This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I wonder how long these games will hold out since the big Xmas rush which cleaned house. I knew for a good couple of weeks I could count on DMC4 until it hit 15. Now I'm hoping these games will hold out that long. I really want Lego Batman at under 20 if it makes it. I don't know if I would pay over 12.98 for Too Human. I'd probably wait to see if it made 90% clearance.
 
Feel kind of dirty buying Viva Pinata:TiP at the first drop to $20.98 but the first game was pretty fun/underrated so I didn't necessarily want to miss out. They only had a couple extra copies and I wasn't sure they'd even survive at $20, but I'll try to swing by Monday and hope for a drop. I may keep it sealed for a while just in case a better price comes along from somewhere else.

Just open your copy and if you do find a better deal, return the 2nd copy to Target within 90 days. I'm sure that there are those that will say "OMG!, IT'S THE FRAUD!" but sometimes I buy games and if I find them elsewhere cheaper (even used), I will return the game to Target (if it's still sealed). IMO, it's the same difference.

It's NOT return fraud if he bought a sealed copy from Target and returned a sealed copy of the same game back to Target with that receipt. It's called using their return policy.
 
Found Facebreaker($13), Lego Batman($30), Ace Combat 6($20), and Viva Pinata TiP(20). I hid them and am gonna wait for the next drop.
 
Picked up a shark boom chair for $27 and found a pack of Rayovac AA batteries for $8 and it had a coupon for $5 off of any electronic device so I got the chair for $22 - just tried it out and for that price it is highly recommended -- decent quality seat (although the height issue for taller folks might bother some - I'm 6'3 and it doesn't bother me) the sound is better than I expected and I like the individual controls for sound/rumble/bass that you can turn any of them off individually) - also picked up Virtual fighter for 360 for $13 -- all at the route 8 target in Pittsburgh-- fyi the chair was on a totally random end-cap not sure if there were more or not

I found the same in Monroeville PA and grabbed 1 for myself and 1 for friend for online dueling. Great game so far. They also had Lego Batman Wii at $25, many copies of Fracture and lots of VF5 PS3 titles. Also got some wicked sweet Batman stickers from the dollar bin and just saw today that my receipt came with a $5 off $50 coupon for my next stock-up.

Haven't seen this reported yet...Gran Turismo 5 Prologue was at 30% off today.

A lot of toys and sporting goods went to 75% off today too. Finally got the 25th anniversary Optimus Prime for $17.50. Picked up two junior golf sets for $12.50, an air matress for $25, and I was going to get an arcade hockey table game for $35 but I knew my wife would kill me since we have no room for it.
 
Grabbed the Optimus Prime for $17.50 here too (Evansville, IN) They had other Transformers at 75% off (All X-Mas clearance toys were), but I have no idea what any of them are..... hum....
 
Hey CA-based CAGs, I'm in need of a massive favor. My friends and I are making a flight simulator pod for my Advanced Aircraft Engineering teacher and were nearly done with it. However, I thought a perfect final touch to this would be to add either the Commander or Shark Gaming Chair/Rocker to give it a more realistic experience. I cannot find any of these near me and lack the mobility to go out more than a couple miles. If any of you pass by a Target with either of these in stock, please buy it for me. You're nuts, Koju! Thanks for grabbing more DPCIs and prices! I've been busy running around town buying Gripshifts and PS2 network adapters (no one else is biting so I figured I would) so whenever a Gamestop is next to a Target, I run in and grab a DPCI here and there. But you've been doing work!

Clearance has really ramped up, got many titles I'm going to wait on seeing for 75%. I'm waiting for the damn Leapfrog Didj handheld to drop more. It's on clearance, in some Target bundle with the Star Wars Clone Wars game for 44.98. 75% puts it at 20 something. I wanna grab the system so I can play the Sonic game they have for Didj. It's a spelling game, but in it they mash together Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 (Genesis) levels and objects together. I mean, the screenshot on the back of the box shows Sonic 3's Sonic sprite in Emerald Hill Zone, a Sonic 2 level, with the cannon from Carnival Night Zone, from Sonic 3, randomly placed there. It's nuts!

Okay I'm done geeking out.

... and apparently Sonic can yo-yo and do the Moonwalk in it too!

Because that's the cheapest reported instore price for Too Human. Interesting that it is 19.99 online, though. Unfortunately, in my experience, MSRP changes will not take effect in the middle of an item's clearance. For example, that's why when the first Viva Pinata went on clearance, the % deductions at some stores started at 29.99 and 19.99 at other stores. Most stores had adopted the new 19.99 pricing in their system before the clearance, but others had lagged behind, so the 29.99 never got updated since the clearance interrupted with them.

Long story short, Too Human is still 39.99 instore, making it a 9.98 title when it hits 75% off.
 
I think Fracture has a universal price drop to $19.99 for both PS3 and 360. I saw it at Best Buy and Toys R Us. So visit the other stores before getting it at Target if you want it.

just wondering, should I wait for too human to hit 9.98? how long will it be until I see that price drop? thanks

There's no way to tell for sure. Target decides when (and if) they will drop the prices. For instance, Unreal Tournament 3 stagnated at 19.98 and finally, after nearly a month and a half was taken off of clearance entirely. There's always the small chance it will not hit 9.98, and of course, always the posibility it is bought up before the 9.98 price point.

Assuming typical conditions take place, I would guess the first wave of people reporting Too Human for 9.98 will be in late February, perhaps early March.

Picked up virtual fighter 5 for 360 for $15 at my local target(last one, had some PS3 versions still). Some titles are still hiding behind the case. Everything is still only 30%.

ok thanks for clearing that up for me.

another question though, Too Human really isn't in high demand right, so it probably has an okay chance of lasting till that price...I know my target has more than 5 behind the glass. But then again I could just order online and use my giftcard, and get it for about 15. anyways thanks, i'll be on the look out for it.

How are your Targets still stocked with games like Ace Combat? Every Target around here shrunk their 360 games to just one cabinet which only leaves room for the newest stuff and they are stocking less copies of those as it is. Funny since there are three Wii game cabinets full of games for a system that only has a handful worth owning.

All the targets by me have a whole side of nintendo, with 2 360 cases, 1 ps3, and 1 ps2/ps3 overflow case. I only play sony systems, so it is frustrating trying to find games.

Ace Combat 6 kind of lives in its own universe, or did. My Targets still had it within the last few months and for $59.99, while other games that were a year old were $39.99, $29.99 or less, or simply not stocked anymore. Looks like it's mortal after all, though, as I saw a couple copies on the clearance shelf for ~$13 the other day. Only one store, though - I think the others are out of stock and didn't need to clearance it.
 
I picked up Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise with the Target bonuses for 20.98 because I've wanted it for a while now.

My Targets don't seem to go any lower than 30% off on video games
 
I got Mercenaries 2. Lots of copies left because they have a demo stand on the cabinet and the TV is blocking the view of the game.

Didn't see anything else worth it just GHIII for the Ps3 for $35.(No Guitar) Not really a deal.

If you have absolutely nothing else to play and are short of anything to do, then go ahead.

I bought it for $10 and sold it before playing it. The friend I sold it too told me it wasn't worth $10, and from his feedback, it deserved the poor rating it received.

hey i picked one of those up yesterday!! i've been eyeing that set for the past couple weeks. went a little nuts and spent over 80 bucks worth in toys. mostly xmas presents. i'd rather spend 80 bucks now on REALLY good toys than wait until christmas and get the kids overpriced crappy toys.

Ellicott City MD has the Joe sets for $16 - about 8 left.
Columbia MD has the Joe sets for $14 - about 10 left.

I got one for my son, and he is going to be psyched!
