This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I went in yesterday to the Merrillville, IN Target to pick something up. I glanced over to the video game section to see that a handful of No More Heroes at $20.98 had mysteriously appeared. They also took a lot of the clearance games from the case out, but didn't notice any new drops.

Agh, went to the Henrietta NY Target on Hyland Drive and they had nothing on clearance. In fact, two of the games that were supposed to be "clearance", TMNT and Smackdown, scanned at $29.99 each.

I stopped by the Target near my work and they had totally re-arranged everything. The 120 GB drive slot was gone and replaced with a 60 GB drive for $99.99 (no drive, just the space and the tag). Also, the racing wheel was gone. Crap. I was thinking it was a wasted trip. I asked an associate and they took me over to the lawn/garden area where the racing wheel was sitting with a bunch of lawn stuff on clearance. Huh?!? I've never seen them do that before. But since I noticed the gaming section was basically cut in half, I see they needed the space and just moved it way out of the way. I should have grabbed it at $70 but I'm still not sure since it looks like it was opened and returned. I really wanted the 120 GB drive to return to Wal-Mart to get me a $25 price difference refund. Oh, well. The Target near my house doesn't have any racing wheels and the freakin' 120 GB drive is still $179.99!

I'm glad I picked up that last 120 GB HD while it was still instock. Looks like they were clearing room for the new 60 GB HD bundle.

Yeah, I'm thinking of buying the $179.99 one, return/rebuy or get a price adjustment at another store, then go to Wal-Mart for my other price adjustment. Almost seems like too much work.

I want the Target clearance price of $125.98. Buy it there on clearance and return the unopened package to Wal-Mart with my receipt to get my $149.99 back. Then *if* it decides to go any lower at Target, I can go back with my receipt and get a price adjustment.

I can talk about it. I have a receipt for all of my purchases. Since Wal-Mart won't match Target clearance prices, I'm just gonna do a rebuy and return. I've actually bought the product already but I want the $50~$75 in price adjustment back.

Just to clarify, I am not buying it at Target and returning to Wal-Mart w/o a receipt.

I almost bought an optical from Amazon till folks said they were loose fitting and not ideal for use with the 360....

I hit the Target in Cape Girardeau... and hoped to score Gears of War for cheap.... but it didn't drop. So I ended up paying $28, which seemed good since most places have it for $40!

Also noticed that the copies I had previously seen of R6V2 and Battlefield Bad Company... were gone. No where to be found.

Kind of a weird side note... they started a reset and I saw a bunch of older games on a stocking cart (Dark Sector and UT3 were among them) and when I came back later they hadn't been stocked or had a place for them to go. So who knows that that will mean. Clearance I hope.

I also saw a shifty looking employee carrying 2x copies of GOW2 from the front of the store to the back... guess he's getting ready for the launch.

Also, if the price of Gears does drop, will they match the price if I take my reciept in?

I've never had a problem getting Target to do a price adjustment on something I bought there within 14 days. After that you have to do a return/rebuy unless the CSR is nice. So, if I see something on clearance and I know another price drop is a week or 2 away, I'll get it and go back in with my receipt. They will do a lookup and then do a refund of teh difference.

They will not do a price match to other Target stores or to any other store.

All I spotted were a bunch of Guitar Hero covers for about $10.98, and the Psyclone Recharge 2-pack of batteries and chargers for $20.98 (normally $30), and the Chill Station cooling units too for about $14.98. I picked up a recharge kit.

I think that pretty much describes the scene at the College Point Target in Queens. I haven't seen anything at all, in the last 2 weeks.
