This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy. If you try be sure to bring a smile and a lollipop.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Those 25 copies of Ratchet at $14.98 wouldn't last more than 2 hours over here at my Target. There were 3 copies at $29.99 at my Target and they were gone in 1 day.

It should eventually hit $14.98. If there are other copies, just play this copy and return the newer copy with the old receipt. If that was the last copy, then it's really up to you. Paying $30 for a $60 game is not bad for some CAGs.

You can also try to return and rebuy at another Target with the lower price point.

Medina, OH Target had 5-6 GH Aerosmith PS3 for 12.xx. The only other games that I saw were DMC4 (360) 24.xx and 1 copy of RBSV1 for PS3 for 14.xx.

If you believe it will be cheaper soon, you should return (or attempt) to return it now. If you wait till it goes down to a lower price and then try to return it ...they will only give you back the amount of the new clearance price....so if it goes down to $15....they will give you $15 back...not $30.

Really? I figured they'd give you the price you paid as long as you have the receipt. That's pretty shitty that they won't refund you the price diff if it drops and you keep it but they'll screw you out of the diff if you return it.

They will refund you what you paid with the receipt.

That policy of only getting back the current clearance price is for seasonal merchandise only. For example, if you buy Halloween stuff for 75% off and want to return it and it went to 90% off, you will only get the 90% off price back even with a receipt showing you paid the 75% off price4.

That's never been the case with any Target I've been to. They've always just returned it at the price on the receipt, well after the price had dropped.

Yep - that's correct. You get refunded the full price. A month or so ago I spotted the Psyclone 360 chargers for $20.98, so I picked one up. A few weeks later I spotted them for $14.98, so I picked that one up, too. I was meaning to return the 1st one, but I lost my receipt for the original purchase of $20.98. So, instead I returned them both last week and got refunded the full amount I paid for both of them. And, as luck had it, a few days later I came back to the store and picked one up for $7.48. Good times.

Well, I went to the Target in Allen Park, Michigan and they had Golden Axe PS3 marked in the case at $41.98 without clearance stickers on any of the copies. I also saw Madden 08 Collector's Edition for $44.98 and a few copies of Devil May Cry 4 360 for $14.98.

I wish DMC4 would drop to $7.98 then it be worth it to me since I already owned on PS3.

Not to nitpick but I think if DMC did drop again, it would be to $5.99 which is 90% off of $59.99. I have heard of games going to 90% off but it is rare. I would think they would do that since some stores had over 15 copies at $14.98.

Yes they are compatible, but $50 is pretty much standard price now. You should be able to find it cheaper.

I ended up getting Spiderman 3 (360) for $7.48, Super Stars Tennis (Wii) for the gf at $7.48, some random bowling game for the Wii for $3.74, and a random boxing game for the Wii at $4.98. All will be gifts except for Spiderman 3.

Keep checking...they could be found if hidden, or maybe they have them in a case hidden by other games, or in the back somewhere etc. Almost all of us have been surprised to find a game that either vanished weeks ago or that the store never even had to begin with.
