just clearanced it and it is $29.98.
 
Is it me or do targets just chuck clearanced games on a end cap and stick prices on them? i have seen clearanced games from 30% to 70% off range. Mine has a bunch of F1 and Stranglehold but they are tagged $29.99.

you should definitely scan them if they've been priced like that for a long time. they are supposively suppose to keep changing the sticker prices on them each time it changes in their system.
 
Most clearance stuff gone - I saw a lot of clearance tags by empty areas on shelves but I do remember the following still in stock:

I have a PS3 but came up empty - no Folklore

Haha, all the clearance games at my local Target are now in the cases. Most likely an after effect of everyone hiding them until they drop.

No, that won't work. They have to scan the game in order to reduce the price. If all copies of a game are hidden, it'll stay the same price until it's found.
 
I was able to score a copy of folklore for 14.98 in Altoona,IA. They also had copies of NHL2k8 and College Hoops 2K8 for 29.98. Any idea on when those will drop again?

I really don't think that's true. At my Target they only had one copy of a particular release that I had hidden for weeks and every time I went to the store I scanned it and hid it in the same spot. When the people on here reported that it finally dropped to $7.98 I checked the spot I hid it in and it rang up for that price, even though it was more expensive previously. It was also the only copy left.

Actually they just update the UPC in the system. The red clearance tag on the games is for the customers to know that the game is on clearance and not just on sale so they buy it instead of putting it down and coming back later. So, hiding games WOULD work. Unfortunately, there were no decent games at my Target to hide.

Well, it's been said by others time and time again throughout the "Target Clearance Threads" that this is the process in which Target updates their prices. Considering there doesn't seem to be an exact structure that these prices follow that's across the board (perfect example: Ninja Gaiden Sigma was $41.98 at my local store until Monday, when it was $14.98. Other stores, however, went from $41.98 to $29.98, to $14.98).

While I don't have explicit proof that Target updates their prices by scanning a physical copy of the product during the process, it would seem to be in tune with the erratic pricing, and the common consensus that Target does just that.

He means that the game will have to be FOUND to get an updated clearance price sticker slapped on it. If everyone is hiding the games, and an employee finds it, it goes back on the shelf. If that game was hidden with a 29.98 sticker price on it, then that stays there until the next round of markdowns when all the games are scanned anew.

I think that's what he's trying to say, anyways.

No matter what the sticker says, if the game scans for 13 bucks at the register, its 13 bucks.
 
Target in Wilkes-Barre, Pa had absolutely nothing. No Folklores at all, actually most of their ps3 games were gone alltogether. The only had about 12 ps3 titles, and had those games spread out to make the case look full. Had some crappy looking racing game for the ps3 for $30.
 
Isn't HS one of the more popular PS3 titles? If so, i don't see a PD any time soon. Did that guy over at SD post any pics of his supposed HS discount?

You mean that F1 racing game, right? I wonder if Wilkes-Barre has their copy of Shadow Of The Collossus still, since I'm tempted to try and return/rebuy the one I paid $14 for to try and get it for $10 this weekend.

Went back to the lucky target and got 3 copies of Folklore to trade, i ignored most of the pms i got yesterday...first pm said they would paypal 15 dollars the second said madden 2007 360 for it...so i just deleted them all.

If you make a reasonable offer pm me, also there are still 12 more i can go get if there is enough interest (reasonable interest).

So what do you consider a reasonable offer then? The guy that asked $15 for one is not unreasonable seeing thats what you paid for it. I would say $18 shipped for games you paid $14.98 for is fair seeing this is CAG.

Buying a bubble mailer and shipping could easily put up $2.00 & $2.00. Fees throw in another $1.50, $1.50 for tax along the way, and maybe a few cents to cover all the time and travel, maybe?

$21 absolute minimum I think.

Well to offer 2 cents more then I paid for it is rediculous. For decent shipping and insurance 3 bucks, paypal fees, gas....I wasnt trying to be greedy but 2 cents is an absurd offer.

I prefer trades but what ever works for you, i go to school about 30 miles away, and i pass about 5 targets on the way there so i can get alot of stuff but not NGS, BD or folklore. PM me.

I would much rather trade for another ps3 game (besides the ones I already have or old sports titles) or a Wii game.
 
damn 12 copies of folklore at that price? I would take one shoot for $20, it'll help boost your itrader too lol oh and you can save yourself $5 if you grabbed two copies and used the $5 off target coupon. That'd make it $25 before tax for two. let me know lol. I've used the coupon a couple times hah

Can someone please tell me the different instances that may occur as to how Target deals with Clearance Games? I went to 2 Targets, one of them had their clearance games in a small section separate from the regular game section no where near it in another aisle. The 2nd Target just put clearance stickers on the games no matter where they were located & they had a few clearance games by themself on an endcap of aisle as well. I'm thinking that maybe I am missing out on finding the clearance games?

As with clearance games in general its YMMV.

I have 4 targets in about 5-10 mile radius and one little bit out of the way but someimtes I'll drop by.

2 of the stores its the same deal they put all the clearance games on the endcap with stickers.

1 of hte store puts some games behind the glass some at an endcap.

1 puts them all behind the glass. accessories they leave at the endcap.

the one that's out of the way puts them on an end cap but instead of near the game section its gets placed all the way over near the dvds and books and put books and other crap at the game section.

So Long story short, you'll just have to look around your entire store. soemtimes you can't find something because either someone horded them all, your late or store just didn't have it to begin with.

You're dead on, $20-$21 is far, even GENEROUS for buying games that are 14-15. That's why I tell people that if they see a game for 20-25 at their target just to buy it because it'll end up being that much anyways after shipping, gas, little extra to the person who's willing to ship it.

Those estimates are all fine and dandy, unless you're talking about me. I wait till a game is $2-5, which sadly most of the ones from Target don't make it that low before someone snaps them up or they get salvaged. My state's tax rate is 6% and I have bubble mailers from when Kmart clearanced out their USPS stuff a while ago, they cost me a meager .15-.20 each.

So, while those potential costs may reflect some peoples estimates(you can subtract the Paypal fees too, since I don't take it or pay with it), it definitely does NOT apply to me.

Matter of fact, this is why I prefer to just straight up trade, since many seem to 'gouge' imo on here anymore. If I wanna pay 2x what you paid, I'll go to Gamestop and at least know for certain they're fuckin me on price. But, if someone paid $4-5 for a game and wants $15-20 for it from me, I've said it before and I'll say it again, they can stuff it.
