This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

This must have been rampant this season. I noticed that one of my local targets started putting PC games into hard shells --- the clearance ones!

It's weird how this seems to be a large issue at Target, even with the products seemingly having factory shrink wrap and seals. The only time a missing disc happened to me was with a factory sealed game at SEARS on clearance and once I bought a new game at Target on clearance and the disc was scratched to hell (but it looked like factory machine scratching).

Lol. Cheapy once had a CAGcast guest who ran a videogame store, and told a story about trying to get rid of all the copies of State of Emergency. Somewhere there's a landfill that had to be decommissioned after it was completely filled by copies of that game.

When I got off work today I check the clearance deals, one GH 3 for 360 left, it was still $69.98. But the return policy lets you return and and rebuy it as long as it is sealed and within the 90 days. So I'm going to wait and rebuy it when it gets fully marked down.

funny - I just got GH3 for PS3 at my local target for $25. They had tons for 360, but I didn't scan them. It was labeled at $45, and the wife and I were convinced we'd buy it and "think about it," as we already have Rock Band 2 (TRU deal). When it scanned, she had this stupid grin on her face.

Also - Buffalo Grove IL has Madden 09 CE for $63. I scanned it to check because I saw so many of you guys looking for it.

2 hours later, I just shed a tear playing the Top Gun anthem.

And yeah - State of Emergency was fun for like 5 minutes lol.

And two copies of Hot Shots Tennis PS2 for 12.xx.
Killzone Liberation for about the same.

That was it. Everybody cleaned out.

I think that's one of the games that was brought back as on of the $15 "Impulse buy" games. I noticed the stores closest to me has displays of Wii and DS games by the registers throughout the holiday season.

The copy of Arctic Tale Wii, that I bought way back in May, had a y-seal. When I opened the case, the disc was gone. Who knows what happened there?

Finally saw a GH:Aerosmith 360 bundle but it was tagged and scanned at $69.98. Not much else, though.

A little off-topic but I saw that they had alot of SW toys on clearance including this. It was at 30% off ($97.98). If it somehow gets to 75% off, I will definitely pick that beast up.

Problem for me is now they've announced a 360/PS3 version of the game. I'd been waiting a year for this to clearance and just keep it until I had a PC capable of playing it, but now I guess I'll wait for the console version.

I turned off signatures long ago (and so should anybody who finds them obnoxious and/or just wants to speed up their forum browsing). I miss Speedy's, but it's a price I'm willing to pay.

havent played it yet, such a huge backlog. (hah that sounds like poop!) i love sh games though so im sure its great and at 15 you can pass on a 60 dollar game.

I wouldn't bother with it, especially not for that price. You'd be better off playing the older, Japanese-developed ones; the newer, western-developed installments have fallen really flat.
