This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Waiting, and waiting and waiting for GTA to drop. Week after week I would walk out empty handed.

I walk in early today walk over to the scanner, scan the GTA barcode prinout and see its $22 finally! I ran over to the shelves and look, and of course, both copies, ARE GONE.

I asked the lady and she said like right when they opened someone came in and got them both. I was so freakin p.o.ed I have been waiting for about a month now and of course it drops and they are gone.

If anyone has an extra they would be willing to sell/trade let me know. I know this isnt the trade thread but as a side note ive got the 20GB HDD and a 12 month Live Card I could trade.

On a more positive note, DBZ:BL (360) finally dropped to $15 and I picked that up at least.

talk about lame..my target just dropped mlb 08 for ps3 to $42.. get this 2 copies left behind class. These newbs around here buy it up before it even hits 50% off. Now i have to check out this other target who dropped it first a few weeks ago to see if they dropped it from $42.

Been mentioned before but all entertainment/electronics items drop monday mornings. You don't need to go multiple times a week unless you are looking for other items. I go quite a bit on Wed. when tons of toys start getting marked down a few times a year. Most of my nephews and daughters gifts come from target....

Its wierd that the Target at the Lowes shopping center is the only Target in the area that has the scene its.. They also had nba live 08 for 14.99..

Well, so much for getting a cheap guitar - yeah, that was only $25 but I had to shell out $100 for an amp today at Guitar Center to actually use the damn thing. So then I might as well get my son a nice guitar instead of the Camp Rock one. Though he did go off and play it for over an hour once I gave him the amp. But now I need to tune the thing .

All of the various digital picture frames have been wiped out - never did find that two-frame one .

In game news, just saw the same old same old - Lost Odyssey at $15, DBZ, Ninja Reflex, etc... Only thing new (to me) was a DS Word Coach for $4.98. I'll have to read up on it - my daughter might want to give it a try.

That's the schedule but many stores don't follow it exactly...it depends more on the personnel working. I've noticed with the different people who get moved to or hired for the electronics department that they do mark downs differently. I've seen markdowns on Sat. before the Mon. when everybody else reports them, I've seen them Mon. morning at opening, Tues. morning, etc. I knew that certain people would start everything off at 30% while others would jump straight to 50% off. Some workers keep the games in the cases clearly marked, some put them in a big sloppy pile at the bottom of the case, and others put them on the endcaps. As soon as I've got things figures out, they change personnel again.

The only way to make sure you get a game at the lowest price possible is to buy it before it sells out and return/rebuy when it drops. Again, you need to find the right person working at guest services to make this easy. It took me about five visits returning/rebuying Legos from this summers toy clearance before I found a lady who told me I could just bring in the reciepts and she would credit me by doing a return/rebuy. I think I adjusted about $400 worth of Legos down to 75% off doing this and I recently got Madden 09 and GTA 4 adjusted to $22 each. Now I just carry in my receipts and if she is working I get my adjustments. (I hope she nevers changes departments!)

The schedule is good as a guideline, but its the people working there who actually decide when and how the magic is made.

Sheesh, there are a lot of us in the Raleigh area - I'm surprised I haven't run into any CAG'ers. It's no wonder my clearance findings at Target are typically few and far between (at least for semi-quality stuff). I was surprised to even find what I did at North Hills - they typically have nothing of value.

Being unemployed and having just moved to the area.. I have alot of free time and have become abit of a expert on Raleigh Targets... None of them are exactly amazing centers for clearance, though if u hit them all up you can usually find what your looking for... Triangle Town Center had GTA4:se (also got 2 160 gb portable hard drive), the one capital blvd has the scene its? , there's one by the airport that has DBZ: burst limit... and the one in knightsdale had The club. The only 2 targets I haven't found anything to buy were North Hills.. (now i know why! lol) and the one in Wake Forest. The only one I haven't been to yet is on Grove Barton Rd..might actually go today.. since wife went home for a few weeks, I really have nothing to do, except go to target.
