This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Picked up the last copy of GTA IV SE for $22.98. I literally purchased it about 60 seconds before a guy came to the game section looking for the game. He saw me walking out of the game section and he looked at my bag and asked me "was it the last one?" I nodded and said "yep". He told me that he called the store and they told him that there was only one left. I felt really bad for him. But hey, I guess it was meant for me to have.

All in all I really got a lot of stuff between last night and tonight (went to 5 different Targets in Maryland):

Kodak Digital Camera Support Set - $7.48 [056 04 0922]
Magnavox MPD105 10" TFT LCD Portable DVD Player - $49.98 [057 15 0010]
Logitech Media Keyboard - $4.97 [080 00 0679]
Logitech LX6 Cordless Optical Mouse - $7.48 [080 00 0168] (This item rang up as $19.98 but they honored the price marked on the box)
GE 4-Port USB Hub - $2.98 [080 00 0390]
Altec Lansing VS2320 Stereo Speakers - $7.48 [080 00 0071]
I/O Magic 160 GB Portable Drive - $28.74 [080 00 0304]
In-Vision 7" Digital Photo Frame - $18.74 [056 05 0522]
Tuari Fashion Laptop Bag (for the Wife) - $12.48 [080 00 0571]
Singstar Amped bundle with 2 Mics (PS2) - $12.48 [207 12 1759]
Dragon Ball Z: Burstlimit (Xbox 360) - $14.98 [207 22 0234]
Scene It? (Xbox 360) - $14.98 [207 22 0173]
Grand Theft Auto IV: Special Edition - $22.48 [207 22 0156]

I feel so lucky and I have absolutely no regrets!

Checked out the Target in Vadnais Heights, MN this morning. They had about 25 "Scene It" bundles but still at $29.98, it's been at that price for 3 weeks now, it's got to drop soon. Have not seen them at any other MN store. They also had wireless game controllers for the PC at $10 down from $40.
Kung-Fu Panda had the $34.98 clearance stickers peeled off and was priced back to $49.99 at Blaine SuperTarget.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I picked up a 6-pack of Fender Guitar Picks - $1.24 [057 12 0115]

I'll probably go back and pick up an effects pedal as well (I really should have just got it tonight).

Lets see I now know the Kennewick, WA Target does their clearances on Tuesday mornings

Bourne Conspiracy and DBZ Burst Limit still 29.99 for ps3 and xbox 360

PS3 Sony Wireless controllers were 39.98, they had about 5 I'll wait on a further drop

And Finally I saw a Magnavox surround sounds system with a dvd player clearance for $68, it was the same one I got for my wedding.

Alone in the Dark for Pc worth $7.48?
Did you buy with a credit/debit card, or did you use cash? Many stores can take a return without a receipt if you used a card to buy it. I know for sure Target does, for instance, as I've done it before. Radio Shack I'm not sure about, I don't really shop there.
I exchanged the unopened copy of GTA IV for Star Wars Force Unleashed at Wal-Mart and swung by the Benton, AR Target and bought the Special Edition for $22. Sweet!

I opened up the digitial picture frame, in case anyone is wondering if it is any good. The picture is somewhat clear, a little grainy but not too bad. It comes pre-loaded with some pictures that you probably would want to delete (some random kids and plain backgrounds). In between photos there is a Dora animation but you can turn that off in the options menu. Right now, there is no indication that this frame is Nickelodeon related at all. It just looks like a silver digital frame. No software to install either, you put pictures on like a flash drive. It comes with a USB cable and a very small remote. Overall I think it worth the $18.74 if you don't mind the greatest picture quality.

Keep the fraud talk out of CAG. It make us all look bad, even the honest ones.

Thanks for the quick review. I was debating on returning it because I had purchased so many clearance items. But I think I'll probably hang on to this one.

Thanks again!

idiot...fraud...
Target in North Richlands Hills, TX didn't have much. They had 1 copy of Bourne Conspiracy left at $14.98 (already bought 2 copies so I passed) and 2 copies of UT3 still at $19.98. They also had a lot of Wii games for $20.98. Didn't see any clearance external hard drives which was another thing I was looking for.
Hey I was there too today. lol small world. I wanted an external hard drive too but found the gta games instead..bought them for $22 bucks each for me and my cousin.

I went to target tonight and LO, GTA IV SE, and Scene it still have not been marked down yet!

I did see the following at the Sacramento, CA Calvin crossing store though

Cake Mania 2 (PC) $4.98
Are you smarter than a 5th grader (PC) $4.98

Also COD4 (PC) is back in the system but it's ringing up as $49.99, maybe they caught on.

So these clearance items are they in a special clearance area? Or are they on the shelves where they were normally sold? I rarely go to Target as they are far away but I think I'll check some of these items out.

Got a bit of that luck again today! I've been hitting Target at the right times of late...maybe it's because I'm at a different one every other day...hmmmm. ;)

Nabbed:
Grid (360) - $15
I/O GigaBank 320 Gb - $25
Altec Lansing Headphones w/mic (Nice!) - $10
The Club (Another Copy) - $12

Saw a boatload of Logitech keyboards at $5, was sorely tempted but didn't need it. I have someone who nabbed one of the 10 inch portable players for $50, their holding it for me if I want it. Sadly the Kung Fu Panda game I was eyeing was gone, but there's still another holdover at $35 at my usual location. Still waiting on a store with a Lost Odyssey drop that isn't sold out!

Sometimes they are in clearance end-caps. Often, though, in the Targets I visit, you will still see some clearance games behind the glass. So, check both.

It depends. Some are on the shelves behind the glass and some are on end caps near the games.

Picked up a copy of GTA IV: SE at the Target in Fullerton, CA on Yorba Linda Blvd. off the 57 freeway. They had one more left behind the counter.

So have being around CAG for awhile, I still haven't bothered finding out the answer to a question of mine. Does clearancing pricing only take effect when a Target associate PHYSICALLY scans a game or product? Meaning if an item is not scanned for weeks to come and a drop is suppose to occur, does the store's computer automatically update to this price or will I have to wait until the item is PHYSICALLY scanned?
I thought it was a thread for lurkers who don't contribute to CAG at all. My bad.
Hmm...I've been around since 03 and you 07, I guess you can't do math either besides once a month...

I don't think it has to be physically scanned. When I picked up a game yesterday, I doubt they actually scanned it but it dropped from 50% to 75% off since it was mixed in with other games away from the clearance section still with the 50% off sticker.

It has to be done manually by the Price Change Team. Manually can include scanning the item but it can also include approving the new price through an LRT. The store's server does not update clearance item automatically.

So basically what you are saying is that it has to be done manually, and that whatever Target store I visit, doesn't have their computers updated for them via some main hub or whatever?

I hid a couple of games a couple of weeks ago and am going back tomorrow, but I assume the price changes won't take effect because they are probably the last two in that store...

They should drop in price, that's what I was saying in my earlier post. I thought hiding games got people all angry but since you mentioned it I didn't want to explictly state I had hidden the game in my last post but I did. The game I had hid last week was the last copy at 50% off. I went back and it was 75% off.
I'm not sure if I've seen this mentioned, but that Ion drum set that was on clearance at $160 or so (from the original $229.99) dropped to $57 Monday. I couldn't fucking believe it. Of course, the two stores where I saw them for $160.xx were OOS even Monday evening. I'm sure those got snagged by employees. I went to 3 more Targets today and 1 had them for regular price (a larger store which I guess didn't need to clearance them), another didn't have them at all, and the third supposedly had one in stock but they couldn't find it so they told me that meant it sold Tues AM (I was there around noon).

That would have been the single best find I have ever made at Target if I could have snagged one. My son is dying to play drums and this kit would have been so much nicer (more compact, headphones, etc) than a full set and to get it for just $57 would have been epic. I wasted so much time trying to chase it down too. Oh well, in the process I found 2 GTA IV SEs and a few other things so it wasn't a complete waste of time...

So, yeah, if this is news to everyone else I'm somewhat surprised as I would think you guys would have been all over that.

I did get my son a Camp Rock electric guitar for $24.98. For that price, he can grind away on it. Only problem is that it doesn't come with any kind of amp. I am a complete newbie when it comes to electric guitars. Is all you need an amp to make it work, or does the guitar have to have some sort of power source? The thing came with no instructions whatsoever. I don't want to go into my local music store and act like a total dumbass so I'm asking you guys first ;). Also, spending $50-$100 or more on an amp when I got a guitar for $25 seems like a waste. I wish it came with something to make it playable as is.
Actually, I saw those drums for $57 today. I considered it then thought how little room I have left in my apartment and ended up passing on it.

I only hid the game because I couldn't find it in any other Target in my area, and to be honest I got tired of driving around, back and forth, wasting all that gas. This is the only title I've done so on and hopefully won't resort to doing this again.

Sorry for those who maybe angry about this, but at least I'm not committing fraud like some others who openly discuss this matter.

Inquiring minds want to know...what titles were they? They must have been pretty good if you hid them.

TGT HQ sends the updated prices and then are approved manually by the Price Change Team.
What you are talking about is of heavy debate here on CAG. Some would argue that hiding items works. It can. But it can also backfire if, as in your case, not one copy of the item can be found. At this point, the store server is showing 2 of this item in-store. It is up to the Price Change Team Leader to a) approve the price change of these 2 items even though they've not been found or b) chalk the missing items up to theft or a miscount in the system. If B happens, the Team Leader will more than likely "zero" the item out. If you scan said item and the "Item Not Found in System" appears, B is what has occured.
Hiding an item is a BIG YMMV.

11 posts in 5 years? You are a true asset to the CAG community. It's funny how you were complaining about the clutter earlier. Now look who is making the clutter, both of us. I'm finished, no more to see here.

I'm perfectly sane, but I have an overwhelming urge to take the 131.1 mile journey up to the Oaks, PA store. Should take me about 2 1/2 hours. My wife loves to visit Pennsylvania, so she'd be up for the trip...Hmmmz...decisions, decisions.

You could conivnce her by telling her there is a somewhat new set of outlet shops about 10 - 15 minutes away from Oaks, plus King of Prussia Mall which I hear is the 2nd largest mall in the country (it is huge, there used to be 3 FYE's in it!)

Tell her about the fall foliage in PA.

Is 131 round trip or 1 way? If its round trip then thats not bad. One way, I wouldn't do it. Especially if you can't guarantee getting it.
That particular Target seems to get a large amount of copies of each game and they don't seem to be able to move all the copies at retail or sale prices. Most stores have Alone in the Dark (PC) for $14.98 around me, having an average of 3 - 4 copies left. But that Rosemont store? EIGHT copies. It's only that one store that I've see that goes to such low prices really quickly. So it might be different depending on the area you're in..
I'm in the East Bay, CA. I DID happen to find Alone in the Dark for $7.48 :D, but Iron Man PC was still full price.

I also found the Fender distortion pedal for $12.48 --- there were some other cheapy (non-Fender) pedals for $9.99, but I paid the extra few bucks for durability.

Also, found an I/O Magic dual-layer DVD-RW drive for $12.48. Though, it was opened already. So, hopefully it works!!! ;)

You best delete those, or else...

A friend alerted me that they had just marked down GTA SE to 22.48. I go down there to get a copy-- my friend had them place one on hold. I browsed the case and noticed they had another one and I went to ask the electronics guy-- a young teen-- for it. He made the saddest face ever and said, "There's another one?" And my friend kept cracking jokes like "We're clearing you out!" Completely oblivious...
Now I have to find another one next week and see if that kid is working there, to make things right.

^^ That was the first thing I did, no way would I want some random kids pictures on the frame (I also deleted the background images included). I don't even understand why they were included in the first place. I can understand on a regular frame, but you can't even see the pictures on a digital frame until it is plugged in to an electrical outlet and at that point, I would just put my own pictures into the frame.

I managed to find GTA IV SE (x2) for 22.48 and Grid for 14.98 at the Target in Viera, Florida. Thanks all =)

btw, if anyone is in the area, there ought to be 4 more copies of GTA.

It's understandable why people would do this. I personally would worry more about getting banned from the store for hiding games (which is mentioned in the other Target thread). For me, it's not really worthwhile to risk being banned since I want to continue getting clearance items in the future...

I saw a shelf tag for Bully 360 for $7.48 on Saturday but there were no copies. Odd thing is I haven't seen that game there since it first went on clearance. That doesn't make much sense considering that it would have to be in the store in order to get marked down, correct?. I typed the DCPI into the scanner and it brought up the $7.48 price, but it said there were no more in the stock room.

If the game was out of stock, wouldn't it show up as "out of system", rather than the price? Should I look around for a copy that might have been misplaced?
Logitech Media Keyboard - $4.97 [080 00 0679]
Oh, man, I desperately need a new keyboard and we could use one on the laptop the kids use... I'd buy 2 of those in a heartbeat. I guess I overlooked that stuff in searching for games and the drum kit.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I picked up a 6-pack of Fender Guitar Picks - $1.24 [057 12 0115]
My son was bugging me to buy a full-price pack of picks just Sunday night. I didn't see any clearanced ones or I definitely would have grabbed them!
Cool, thanks for the review. I bought 2 of those yesterday and then today I found another brand: "Disney pix frame", 056-05-0503. It also has a 7" screen and 128 MB of memory (upgradeable with sd cards), was also $18.74, and I'm sure has similar quality. They had a "boy" one and a "girl" one but it appeared the only difference was the set of included faceplates. The boy one has Cars, PotC, etc. So now I have 3 total. The Disney one looks a bit slicker from the pics on the box (haven't opened any). We'll probably give one of the In-Vision ones to my wife's parents loaded with pics of the kids. Cheap Christmas present ;).
Actually, I saw those drums for $57 today. I considered it then thought how little room I have left in my apartment and ended up passing on it.
Man, you don't know how much that pains me after I spent hours trekking to multiple stores just to get one of those (and failed).

Anyway... Sorry rvdnsx ;).

Hey IO, that's a pretty good idea. I never know what to get my Grandma for Christmas, but I think she'd really dig how "fancy" it is. There's a dual screen (7" a screen) model on clearance for 32.00. I might get that for her.
IO, is the actual manufacturer of the Disney themed one a different maker? I'm curious if it's a better brand then the Diego and Dora one.

I'd send one to my grandma but I'm sure even this tech would overwhelm her ;).

I didn't see the dual-screen model. I want that for our house! Man, now I need to go out to Target yet again ;). What brand is that?

It is a completely different package. Looks like it is made by an outfit called "Digital Blue". I've had bad luck with that NPower stuff - both the Spongebob mp3 player and video players that were clearanced several months ago flaked out on me pretty early. I was able to return both and bought replacements which I haven't even opened yet. My 5 year-old was just playing with the little Spongebob camera (also Npower) and it is barely worth the $5 - I'm about to dump some pics to the PC to see what they look like (d'oh - looks like I'll have to install the stupid software to do so otherwise it doesn't see it). Of course it has no view screen (or even a flash).

The only two games on clearance under $15 was FIFA 2008 and NBA Live 2008. FIFA was about $12.99 and there were many of them. Curious to see how low it will go at our local Target before they send it back.

Thanks for the headsup on the N-Power line... I may splurge on the two screen frame for myself. Or I may not at all-- the only ones I've seen are the N-Power and two screen. I'm not even sure that I want a digital photo frame.
