This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

No, but I keep checking. They sure do get stubborn over certain clearance... I still remember when Burnout Dominator for PS2 sat at the same price FOREVER.

Most stores usually do them Monday or Friday mornings. However I've seen them done throughout other days of the week before.
 
My Target is either not clearancing stuff anymore or some other CAG is beating me to all the games. I haven't seen anything there for over 2 months.
 
If anyone cares, the Culver City, CA Target has The Club for 12.48. Hulk and Ironman for 30.00. They had Burnout Paradise in the end cap clearance thingy too, but didn't check the price. All 360 stuff. Scene it was still full price it seems though too :( Somebody hook me up!!! ;)

For some reason I just went into a Target doing their electronics markdown today. She hadnt made it to EOJ yet, but I grabbed one and its down to 17.48. Picked up all 5

I found some X360 (2) Pink and (4) Blue Battery but they don't want to sell it to me because it's a salvage item. And that store has at least 10 Call of Duty 4 for PC. All is "Item Not Found".

Should I wait on the dumpster on the back of the store tonight? :)

Nope, hit up the Goodwill closest to the Target a few weeks from now, where you'll likely find all that stuff at roughly the 50% off the original Target price. Enjoy! ;)
 
Or you can find the young teenage girl cashier and flirt a little and tell her they were $5 and they will usually ring it up for you at that price
 
My store finally had Condemned 2 for $9.99 after Monday's markdown... I remember a couple weeks back seeing it for $29.99... Glad I waited ;-)
 
Damn my cheap ass. I completely missed the boat on getting these deals right.

I picked up GTAIV at launch for my (now ex) girlfriend and I to play for $60 and we never even opened it. I saw a few of the the GTAIV packs at $44. I'm so pissed.

Spotted Lost Odyssey but didn't see the clearance price. Scene it still had the 41.xx tag on it. I bought Scene it for 25 from Sears. Thankfully the ex gave me Lost Odyssey.

Some Kane & Lynch for $10 and The Club for 12.48 but I didn't pull the trigger on either.

All of this was the Super Target in Vernon Hills across from the mall. Man, I wonder if I should buy the GTA IV pack anyway? fuck
 
Unfortunately my Target has EoJ for $35. Too rich for my blood, for a game I'll probably suck terribly at.
On a similar note, they have a copy or two of Unreal Tournament III for PS3 for $20. As someone who has never played the series before and is new to FPSes, would this b e a good buy?

UT is one of the "fastest" FPS series out there, so if you're unsure, just prepare for super-fast movement, out-of-nowhere deaths, and a lot of frustration as you acclimate yourself to the game. i appreciate the UT games for what they are (high-speed "run and gun" gameplay"), but they're just too fast. i prefer the CoD/Halo/CS type FPS games -- even Quake III was a little zippy for me. but then again, i'm a casual FPS player.
 
I just picked up the last copy of Kane & Lynch for 9.98 at the Target in Norman, Oklahoma. Also got Kingdom Under Fire for 9.98 and The Club for 12.48. There was still a copy of each last time I checked.
 
Do you mean Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom? If so, damn, my Target always seem to run out of copies. Heck, They had 3 Condemned 2 games like 3 weeks ago and I had bought one. The following week the other 2 were gone. Damn customers I say. I know I could have gotten them cheaper, but them people at my area flock to those 360 quick and don't wait for them to drop further in price.

Come play at CAG night on Mondays and you'll have fun. It's just for fun, so you can ease into the game if you're curious about it.
 
Decided to take the hit to my gas tank and trek to the Highland, IN Target before work today.

Snagged:
:360: Kane & Lynch - $9.98

Seen:

:360: NBA Ballers: Chosen One - $9.98
:360: MX VS. ATV - $12.xx

Snagged the last copy of Kane & Lynch on the clearance endcap, which was actually at the end of the book aisle. All three of those up top were only one copy apiece as well. There were plenty of Madden 08's, though.

BTW, NBA Ballers was ass. Had that have been even a remotely decent game, I would've snagged it as well.

I also got to thinking that perhaps maybe we could do a bi-weekly get-together of people who snag these games on clearance and are looking to snag online co-op or multiplayer achievements. Figured it would be a nice way to shoot the shit with fellow CAGers and have a blast. Any thoughts on that?

FYI ~ There's another Target in St. John which would probably be the same distance as the Highland store for you coming from Valpo. I was there last night though and they didn't have anything worth while (Skate for $29.98). Have you come across either Sate or Lost Odyssey for the magical $14.98 price at any of the stores?

Is MX VS. ATV worth the price. Looks pretty decent.

BTW I picked up Kane & Lynch on the cheap and started playing it last night. After how much flack the game got, I was surprised how much I liked it. Worth the $10. Too bad the co-op isn't online though.

I still haven't even broken the seal on The Club and Kane & Lynch yet, might do that today.

Completely forgot about the St. John store, too. At least I know I'm not missing much out there, though. I have not seen Lost Odyssey or Skate at the $14.xx tag yet. I'm actually heading back into downtown Valpo to bother my pal at Quizno's and make a double-take at the Target over there in case I missed something. I actually posted up a little while back on what I had seen earlier in the week at both the Valpo and Merrillville stores.

I'll report back if I see anything that magically appears today.

If you guys need anything, let me know, as I pass up the Highland and St. John stores on my way to school Mon-Thurs. I'll hide stuff for you! I only want Wii and GBA stuff so I'll gladly put games aside; it'll be better than making that long trip out here for nothing!

Oh, and don't forget to go to the scanner and scan the games. They seem to be lazy about updating the prices.

I didn't have chance to get to my local Target until today, so I didn't expect to see anything worthwhile, but I picked up the following:

:360: Scene It? $14.98
:360: Grid $14.98
4 boxes of 10 duracell AA's for $2.48 each

I hadn't planned on getting Grid, but they only had 1 copy so I couldn't turn it down at that price.

They still had a LOT of Scene It's left, but I thought $14.98 seems like a decent price and I can always keep it unopened and take it back it they have some left at a lower price next week.
 
I just cant understand after at least 6 weeks of scanning the same game it has not dropped and there are 5 of them all at the same price... did that one just get lost in the mix or something?
 
No changes at the Valparaiso location, but they still have a few copies of Lost Odyssey left behind the glass (maybe 4 or 5). I'll give it another week and try again.

I'll have to remember to start scanning the games as well.

I work in Illinois, so there's another two stores I can cover as well (except that Cook County tax is a bitch!)

If you're lucky, Scene It will drop 85%, making it roughly 9.98. But I wouldn't hold my breath on it, 85% off seems to be pretty hard to come across. 75% is the only sure thing. I also think 85% off is dependent on whether or not they started the item for 50% off or not. That way, the clearance cycle would go 50% off, 75% off, then 85% off. Normally it's 30-50-75. But, please someone correct me if I'm wrong on that assumption.

I believe you are right. Unfortunately, when I first saw Scene It go on clearance at my local Targets, it started at $41.98 (30% off), so I'm pretty sure the lowest it will go is $14.98, which would be 75%. They have a TON of them at one Target (like 30ish copies in multiple locations), so they could be around for a few weeks. It will be interesting to see how low they go.

I always thought after 75% it dropped to 90%, and at that point the price ended with a $X.X4 it meant that was the last drop. But I haven't seen any of those in a long time. So either they have stopped doing that, or everything is getting scooped up at 75% off.

I would only pick up gamestops version at that price. Because it comes with a blu ray movie. I rented it and beat everything in under 6 hours. After that theres some survival modes and such but really youll have probably had your fill by then. The online on the 360 was laggy and more problematic is EVERYONE wants to be Broly. Which destroys the balance.

Id get it at 15 just to play with friends but 30 I think is too high for what it is.
