This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

ok, to answer my own question, apparently it doesn't. i went to a store that said limited availability for lost odyssey and nothin. then i went to another that said limited availability for contra 4 and gta4 special edition. they had contra, but it was still ringing up 13.98, so i passed, and gta4 i asked about, and it said in their system thing that they had 1 on hand, but the guy gave me a bit of a wishy-washy "the computer just hasn't been updated" response.

Did you scan it? The copy I scored yesterday scanned "Item not found", which means it was out of the system. The cashier scanned it up front and my wife got it for $14.98, which was the last price when it was still in the system.
 
The Target in College Point, NY has a Wii 7 inch Portable screen for 64.98. I declined to pick it up, hopefully it will hit a further price drop.

yes it has been reported to be as low as $9.98. I saw one at that price but it was gone the following week.

I scored Frontlines: FOW (360) under $9 at Circuit city today after pricematching with microcenter ad. or you print out the page from microcenter.com and get your local best buy price match it ;)
 
Grrr. what is the UPC for the hard drive? A google search says that 00882224460941 is the UPC code but that isnt turning up in UPC database.

If that Target has the price scanners with the numbers on the sides, you can punch in the DPCI # (found in the OP) and it will give you the actual price. Never trust the sticker price since they sometimes do not retag the games but do lower the price in the system. It may be a copy that someone hid and that they found and put behind the glass.

If your Target doesn't have those scanners, have them pull the game out and check the price. Push that button in the game section and they should show up ASAP.

Picked up DMC4 (PC) at the Baseline Target in Tempe, Arizona (near 101) for $9.98. There are two more left, as of 9 PM.

Picked up MLB The Show 08 ($15) and a 360 Official Racing Wheel ($70). Going to sit on the racing wheel for a bit and then try to return/purchase for a lower price.

dallow it's ymmv, every target will eventually drop it down to that price unless it sells out before it reaches that low. sometimes games are neglected and they drop off the system. you can always find one of those price scanners and type in the dpci to check the current price.

They don't seem to have the nice scanners with keypads in my area.

I got the last Final Fantasy Tactics PSP for $13.98. Was looking for some Sixaxis... nothing. I haven't seen ANY at Target since they were reported to be clearanced. Maybe they're in the back and will appear one day on the clearance shelf. Also noticed that WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2008 was taken off clearance and is now $29.99.

Finally, has anyone tried out that Intec Wii portable screen? I bought one for the Gamecube way back when Intec was pretty new. It works fine, though the colors were a bit runny, and it made a high pitched noise when playing most games. So I'm just wondering if I should experience similar quality, or if they've upped the game since then.

Something is odd about a few of these games that goes against what your saying, for example it seems to me as if very few stores dropped the price on certain games (Advance Wars Days of Ruin comes to mind as one I remember). I don't get how it's going to go on the clearance cycle around August at some stores and is still MSRP 2-3 months later at many stores. I think it's just going against the (target clearance cycle) grain for one reason or another. Maybe it was a mistake in being put on clearance or maybe somehow it was forgotten about at most stores (like Mark of Kri at Kmart :D).

Kane & Lynch was another one, which was clearanced and dropped to $12.48 or so at MANY other CAG's local Target stores. Yet, in this district, they yanked the game off of the clearance schedule and said it 'wasn't supposed to go on clearance'.

Yet, just a month later, the game was re-stickered as clearance and proceeded to drop like a rock in what was one of the quickest successions through the clearance pricing schedule I'd ever seen.
 
San Diego on balboa and gennessee has 2 drives and 2 steering wheels left.

Was trying to decide if gears of war or civilization were worth those prices.

What puts the hair up target's backside to go and clearance things out like this?

I was held up in the checkout lanes because the white trash guy in front of me was buying a clearance HDTV for about that price. The problem was he was trying to pay by check. Equifax would not approve the check so they had to call the manager. The manager came over and said something about Target having a policy that they don't allow people to make large purchases like that via check unless they have established a history of cleared checks.

The guy then asked if they could hold the TV so he could pull the cash from the ATM and they told him they can't hold clearance merchandise. For a split second I thought about whipping out my credit card and saying "I'll take it, I've got a perfectly valid card right here!" but that would've been a real ass hole move;).

No unfortunately I didn't. I looked all around the register area but I didn't see it. I guess they were in the process of carting the box up to the front b/c as I was leaving I saw someone heading to the electronics section with one of those big flat bed carts.
 
Picked up New international Track & Feild (207020426) for 7.48 even though sticker said 14--. Scanner is my friend.
Also picked up a Cairo Swordsman Mighty Mugg for $5.48. 087060950 if anyone cares.
 
For any 360 owner who upgraded to a 120gb drive... does the 120 have anything on it fresh from MS that would make you not want to do the transfer kit thing?

fuckin' Kmart did that shit to me too when I was trying to buy a single clearance game and one of those pre-paid cell phones they had on sale. I think the total was like $37 or so and I had JUST checked my balance at my bank earlier in the day and I had over 10 times that amount in there.

But unfortunately, about 10 years ago I had to close a checking account with what was then First Union(now Wachovia/Wells Fargo, whatever)because I hadn't 'kept the minimum in there' and what little I did have in my account they fuckin' charged off of me in fees for not keeping a minimum in there. So, THEY essentially caused my account to be overdrafted because of the fees, which is why I'm glad I switched to a local bank and a 'no minimum' account.

Oh and is anyone else like me and thinks that 30% off of a $900 item is still too little? That tv would be tempting for me if it reached 75% off. But by that time, the local store employees will have snatched them all up, save for the display model probably.

Not really, considering the cheapest I found it was for $849 via Amazon.com and from the reviews I've read it's a fantastic set, and I'd rather pay $600+ for something Sony before I throw that at an Oleivia, Vizio, Westinghouse, etc.
