This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Yep, the Target at Brandywine always do it when I take stuff back, you're right, it's very wasteful. Maybe they've had a big problem with people returning empty boxes.

I see PS2 copies all the time in Target. I bought the 360 edition at BB, however.
 
When I returned 2 Guitar Hero Bundles, my local Target did the same thing and opened the boxes to check to see if the guitar and games were there. They were on clearance for $24.98 and out of the system so I guess they sent them back somewhere.

Iridium Runners and Pirates: Legend of the Black Buccaneer for $4.98 each. I got them for $2.48 at another Target earlier this week so I figured I would return the more "expensive" copies.

Yep, this actually happened at the Brandywine Target. Now that I think of it, they also opened a factory sealed Cursive CD when I returned it after getting it cheaper at Best Buy. Maybe they have had a problem at that store with people returning empty cases after resealing games (though, again, these were clearly factory sealed which is nearly impossible to imitate with a standard shrinkwrap machine).

Noticed Endless Ocean and Nights for the Wii are still old prices. I recently saw both for $14.98 and $7.48 respectively. In other words, 50% off.
 
I'm guessing we're getting into that Summer lull again. I don't recall many good discounts around this time last year until the end of Summer.

^Considering how that ended prematurely last year due to fraud, I would be extremely surprised to see Target do something like that again.
 
Also, pickings were sort of slim during the $10 coupon. I think more people were psyched at the idea of getting free games than they were of actually getting good games for cheap.
 
Wheelman was tagged with a red clearance sticker for $49.98. Still high, but should be continue to drop. BTW, BB should have it on sale for $29.99 this weekend if you can't wait.

Cant take credit for that,, I havent picked up 1 copy of Mirrors Edge yet, only saw 1 copy at the Hodges/Beach Blvd target, left it and picked up Aftro Samurai and Far Cry 2 for the 360 instead..

Yeah I stopped by the Target in Pheasant lane mall, Nashua NH a couple of days ago and they basically had zero PS3 games on clearance. There were tons of PS2 and PSP games. Picked up PSP MLB The Show '08 for like $7.50. This used to be a good location until last year (scored a lot of games), but nothing at all this year.
 
Guys, I know this is not about games but does anyone know if the patio furniture gets the percentage clearancing as well? We always see the "Was/Now" clearance price stickers on the games but they often ring up cheaper than that. Has anyone had a similar experience with patio furniture ringing up cheaper than stickered? Thanks.

buy patio furniture in september, you'll get it for next to nothing. I got a grill an patio set for the same price of the grill at this time last year. Patience is the key

Yes they do but as said above, you have to wait for the season to come to an end for the clearance to start. over the last few years I have picked up 2 $400 outdoor fountains for $100 each on 75% clearance, several woodend $80 lounge chairs for $20 on 75% off, 1 large and 1 small firepit and a patio table and chair set @ 75% off..

Take note that Im in FL and most Targets here will carry outdoor funiture most of the year expect for the winter time.

So now they can no longer sell them as new (granted, clearance) games and from what I was told, will ship them back as defective. Anyone else experience this when you return a still new game?

Yeah, I bought GH: Legends Bundle and when I opened it to play it, it was a PC version, so apparently they don't open up returns at my Target.

This just happened to me earlier this week. I returned SCIV and the lady opened the game and checked for the disc. Actually, I don't think it's all that bad when the game is out of their system.

Last year, I posted how I returned GoW and the lady opened the case to check for the disc, eventhough, GoW was still in there system at MSRP($59.99). Now that, I find to be ridiculous since the game was completely sealed. It seems like a waste of time and money. I'm sure that of all the games that have ever been returned at Target, only a miniscule amount have had the disc switched out.

The one that that ended quickly was the $5 off $25 toy puchcase that was photoshopped to remove the 'toy' part and when scanned would work on anything in the store.
The Xbox one was also a photoshopped coupon, but that one worked, even a few days past the expiration date.

Seems like its gotten to the lull. Pretty slim pickings from 3 Targets I decided to drop by real quick. Was looking for Afro Samurai but no go. Oh well...
 
Ah the famed $10 off 360 stuff. Seems like more than a year ago. Stacks of Viva Pinata, Call of Duty 2, and other games headed to Gamestop for an extra $10 for every 2 at the time. The best of times.

Mirror's Edge (360) $10
Naruto UNS $15
RSv2 (PC) $5

They had a few Mirror's Edge left, 1 far cry 2 (360) for $10 and I spied Endless Ocean (wii) for $15.

Also, Oblivion (PC) was $14.xx
 
Stopped by a third Target tonight in Clifton Park, NY -- sad sight. Looked to be picked clean -- there was a single 360 game on the clearance rack, aside from that were some PS2 GH titles and awful DS games. I did manage to get Company of Heroes (check the trading thread), but beyond that, it was a waste of a trip.

Far Cry 2 and Mirror's Edge sound tempting for $10 a pop and I'm about 15 minutes from the Copaigue store but I just bought Orange Box and I'm still working on RE5. If they were $5 each I would be out the door.
 
Someone returned a wii and wii fit bundle online and brought it to return to the store.

Instead of returning it to target online, we sold is as a clearance item in store

So the $339 dollar price became $237 :) plus another 10% employee discount

Probably my favorite find at Target
 
Augh, yeah couldn't find anything in Houston. I was just looking for Mirror's Edge (PS3) and or Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm for the (PS3). I did find a bunch of Quantum of Solaces' for the PS2 though at the Westheimer location. I also saw Guildwars Nightfall for $8.

Apparently the online stock checker is now starting to not be as accurate, as the store I went to supposedly had ME (PS3) displayed as available and not limited availability, but when I got there I couldn't find it.
 
Probably already mentioned, but picked up Quantum of Solace for PC for $7.48. Great buy. I'm really enjoying it, I assume it didn't settle well with a lot of people due to it's short length, but for under $10 this is a killer game. One of the best Bond games I've played since GoldenEye.
 
Saw Wheelman (PS3) at the target on Cottman Ave in Northeast Philadelphia marked to clearance for 41.98

Was hoping to pick up Afro Samurai but the only copy was being held by an employee :(

Ah...I haven't been to the Roosevelt Mall in years. Is it still there?

Still have not seen a new or clearanced copy of Star Ocean. Hopefully this is one of those titles that the store I frequent gets in after the fact...Like Farcry 2. They never had it whan it was new, and it just showed up on clearance one day.
