This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I grabbed the last one that I know of, and I've been to pretty much all of them.

Pretty much every Target is now cleaned out.
The only clearance games I see are a couple stray GH:Aerosmith and pc trash.

*Off Topic* Did pick up a bunch of Christmas stuff for next year at 75% off. Found a stapler for outdoor lights, extension cords, window stickers for the kids and a ton of good candy on the cheap.

GTA4 SE for PS3 has mysteriously showed up in my area. Interesting.

Yesterday picked up Guitar Hero: Aerosmith PS3 for the $24.98 everybody else is reporting. Didn't see anything new that nobody else hasn't found already. I don't like Aerosmith and was hoping to find GH3 but being able to get a wireless guitar that works with all the GH and RB games is a great plus at that price. IMHO

Quick, take it over to Wal-Mart before their no receipt return policy kicks in tomorrow!

At last check the Aerosmith bundle was about the only thing I could find on clearance at the stores near me. That and a ton of exercise DVDs. I thought this was odd since the first part of the year is when that stuff should sell the best. Here's hoping for a post holiday clearout of the video game section sometime in January.

Wow, so many honest people are gonna get screwed by the RF crimnals. Why don't these companies do away with upc and start making special codes so RF from other stores is not possible?

Madden 09 Collector's Edition for $22.98 at the Bowie, MD Target off of 450. Someone tried to hide it amongst the other games. I'm not really a Madden fan, but I am pretty pleased to get it for such a low price.

Or why not do what Best Buy does and only allow one receiptless return a year? Doing away with it entirely really seems like it would screw over a lot of honest people.

While I was out this afternoon I stopped by another Target in my area. Looks like some filthy animals opened the packages on both copies of GTA IV CE they had on the clearance shelf. I saw an Olevia 32" LCD TV on clearance marked down from $479 to $439.

EDIT: People were really going hog wild for the Christmas clearance stuff. I saw some hoarder that literally had a cart full of packages of Christmas lights complete with the cardboard endcap displays!

Damn it. A few weeks ago I was checking for mark downs using DPCI #s at the price checkers and they had Uncharted listed as $29.98 and in the stock room. Held out and stopped by today and they're down to $14.98 but all gone. =(

Found something weird today.

They had a GH Aerosmith marked at $50. Like usual, I always scan or punch in the DPCI number, to double check the price. Since I didn't want to carry the box over, I remembered the last 4 digits(have the 1st 5 memorized by now) and typed them in. Came up as GH III (yes, DPCI was 0137) and it was marked at $70. Confused I went back (first to make sure I wasn't crazy and made sure it was GH: Aerosmith)and grabbed the box and scanned it. It scanned right, but it was also scanning at $70. The box was really torn up and one of the packing tapes was ripped off. I can conclude that someone must have bought it somewhere else and then returned it to this Target, but I am not sure how the DPCI for III got on an Aerosmith box. Or why no one at target took it off. The box was clearly messed up. Whenever I have returned electronics, they have inspected the items with a magnifying glass. They opened the zune that I returned one time. How does this end up on the shelf?

I am sure you are not the only CAG in DFW that visits "your special" Target. What is the big deal about releasing the location of your Target. I can just go to target.com and find all the Targets in DFW.

Don't get all special with the "send me a PM" so you can tell me about your secret Target. It's not like an underground or secret Target that only a few can enter .... :lol:

I would've been thrilled if I could've gotten it at 50% back when the PS3 version was on clearance. As soon as it hit 33% all of them in my area disappeared except for one store that had 4 in stock. I waited for a month for the next drop and it never came. During that time the copies dropped to 2 so I finally snagged one so I didn't miss out (and I had gotten a GC for my birthday that helped). The next week they finally hit 50% and of course the last copy disappeared instantly.

I did the same last week. I have been to 7 targets (give or take 1 or 2) this week and have found them at 2. One was still at $60 something and the other had it at $44. The other stores (the stores that I frequently go to) are all out of them. They all had them last week.

It's happened to me multiple times with boxes of sports cards which Target sells. After getting $50 of nothing in a factory sealed box of cards on Saturday, I've vowed never to buy cards from them again. The manager accusing me of not realizing how light the empty box would've been plus them accusing me of opening the box, taking the packs out, and returning it didn't help their case. If their stock jockey didn't realize how light the box was, then obviously I wasn't the only person fooled.

Getting back to games, in my 8 or so months here, I've read about examples of empty game cases a handful of times.

It happened to me at K-mart, the game was Battlestations Midway, I opened it up and Whamo! a jacked up copy of Mechwarrior and no manual. I didn't bother taking it back.

same thing happened to me when i bought heavenly sword. only instead of no disc there was a blank cd in its place... i took it back and they actually gave me a refund, i was suprised.

That happened to me a while ago with God of War. The case was sealed but no game. I Opened it in the parking lot and then went back in and the lady who helped me remembered getting it out of the glass case and giving it to me so. She told the manager and I got a new copy which they opened in front of me after they did the exchange.

I got The Darkness a year or so from Target. I went home and open it. And nothing was in it put the instruction booklet. Straight up called them (Extremely Piss paying $60 for it, like a dumbass) and told them what happen. They said, bring it back with the reciept and we will exchange it. When I got the exchanged I open it right out side the store just to make sure it was there.

Found a copy of Army of 2 that had the shrinkwrap partially removed but still had the security stickers. Peeked inside, the disc was gone. Gave the box to the electronics guy.

On a more positive note, saw 2 GH A Bundles for $24.98. version scanned at $99.99!

DMC4 finally hit $14.98, but since I already beat the game once and the majority of the achievements are like "beat the game on super duper kawabunga mode" for 20 points, I passed.

GTA4 SE was still $62.xx. The 10 copies of Madden CE that were $44.xx a week ago or so, were gone!
