This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Okay, I saw this today and thought it was odd... Frontlines: Fuel of War apparently came off of clearance, but at a lower regluar price than the clearance price. Now $29.99.

I was at Target earlier this week and there were still 5-6 $44 dollar versions left and TONS of clearance games that hadn't been marked down or touched (Frontlines was still $41 and there were roughly 10 copies).

Today they were all gone. Completely cleared. Given that Frontline would drop next to 35 based on reports and other games that were up didn't drop at all, I imagine some got donated to Goodwill rather than drop.

I seldom see the "extreme clearances" at my store anymore. I was hoping for a $22 GTA, but even with regular checking (and knowing I can generally score awesome clearances on items in sections other than just video games) it seems to indicate something other than just "not dropping for 6 months..."

[Note: Frontlines was completely gone, not even at the $30 price point it should be at]

I'm amazed that:
1) My local Targets still have Ace Combat 6 in stock (released a year ago, several months before DMC4).
2) It's still $59.99.
3) I think other stores (BB, CC) still have it at $59.99 as well.

Make no mistake, I like me my Ace Combat, but its longevity at list price is astounding.

Went to Coral Springs Target today. I saw something I have not seen at a Target in months... A Clearance end-cap, that had GAMES!

I grabbed the one Lost Odyssey for $14.98 (checked it, it has all 4 discs).

Only other 360 game was NBA Live 08-$14.98 (no thanks).

Also saw a bunch of Unreal 3 for for $19.98. A few other PS3, DS & PC games previously mentioned in this thread.

Had one copy of the first season of South Park for $4.95. Did not 'bite' on that, though.

Yeah, for whatever reason, the last few Ace Combats have refused to drop in price. ACZero and ACX pretty much stayed at their release price at most places for a lot time. I wonder if Namco put some sort of stop on price dropping the game for a certain amount of time.

Not sure about a Cairo Swordsman, though. Anyways, Pure for PS3 at Sugar Land, TX Target is also on clearance. There's also Singstar 90's at Target, Missouri City.

This was bound to happen since they cancelled the Indy MM line. Last week, I picked these up at Target at 20% off. It was a sale (not clearance). It figured that the clearance wasn't too far off.

Picked up Lost Odyssey for $9.98. Saw Zoo Hospital DS on clearance for $20.98 and Wall-E PS3 for $12.48.

As far as the retail ones go, most people are looking for Venom. It's one of the rarer ones. Besides that, special edition ones that weren't released at retail are in demand, like Peter Parker and the movie version of Iron Man.

I checked three different Targets in CT and all had Advance Wars Days of Ruin in stock but all were back to the full price of $29.99, so it looks like the clearance pricing for this is a thing of the past until after the holidays when they want to reduce old inventory.

I'm shocked right now, just shocked. Why would they clearance out games that came out so recently? Because of all the "AAA" titles coming for this holiday season? I think we might be in for a boat load of good clearance games fairly soon...

I hope so. God, I hope so. Another thing to watch might be Target's page on Amazon. They seem to have been putting their clearance items up there recently, like The Darkness and Heavenly Sword... usually at the 75% mark. Even if we miss them in store, or if your store has crappy markdowns, this could be an option...

Yeah, so many games coming out and with Target's relatively small electronics section. Target is probably forced to clearance out less than stellar selling games to make room for the gigantic music game bundles among others.

Good for us I suppose. Hopefully, the ill-informed customers don't sweep up any clearance game they see that has the potential to drop even further.

That's definitely what I'm thinking too. I mean just off the top of my head we have Fallout 3, Gears of War 2, Resistance 2, Call of Duty 5, Little Big Planet, Motorstorm: PR, and FarCry 2 coming out within the next 4 weeks or so. That's a crap load of great titles that Target needs to put on shelves for the holiday season. I'm waiting for this upcoming Monday morning to see what else goes up on clearance!

Doesn't make sense to me. The Targets I go to have games in trays on shelves in locked cabinets. Music game bundles are typically on the bottom shelf of the cabinets, or just out on open shelves/endcaps.

I agree their space for games is relatively small compared to Best Buy or Circuit City, but many of the slots for games in their locked cabinets are empty week after week after they've apparently sold out of whatever game they had there.
