This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

So my store finally dropped many games today

FarCry 2 - $9.98
X-Blades - $14.98
Afro Samurai - $14.98
Naruto: Ultimate Ninja: Storm - $14.98

Now I do have a PS3 and a 360, I really would rather have Afro Samurai for the 360.

I have noticed that Walmart has gotten more strict on their returns, but do you think I can go in and say I got it as a gift, but I only have a 360 and just do an even exchange for the 360 version?
 
picked up Mirror's Edge finally dropped from $29 to $9.98 they had 20+ copies i did see x blades for $14.98 as well as tiger woods 09 for the same price & star ocean for the psp at $27.98
 
Disney: Th!nk Fast :ps2: dropped to $7.48 at the Wilsonville, OR store. Also saw 1 copy of Mirror's Edge :360: for $27.98, 1 copy of X-Blades :360: at $14.98.

Iron Man :wii: and Hulk :wii: also went on clearance, at $20.98 I believe.

Not a good question to ask here Broly.

The Wyomissing, Pa., Target has a good amount of :360: Mirror Edges for 9.xx, and single copies of :360: FIFA 09 and :ps3: Afro Samurai each for $14.xx.

picked up far cry 2 for 360 today...$9.98 plus i had a $5 or so gift card left over from christmas...cant beat far cry 2 for about $5 total! :D

this my first official "score" as everytime ive checked my targets for clearence stuff theyve been the shits.

Ya that is the price for Mirrors Edge for me as well. What gets me is the reports of the really low prices and the 20+ copies. I have about 10 targets in my area and there is like two copies between them all. I feel like there is a Bizaro world out there.
 
Snagged the last copy of :360:Sonic Unleashed for 12.48. Was eyeing the :psp: MLB the Show 08 at $7.48 but decided to skip it.

Sonic unleashed is a pretty good game, just the werewolf levels last too long.

Since you don't think it's so bad, just go into Target and tell them you spent $15 on Afro Samurai but want the 360 version for that price instead. That way you won't have to lie to anyone.

For less than $8, you get another set of buzzers (albeit wired) to use in Buzz :ps3:, in addition to a mediocre Disney trivia game. I think the buzzers are long enough, but I haven't opened mine yet. Probably the cheapest this game will get, as it's already 75% off and it's cheaper than it was at Best Buy last week ($9.99).

I think the online stock checker is pretty accurate, you may have some stashers there. Usually there's only a few copies left when it gets to the point of limited availability. If it's not where the games are, then it might be a stasher. Maybe there's a 5% chance that the stock checker is wrong, but that's not usually the case.

Possible I suppose, though for it to happen at two Targets is odd, and I did see just about every OTHER clearance title between the two stores - Afro Samurai, X-Blades, Sonic Unleashed etc. Anyone else find the stock checker to be reliable?

White Marsh MD - 1 Sonic Unleashed 360 (12.48) and 1 Tiger 2009 360 (14.98) were left as of 5 PM yesterday.

They also have about 50 of these Tru-Tech dual screen DVD systems for 40.98. I've been waiting for them to hit 75%. Anyone get one of these? Just looking for something cheap for the kids for long drives...

Yes. I thought mirrors edge was sold out around me. I used the stock checker. One store was limited availability. So I went there, I didn't see it in the case or on the endcap. But I was looking around and noticed they had trays with clearance games almost hidden behind a post. There was one copy of Mirrors Edge. Still $27.98, but it was there.

I never have the luck of either having the game or it being cheap. it's one or the other.

I purchased one before Christmas 2008 traveling through WI. It was 50% on sale. It was back to full price on the return trip. It paid for itself on the one trip for all the peace it brought.

Notes:
The connections seemed to loosen up a bit causing the remote display to lose signal. This could be due to extra pulling or stepping on the cables, but we are talking about using this for kids, so some added stress should be expected. A bit of skipping or blinking out was reported from the back seat and I believe it was the connection rather than the bumpy roads.

The remote display has a brightness adjustment which was needed when the direction of the sunlight changed. The player display did not have the adjustment probably due to the player taking all the internal space.

Overall, the player unit seems a bit cheap (plastic).

Just some info for those considering a purchase. FYI - I bought another at $40.

Anyone seeing a drop for Company of Heroes Gold edition? My store has 3 and I want to pick up all of them for a Podcast I plan on starting soon.
 
The target in Royersford, PA always has PS3 games on the clearance area at the back of the store. I don't have a PS3 but seeing how many games that I want hit that shelf for the PS# makes me want to get one just save on money.
 
Stopped in at the Target near my office during lunch today, and was pleasantly surprised to find :360: Far Cry 2 for $9.98 and :360: Sonic Unleashed for $12.48. Both of those games had disappeared from the shelves long ago at much higher prices, so I'm assuming that the store employees found some hoarder's stash and put it back on the shelf. :lol:

Hell, I'm not sure that I even really wanted either game (I've already got a huge backlog thanks to other recent sales), but I bought both just out of the shock of actually finding a decent deal at a Target around here for once!

Oddly, Turok was still $14.98, which it's been sitting at there for weeks now. Even the hoarders don't seem interested. I don't know why they don't lower it more just to get it out of there at this point.

I guess I'll chime in.. anyone in the DFW area looking for Mirror's edge for $10 the target on Cooper by the Parks mall had 3 or 4 copies left yesterday..
 
I hit the Abbington, PA target at lunch. NOTHING. Stacks of PS3 games for $19.99.
I still need mirrors edge and a good deal on Lost Planet (x360)
 
Went to my nearby Target today and picked up Naruto Ninja Storm (PS3) and X-Blade (360) for $14.98 each. They had like 20+ copies of Mirrors Edge (360) but still marked at $19.98.
