This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Has anybody else's Target started to shelve old clearance games at non-clearance prices? My store had Battlefield: Bad Company and Lego Indy for $30. I thought Target didn't stock an item again once it has been clearance. Anybody have any insight on this? I'll probably have to start checking other Targets since my go to one is pulling some funny stuff with clearance items.
 
That happens once in a while, especially when a game is re-released as a Greatest Hits/Platinum Hits game.

Or they just decide to start carrying it again, Disney Sing It Bundle for PS2 is another recent one. It was down to $9.98 and restocked at $29.99.
 
For the Chantilly Target frequenters; I finally saw the hoarder. Middle Eastern guy, black hair, about 5-8, stocky, with glasses. Saw him hide two 360 games, let the electronics guy know who he was. I'm guessing one of his stashes was found recently anyway, as about 3 copies of :ps3:SC IV popped up out of nowhere scanning OOS.

One of my locals started doing this as well.
 
The Las Cruces, NM Target moved the clearance games to the end of the toys section, about 4 aisles away from electronics. They just move it at random it seems here.

Haha, that's where I found Far Cry 2 and Sonic Unleashed yesterday, after I hadn't seen either in the store for a while. Wonder if they were from his stash . . .

Didn't see SC IV when I was there, though -- either they sold them all already, or they found them/you were there after that.

Yes the 360 Afro was clearanced. If you go to Target and it doesn't scan for $14.98, call the cashier a disparaging phrase of your choosing. Then ask for a manager and DEMAND the game be sold to you @ $14.98 because someone on the internet said so. If the manager refuses to budge call corporate to escalate it.


Or you know, read the thread. So what if the OP hasn't been updated for a week. I don't think the OP's purpose in life is to cater to your every whim.

Wow it's all go at the Chantilly Target, just back from there myself, picked up MLB Front Office for $9.98, I was on the fence about it but for $10, what the hell.

The only other 360 game they had was Turok, 3 copies at $14.98.

Yeah, I saw MLB Front Office, but didn't care enough about it to bother for even $10. ;)

I think it must have all come from one found stash, as there's usually never anything worthwhile at the Chantilly store that makes it below the $25 threshold.

Those copies of Turok have been there for ages, though.

Does anyone else laugh at this kind of stuff? I mean, I'm not condoning stashing/hoarding but Jebus sometimes I think those campaigning against it step over the line, especially when people start resorting to stalking a suspected stasher/hoarder around the store and take camera cell pics of them.

After visiting 8 different stores this week I finally found Tiger Woods for $15...no other store had them at all. One store also had PS3 NCAA Basketball 09 (207-24-0207)game for $42...not sure if that has been mentioned before.

Fairlakes had two Mirror's Edge but $20.
Manassas Mall had 2 X-Blades for $15, 2 Sonics for $12.50, and one PS3 Naruto for $15
Gainesville not much but they did put every value and clearance game in those clear plastic security cases like BB has. Never seen this at any Target before.

Target did something completely wasteful when I returned two factory sealed clearance games back to the store. They opened them up right in front of me, even though they were clearly still factory sealed (not the cheap reshrinkwrap) and even had the old target price sticker on them. So now they can no longer sell them as new (granted, clearance) games and from what I was told, will ship them back as defective. Anyone else experience this when you return a still new game?

I did it once last year and it was at a different Target than the one I originally purchased them from. They didn't do much more than glance over them to make sure they were still sealed. Odd that your Target went to so much trouble to see if the game was there. It might have to do with theft, but I could be wrong.

I return games all of the time and have never experienced this. Although when I returned a Zune last year they opened it.

Target in Nashua, NH never has anything in the way of games on clearance. I've been in rather frequently lately as well. Can anyone else confirm? I'm talking The Pheasant Lane Mall Target.

The only time this has occurred was when returning the item at a Target in an area were petty theft seems to occur regularly. Usually Targets where everything is either locked up or in a protective jewel case. Makes me wonder since most Targets around me seem to be securing everything even the bargain priced video game aisle that has a mixture of games from all consoles.

Tough times call for tough measures.

Yep certain targets here in Jacksonville, FL do that. There was actually someone that went to different targets here, buying games, dvds, pc software etc, opening them up, removing the items and replacing with blank disc, resealing them items and then returning the items over a few week period. Eventually people started returning the items with blank disc and thats went these targets started opening all items and returning them as defective. That last for a few months. Now days it depends on who is behind the counter. The last time as about a month ago when I returned to copies of Fracture for the PS3..

I used to live in the area and never saw much at that Target. I used to hit up the Target in Woburn, MA which usually had a decent clearance (not super close I know but...)

What games and how much were they when you returned them? Any reason why you didn't want them?
 
Thanks to everyone, especially the few that had super long posts with drops. I secretly despise those posts even though they help a lot for our list.
