This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I live in west palm also. My whole life actually. I check several targets nearly every week and I haven't found any of the good prices that most people get since last summer. The only game I've bought at Target since the coupons was MLB 08 for the ps3 for 14.98 and the disc wasn't inside the case!

I'll definately PM you if I find any of those games you want. I have a ps3 as well, so I'll be looking for those anyway. I go to Targets in Wellington, Royal Palm beach, Lake Worth, Boynton Beach, and Boca Raton. Please try to PM me as well if you happen to run accross any deals, especially the 360 HDD.

oh yea, never ever ever ever call to ask for prices. They would probably just tell you an incorrect price anyway or they will buy it for themselves (if they are cheap that is).

That happened at my Target. Two huge stacks of AMF Bowling for the Wii also got plopped down on the clearance shelf. A Lego Indiana Jones also materialized at 12.xx even though I never saw it on clearance before today. Sadly the Pures I had been watching vanished.

As per usual, i work at target and i in no way speak for them..just wanted to say that a few of you really disgust me. Most of you seem pretty cool and im sure target appreciates your business as do i, but to those of you in this thread who refer to team members as *BITCH* and wanting to throw games into the face of team members, i give you a hearty fuck you. I would like to remind you again that these people work very hard and get paid very little and hope you will treat them with respect. If you came up to one of my people and gave them a hard time, i would be more then happy to deal with you and give you a hard time back.

I agree with this, I worked retail before and the amount of customers who think that they're right just because they are customers is ridiculous, I always treat the employees with respect, unless they really give me shit. These employees get paid nothing to work standing up for 8 hours a day, it's a sucky job and people disrespect them.

I've had very positive experiences with the employees in the electronics (game) section at Target. They're not always as knowledgeable as I'd like, but they're usually pleasant. I always feel bad when I make them get a game from the locked cabinets right after they've pulled one for the previous customer, but I've never gotten a sour look.

I made someones day at walmart today, just complimenting her (I was at the pharmacy, and she said I could just leave my coke in the basket and she quickly typed in the code at the computer without a 2nd thought). Its always nice to hear a compliment at work, because 99% of the time all they hear are complaints. Did the same thing at hastings on black friday, helping the lone game area employee deal with a 1000 people interupting everybody until he could make his way down to the ps3 section for what I wanted.
 
I picked up the 360 racing wheel yesterday for $25. I was overjoyed until I got home. I noticed the tape was loose a little and when I opened it, I found a mess. Someone had played with it and returned it. The disc was loose in the box, all the cables had been ripped open. I took it back and was disappointed that they didn't have anymore. Something didn't feel right about it and I wanted to bring it back right away.

On to games, I experienced the same thing as most of you. Last monday they had a bunch of 360 games and now all of them are gone.

Did pick up DMC4, but I might not keep it.

this person is awesome. i too, have worked retail in the past and have no idea how people stand it. the way retail employees are treated when they make a tiny mistake is ridiculous. every so often, i would get a compliment and it made the day go MUCH better.

then there were days when people demanded something and that they wanted it NOW. or there was a price tag in the wrong spot, and the description on the tag didn't match what it was under, but some shrewd old lady wanted that item for that price (she got a $120 phone for $30!, i wanted to kill whoever put that tag there).

this idea of customer service is ridiculous, people seem to have the idea that if they bitch enough they get what they want. that sounds a lot like a dog barking until they get attention or food, or a little kid crying in the checkout because his parents won't buy him candy.

ANYWAY, sorry, that was practically a blog post. last time i was at target, didn't see anything to report. DMC for $30, age of conan for $10, etc etc.
 
I forgot to mention I saw the Guitar Hero Aerosmith bundle on clearance at the store by me for the PS2. I think it was at the 25% off marked down to about $75.
 
My local Targets just lowered the price of the 120 GB HD for the 360 down to $45 but of course there are none to be found.

I purchased one at the $90 price and still have the receipt. I'ver read posts where some have been able to do a return and rebuy at the service desk (no go at mine - i did ask).

Has any one had any success in returning the HD for the $90 I paid and then waiting for it to get back on the floor? Will it even make it onto the floor?

Anyone have any tips as to when they typically place returned items back on the floor?

If I return it late at night and then stake out the store in the morning, might that work? (I guess I could buy some starbucks coffee and work a stake out of the service desk and hope to see them head out to replace returns onto the floor)?

Just wondering if anyone who has had some success with this might share some tips?

Might be a bit of a Trek for you, but the Denton store had a couple copies left yesterday. The Target in Highland Village had one left on Saturday night, marked $29.98 but scanned $14.98. All for 360 btw. Denton store also had Civ Rev and NGII for 360 @ $14.98 yesterday.

I'm glad to see you're getting plenty of support for this. I did my time in retail many years ago and I'll never forget it - toughest jobs I ever had. I'm glad to see you added that last part; what's the point of taking endless holiday shopper abuse if you can't at least get something cheap out of the deal?

I haven't had time to make a Target run this week - did anyone notice any new Wii games on clearance? Last round at my store was We Love Golf and Order Up!

I think I saw that too. I believe it included 2 guitars - big box (there was only one).
 
I went to both the North Olmsted and Strongsville Targets and found one each of:

Also saw :psp: Hellboy $7.48 and not much else of note.

LOL. Sorry dude, I grabbed two copies of Pure over the weekend (tagged $29.98 but rang up $14.98)..... Can't remember if I saw NGII. I probably did, but it was $29.98 at the time I think. Hope you get lucky and it dropped this week.

If its any consolation, "my" Target up here in Denton had a few more Pure and NGII both for $14.98.

Just return it... go walk around for 5 minutes.. go back to the desk, and say that you change your mind or your brother call and he wants it now, etc.

How often does Target update their stock computer inventory #'s? I looked last night and supposedly 3 stores had 120GB Hard drives in stock, now, today nothing.

WTF!

Was just at the Addison, TX store at Beltline and Marsh. They had one copy Pure (360) at $14.98, a bunch of Devil May Cry (360) $29, R6V (ps3) $19.99, Uncharted (ps3) $41.98(!), Civ. Revo (360) $14.98... I really wanted Uncharted for $14.98, looks like I have to wait. And yes, I scanned it to confirm the price.

Well it is ballsy. I had asked a CSR that I've seen around for years and we have a nodding friendship but I did not ask specifically about the HD just about returns and rebuys with clearance - at any rate the net effect is the same, but I would not be trying the return and rebuy at that store (it's an older store and the staff is well seasoned.) If I did try it, I'd go to a newer location, preferably a lower end traffic region.

But I could try the "brother" line, but I can't believe that they just would not charge me the same amount as when I returned it.

If any thing, I figure I would have to wait for them to take it out to the floor and then try to repurchase it.

I guess I'll have to scout out some store locations to see where I might best play this scenario out.

wow, small world! I was at that Target yesterday after work. I was even considering picking up that last copy of NGII for a gift, but put it back. Happy to hear a CAG picked it up!

Wierd. Do we all go to the same Target? ha. Saw that today as well as a HUGE stack of 20+ games of some Beach sports for the wii at the Allentown, PA ( one near the intersection of 309 and 22 ). The beach game was for 13.xx
I think.

Also found some of the AMF bowling for 10.xx.

This weeks cag mission: get to know your targets entertainment area clerks. haha

I've noticed a cag or two mention Olive Branch Ms, Thats where I live. I also work up in the Wolfchase mall area, so I pass 3 targets a day, plus a 4th just about 10 minutes from my house. Send me a p.m. and maybe we can communicate what the other stores have for each other. OB didn't have much this week... Ninja gaiden 2 finally dropped to $15, and I got the last copy. Also grabbed the last DDRU2 with pad for $35for my bestfriends wife. That was about it as far as I can remember... heading towards work tonight or tomorrow.

I did this many times here in several targets in OC, SoCal. And of course, you should act surprise if the csr mention that the price is lower now. :)

Most of the time, the csr won't remember the price before and after, but you have to spend at least some times to let other people do a return too.

Even if they increase the price, you'll lose nothing. Time maybe.

Y'know, it's actually kind of weird to hear that someone else used to hit up that Target. I realize that I'm not the only CAGer in the WNY area, but I still can't get past the idea that there are CAGers that are that local to me.
 
do they hold items in the stockroom? i would assume no, but i checked online with the locator and when i scanned the barcode at target it said in stockroom, but there was one worker swamped with a line and i had to head to class. ill check back later if they do indeed hold older games in the back, although i can't see why they would. i was just curious since the online locator method and the scanner both said they had it.
