This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Anderson SC Target had about 20 Scene Its for 29.98 for weeks. They dropped to $15 and magically every single one of them disappeared. I'd bet money on a hoarder, as there are lots of them in the area thanks to Anderson County's "Jockey Lot - The South's Largest Flea Market". I often see things for sale at the Jockey Lot that still have remnants of the Target clearance sticker on them.

Not a game, but I picked up a Belkin Compact Surge Protector with 8 outlets (2130 joules protection) for $8.74 (080 00 0138). I currently have all of my game machines plugged into one.

I also overheard a target employee talking to a customer checking out the clearance section. They had a Magnavox portable DVD player marked at $120 or something. He told the guy that the price was wrong and it will ring up at $50. He purposely didn't change the sticker, so he could pass the savings to select customers.
This is why you should always price check the clearance merchandise.

i picked up one of those magnavox portable dvd players today for 49.xx. also snagged a 160 WD Mybook external hdd for $17.xx in Jacksonville Fl

Well, dammit, I thought there had just been nothing happening at Target recently since the thread disappeared off the bottom of my subscribed list. Turns out FoS just made a new one . We really need to have a feature on CAG that automatically resubs you to a follow-up thread - I don't know how many deals I've missed because of this...

Anyway, I was at Target last night and all the cheap games everyone is getting are all still at the 50% price (Scene It - though they didn't have any anyway just checked the DCPI, Lost Odyssey, Bourne, Grid, Beijing, etc - ALL still $29.98 or thereabouts). I know I need to check today if I want to get any of that stuff cheap but if I drive up there I'm sure to find they are all still $29.98...

Did anyone else with lagging stores notice any big drops today?

Wait, crap, this is the store I was talking about. Damn - was there last night with everything priced $29.98. Of course no Scene It there for a LONG time. I can't believe that picture someone posted - that store must have had the entire Portland metro areas supply of Scene It's shipped to them since I haven't seen it (heh) around here in 3+ weeks.

Like I said, most of the markdowns are usually Friday/Monday mornings. The girl that works there usually (I see her usually those mornings) knows my face now and usually lets me know right away if the markdowns were already done.

io, if there is something you're on the lookout for in the future, let me know and I'll keep my eyes open for extras and perhaps stash them somewhere for you. I never buy more than 1 copy of a game unless it's been sitting there for a while (like I did for Condemned 2 was for at least 2 weeks, which after that time, I bought both).

I disagree, once people start posting that they've seen a game on clearance it's a sure sign that my local targets are going to start doing the same thing. So it's at least helpful to me.
