This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Seriously, does anyone know who/how often these clearence items get updated cause my store is always like at 41.98 while everyone else across the country is getting it for 14.98 or whatever.
 
I was in a Target this morning that had of course Frontlines for $41.98 and a copy of Def Jam (360) that has been on clearance for $29.98 for ever.. but they only had like 5 games on clearance And I was excited to see they had a Contra 4 (DS) for $4.98 only to see that it had been opened and the game and manual had been stolen... Unreal is 17.99 used at GameStop as I got one there over the weekend with the B2G1 coupon. At Mentor OH Target there wasn't much. A couple of No More Heroes, Smackdown vs RAW (PS3) and a crap-ton of 3rd party GameCube Memory cards. And oddly enough all dozen or so of the Scene It!'s mysteriously disappeared also...
 
Ughh, still no UT3 (PS3) or DBZ (360) drop. Even worse, I had been scoping out an HD video camera that was on clearance and should have dropped to $25 today was gone an hour after opening! >_
 
Saw Facebreaker down to $34.98 (oops, price already reported, it was $41.98 last week)... Unreal Tournament III is STILL $19.98 at my Target.... geeez. This is getting ridiculous.
 
It appears as though Target is starting to get weird about their clearance stuff. I picked up No More Heroes (1 copy left now) for the $20.98 price because I can justify spending another $6 on a good game like this one.

Other than that I saw a ton of Ninja Reflex (Wii) for $20.98, some Bass Fishing game for the Wii at $20.98, DMC3 (PC) for $19.98, UTIII and Smackdown Vs. Raw (PS3) STILL at $19.98, and a lone copy of NBA 2k8 (360) for $7.98. I would have picked it up if I didn't already have it.

Also, my store a TON of copies of Frontlines at $41.98 last week and this week...poof...they are all gone. It figures. I'm just glad I picked up GTA IV SE for $22.98 and No More Heroes when I did because...damn, who knows what would have happened to those games. Facebreaker (PS3) and Pure (PS3) were both $34.98 and $41.98 respectively. I'm going to try one more Target after work and see if they have any Frontlines for $14.98. It's a long shot but oh well. Guess I'll be playing Fable II tomorrow and Saints Row 2 today when I pick it up. Bummer...
 
now that I'm home.. i have no idea what i'm going to do w/ GTA4 SE, i already own GTA4.....not even sure its worth ebaying so heavy. Its just to hard to pass on cheap games!
 
The new place I moved to rocks!

I have 4 Targets within 15 miles, and only 2 ghetto SAs. Which means at least 3 of the 4 I have seen have had games at 90% (the place I used to live would never make it higher than 50% off before donating them to the SA). I realize that's why I got those two amazing deals (K&L-360 5.xx and RE:UC 6.xx).

I am also kicking myself. The first week we moved here my wife had to get stuff to decorate our new home, and I went by the endcaps, and guess what I saw....

Frontlines--12.xx (about 5 copies)
skate--360--9.xx (3)
Grid--360--12.xx (8)
Ninja Gaiden--DS---14.xx (2)

But after UHAL, prop tax, and gas. My wife and I were on a complete spending freeze. When I went back yesterday...everything was gone :(

Sidenotes: anyone seen if the 360 Pure has been clearenced or just PS3?

Also if anyone can find Scene it for sub-20 I will gladly paypal for shipping and time.

Haha I had the same panic/thought rush to my mind too! I have the regular edition of GTA IV, but I HAD to have the SE at $22. I just did. It's up to you of course, but you could probably trade the regular edition on here or into some game place. You might take a small hit on the trade in value but it's better than nothing. You could also risk it and let the SE sit unopened and see if it goes up in value by the time the next GTA comes out and sell it on eBay for a profit. Depending on what you paid for the SE, you could also eBay your regular copy starting at the price you paid for the SE. That way you at least get the money you spent on the SE back and haven't really lost anything in the end. That's how I justified it anyways lol!

I don't really play my GTA IV anyways, so mine will sit and wait unopened for the value to go up or until I trade in my regular edition. I wanted the SE in the first place, but I refuse to pay more LEs or SEs anymore because they ALWAYS drop in price in the end. Anyone remember the Halo 3 cat helmet edition? I do because I waited and got it for $60 brand new on Amazon last year.

Nothing is guaranteed and honestly I don't see it happening, it wasn't like that SE was hard to find. Maybe trade it on CAG or sell it at cost plus shipping to someone who was looking for it.

Like coolsteel said, nothing is guaranteed. Whether people want to admit it or not, SE's and LE's are limited in supply when compared to the regular editions. Will limited editions become rare and more valuable? That depends on many factors falling into the right place. From what I've learned in gaming (and now game collecting) is that certain games become more "rare," and therefore more valuable, due to high demand when another sequel comes out/is announced, the quantity of the game released, how well it sold/sells, if it was recalled for some reason, and so on and so forth.

Most stores, due to demand, usually don't order too many LE's or SE's compared to the regular editions in terms of quantity. Publishers also don't produce as many SE's, hence why they are called "limited." You could also do this to help out a CAGer who wasn't able to find the game and wants to play it. I've never heard of a better reason to sell or trade off games you don't play anymore, or have duplicates of, to people who haven't had a chance to play it. That's what this community is all about! :)

Too many GTAIV SEs were made so I am 90% sure it won't go up in price... The reason why Bioshock and Mass Effect are holding steady at their prices or even going up is because they didn't make that many in the first place... Bioshock and Mass Effect were NEW IPs in the game industry so it was a gamble in the first place to make a LE/SE so of course to cut back on losses if it didn't do well they didn't make as much as they could have sold... GTA being the 4th in the series [actually even more than 4th], already had a big following so selling an SE was an acceptable risk, same thing for Halo 3 and we know how that turned out...

I am not saying that if its a FIRST game in a series the LE/SE will be rare [Prey, Two Worlds, Jericho, etc] but it is more likely that if it is a first game in a series and the game turns out to be a quality game it is more likely that the SE/LE of that game will be worth alot in the future... Dead Space is the most recent example go look on eBay for the "Ultra Limited Edition" of those [only 1000 made]... An example for the flip side is the Saints Row 2 SE as I doubt we will see this rise in value as it is a sequel to a game and they did mass produce it...

Fable 2 LE is mass produced too and since they removed all the features that were supposed to come with it I don't see it being a collectible item that raises in value. Gears of War 2 LE will probably have some value till after the holidays but after will probably steadily drop because it being the sequel to a VERY popular game was mass produced... One game I think might upset my formula [don't quote me on it] is Fallout 3... Technically it is the 3rd installment to the series but only a few of us computer geeks actually played the first 2... So the introduction of this game to the CONSOLE generation might be what it takes to make a sequel collectible item go UP in value. Who knows tho... The game may tank when it hits the general population... But if I were a betting man and you were looking for a game to get teh LE/SE for in hopes of it raising in value go for Fallout 3 this holiday season...

Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team.

On Saturday, the Target in Hawthorne, CA had 4 copies of Lost Odyssey priced at $9.98 (behind the glass case). This is the Target that opened up about 2 weeks ago. They also had DBZ:BL 360 but I didn't check the price.
 
The only thing I saw when I went were NBA Liva 2008 for various consoles...cheapest price was for the Wii at $7.99 still. Did see Track and Field for the DS for $20 and Unreal Tournament 3 for $19.98 but that's it. Nothing else...

DMC4 for the PC is still 27 bucks.

Frontline has been stuck at 41 for a while.
 
grabbed a copy of DDR Supernova bundle for PS2 today for $7.48

everything else had been cleaned out sadly, though MLB '08 The Show for PS3 has dropped to $30 now
 
I picked up a copy of New International Track & Field for $7.48. Amazingly enough, there were (5) copies there when I went.

Damnit, GTA4 SE was still $45. I'm waiting for it to hit the magical $23. My Targets are generally pretty predictable in the order that they'll drop. The one Target near me already dropped, but had none in stock. I'm hoping that the one closer to me that usually is a little late will drop soon. They still have 4 in stock.

Mine had 6 in stock until Columbus day.
I went first thing in the AM and only one was left @ 22.48.

Never really wanted the game but I'm a sucker for Collectors Edition stuff.
Maybe I'll play it some day.
 
This Target Clearance thread is the best ever. *note for Deal of the Year voting*

Today, I picked up a copy of GTA IV SE for $22.48! It took over 3 weeks for the price drops around my area.

Between these Target deals, and the Hot Topic Halo SE Xbox 360; I am having the best (and cheapest) Next Gen upgrade. Thanks, CAGs!!

Mine still has it listed for $45 and people already bought all the copies. Damn. :cry: I haven't gotten any deal lately since some people bought up all the clearance games even though they are just 25-50% off.
