Thanks to Skube and Oxidative for this coupon. Important things to note-- this will make games ten dollars or under free, but it's advised to buy another item, such as a pack of gum.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

For anyone looking in the Kansas City area the store off of Chouteau and the one near Metro North mall both had the pink & blue 360 battery packs. I also saw a Pokemon Gamecube system skin on clearance for like $3. I thought it was funny because it was a preorder item from several years back. Like io said earlier Target must be doing some spring cleaning in the stockroom and finding odd stuff.

The Central Ave/Colonie Target in NY had some PC games marked as clearance with the red stickers. I picked up the Total War: medevil 2 Kingdoms expansion for $8, they also had a few copies of Pirates of the Burning Sea, and one or two other games but for the life of me I can't recall what they were, I already had both of them. Prett slim pickings either way. The console section didn't appear to have anything marked down, but that whole section was ravaged, almost nothing on the shelves even for games not on clearance.

Wow I just called one of the Target's near me and asked if I could check a few prices with DCPI number. The associate says to me, "I don't have one." Brilliant, just brilliant . Maybe get off your fat ass, put down the cheetos, and get one? That's what I would do but then again I don't work at the customer service experience that is Target.

I did a price check by DCPI over the phone last night. I just had to wait a few seconds while she got the system ready to look it up. This was the 'operator', as well, not someone working in electronics or elsewhere.

Other than that, they had some bleh sports for PS3 for $14.98 and 4-5 copies of Boogie for PS2 for $7.48.

If you are for sure getting a PS3 why not just buy the games in advance. At these prices its worth it. You also have a 90 day return policy so if for whatever reason you dont you can always return them. Lastly when you get a new system to have several games to play on it is alot more fun then just have a single game.

BTW My Target did not have anything good on clearance. All the LAIRS, OB, Medal of Honors were all gone. The Simpsons Game (ps3) was still $24.98.

Yeah, I just got my 360 Elite a couple of weeks ago and I already had like 17 games for it. I had thought about getting a 360, then when I saw Ninja Gaiden II, I knew for sure I would be getting one. I started buying the games because I was able to get good prices on them. I've never had to pay more than $20 for a 360 game, and Gears of War, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Blue Dragon, and Forza 2 for only $9 each brand new was a great deal and totally worth it.

Anyways, back on topic, I was able to get The Orange Box PS3 for $9.98 and THPG PS3 for $7.48 using the $5 cpn and return/rebuy method. The Target near me was cool with it both times, I'll try it again on Kane & Lynch next, then on Lair.

See, I originally had planned on grabbing a 360, so I bought Crackdown from another CAG for $20 shipped. But, since I ended up grabbing a PS3, I have NO NEED for Crackdown, so I've been bugging the crap out of my one friend whose family has one to grab it for $20, just so I don't lose anything on the deal.

But, since said friend also went with me to get GTAIV during the Wally World midnight release and their family is busy with that game right now, it's gonna be a LOOOOOONG time till I get them to grab Crackdown. By then, the Xbox720 might be out. LOL

So yeah, buying games for systems you don't yet own is NOT a good thing unless you're 100% certain you're going to end up grabbing the system. Especially if it means you're sitting on multiple games, some of them costing $15-20 each. Now, if they cost only $1-5 each, that might be different, but I'd still rather have the $$$ than the games collecting dust.

Oh and as for me, I still can't bring myself to pay over $15 for a current gen title, unless it's something I REALLY want, like I did with GTAIV. I still can't understand how people will pay a premium for a sealed game, just to have it in their collection to go 'awww ain't it pretty'.

I agree. I do not think I have paid MSRP for ANY game. The last game I remember paying over $20 was Final Fantasy VIII. I preordered it for $40 and got a mini 'Squall' toy, poster and a $15 cert for actionace.com (now called actionHQ) which I used to get a Japanese import Goku figure.
