This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.
What is the deal with The Ship (PC), is it any good?
This game was great fun when it first came out, it is strictly multiplayer though, and I don't know if people still play it.

Me and my buddies used to have a blast with it though.

I found Bourne, The Last Remnant, Blitz II, Fracture, and Too Human at my Target yesterday. Bourne scanned for $29.99, as did TLR. Blitz, Fracture, and Too Human scanned for $19.99. I was pretty pissed.

Oh and I found SC IV and GH Aerosmith and they scanned for $29.99 each as well.

I saw a stack of 22" Westinghouse monitors at my Target, marked down to $174.XX.

Those might be one to keep an eye on in a couple of weeks.

I also saw all the games you guys have mentioned, but not really interested in any of the recent clearance games.
I don't believe I was bitching, but anyway, you continue to post your location and the clearance games that are available at your local Target. I'm not stopping you from doing that. Just don't come crying back in this thread when they don't hit 75% off and sell out at 50% off. You underestimate the amount of lurkers on this site and the effect they have on stores in your area.
Trust me, the lurkers already know about Target clearance and aren't waiting for a specific post from you so they can run out and claim your prizes before anyone else can. Target has constant traffic and the shoppers are always on the lookout for clearance stuff regardless of the existence of this thread. I watch ding-bat moms looking at and buying clearance games all the time and I doubt they're going home to check CAG to see if they missed anything.

Apologies for sounding like an ass in my earlier post. It wasn't directed specifically at you. I just re-read it and realized I should have worded it better. The constant crying about hoarders and people buying all the games after telling locations prompted me to lash out at the nearest target.

And I went to 2 Targets yesterday in Fenton and Hartland, MI and saw Rock Band Track Pack 2 (PS3) & Haze for 7.48.
But I've never seen such deals at Target before. That's why I don't understand.
They are nearly impossible to find if you aren't looking for 'em. Look aroun near he DVD/Gaming endcaps for the clearance rack.

I used to work at Target. We had "clearance shopper" regulars... tons of them. Those shoppers that new exactly when "price change team" was scheduled to come through the area in which they were waiting for particular items to drop to 50% or more. Unfortunetly, many of these shoppers do tend to stash stuff prior to the next price change to try and insure that they get what they want at that price.

It was always interesting to stumble across hiding spots when zoning at night.

Target puts clearance merchandise on back endcaps, or those endcaps that don't face the main isle. Occasionally, they will have entire clearance runs or isles, but thats usually after a holiday to purge the entire back room of seasonal toys or merchandise.

With the video games, generally if the games are on clearance but still in the 41 dollar range, they leave them in the glass case but marked with red stickers and a clearance shelf tag. After that price point, they are on the back endcaps in electronics.

I tried finding Blitz The League II yesterday, but was told that it is no longer being carried in stores, and is online only, which is still $20.

I'll have to check and see if they are on clearance at my Target too. I need a new monitor. Thanks for the info.

I got off work early yesterday, and drove down to this Target, and got the last :360: TR:U for $15
(at about 3pm) There was only one SCIV left there.

Everything else looked cleaned out.
wtf, I was there twice yesterday and there weren't any SCIV.

I checked:

The glass case
The "video game sale" aisle.
The clearance games in the black boxes on the end of the aisle three or so aisles down from the games.

Where did you find it?
I happened to be walking by when the worker was there talking about the clearance game prices, and opening up the case for someone else.
He mentioned TR:U was down to $15, and I asked if there were any left.

He dugg waaaaaay into the back of the glass display case, and scooped out 1 copy of :360:TR:U (which I bought), and 1 copy of :360:SCIV, which I have no interest in (nor did the other guy), so he put it on the front row of the display case.
For which I'm sure it sold promptly after that.

I stopped by another local Target on my way home last night, and they had 12 copies of :360:TR:U left. They had finally pulled them out of the glass case, and put them on an isle "end cap". They were still all priced at $30 though :(

Some games (at least at my Target) get left in the glass case. Like we have Rock Band Track 2 packs for PS3 that are marked at 7.50 and they are still in the glass case.

My Target marks stuff down on Thursdays. Went in at 11:00, but I guess I was too early today, maybe tomorrow. Now its story time!

I picked up a movie that I thought about buying, and looked around for a while (20 minutes maybe). I was looking in the toys and decided I would not buy the movie, maybe tomorrow (hopefully with a nice pickup of clearance games). So I just set the movie down. As soon as I walk away I hear over an employees walkie talkie thing "The suspect just set the game down and walked away." I'm not that creepy looking and am in there all the time, but nothing like that has ever happened. I would never steal anything (unless you count buying clearance :p). Pretty weird. . .

Very odd. Sounds like an overzealous employee trying to give you a scare, if anything.

Yeah, at first I freaked out, but then I figured I have never done anything wrong to Target, so no reason to freak. I work at Goodwill, and if they see someone suspicious, they make nonsense announcements like that. If I were wearing a trenchcoat in this weather, I could see suspicion, but not in shorts and a t shirt. . . Oh well, I'll be back first thing tomorrow morning and scoop up tomb raider and soul caliber if they mark 'em down today.

OP, please add this item as it has been lingering for a quite a while now.
[207-00-0776] Official PlayStation 2 Force 2 Wired Controller Blue by Katana.
The price is $20.49. I presume it's cheaper elsewhere.

I stashed the games I mentioned before behind a GH Box in one of the aisles. The Last Remnant, SC IV, and GH Aerosmith I couldn't hide because he put them back in the glass case. Going to check another Target today.

thanks for the info, that's pretty much what I'm experiencing right now in my local target. how long do you think it will take to drop from 41 dollars to 15?

Also, i notice the TC: end wars are being replaced with the game and blue tooth head set. Maybe that's why the game itself i so cheap.
Clearance game drops are done on Mondays, so new prices should be effective afternoon, right?
I'm not sure. i think it varies because my target tells me they have price drops every Wednesdays.
Fracture
:360: - $19.98
:ps3:- $14.98

That's about it. Kinda weird how the PS3 version is cheaper than the 360 version though. Is that a normal thing?
this supports my theory how the ps3 is less popular in the east because majority over there are xbox people since you live in FL. I think it has to do with diversity and population. Any way, the ps3 on the east cost a lot more than the xbox 360 games. we see xbox games for 15 bucks very often.

Last monday I grabbed all the games I wanted and found a girl with the gun and had her print me the stickers for the games that dropped. Worked and I didn't have to wait til the afternoon when they got to that department.

Stopped by the Great Northern Target, but I didn't see much on the shelf other than Too Human, Unreal Tournament, GH: Aerosmith, and Bourne Conspiracy for the :360:.

Just wow. I wish the employees I see were that nice. I asked what day they do markdowns one time and all I got was "it depends." Which it does not, its always on Thursdays.

No, it's not always Thursdays and if I worked at Target I wouldn't be nice to a dick like you either.

I think he meant it's always on Thursday at his local target, why is he a dick for asking what day mark downs are, don't be a douchebag

Were they already in the system at the lower price? Why does it matter if you have the sticker or not?
Were they already in the system at the lower price? Why does it matter if you have the sticker or not?
I think for clearance items an employee has to scan the actual product with their pricing gun before the price is adjusted in the system.
I think for clearance items an employee has to scan the actual product with their pricing gun before the price is adjusted in the system.
i doubt that, then whats the whole point on using the self scan machine?
i doubt that, then whats the whole point on using the self scan machine?
True story as far as I know ... I have seen people hunt down Target employees that are manually scanning items and ask them to re-scan it to get a lower price. This is probably why most Targets do it before or after hours, because ravenous hoarders will literally go up with a cart full of merchandise and ask them if the prices have changed. When the items are scanned, the price is updated and it also spits out an update red clearance tag ... crazy ...

Went today to the target in somersworth, nh and couldnt find anything...i scanned some of the psyclone chargers and they all came up full price. and i actually brought a list of the clearanced games people have been reporting, and they had none of them besides The Witcher for PC, which rang up 39.99

needless to say, i left pretty disappointed, was hoping to find a Too Human...or atleast something...anything lol, oh well.
I think for clearance items an employee has to scan the actual product with their pricing gun before the price is adjusted in the system.
So wait....even if I bring the clearence item to the register it will still ring up incorrectly, and the only way to know the true price is too have an employee scan it with the price checker?

*is confused*

Just got back from Target, and got Mass Effect for $20. I found out when I got home that that's the regular price of it now. I'm still going to keep it though. I figured it won't go on clearance at my Target since there were only 3 copies left.

I still believe that my Target never puts items on clearance. boo

To be frank, I can't confirm this does work in EVERY Target throughout the country. But the several stores in my area, do not require that someone physically marks the items with an updated price sticker. In other words, no matter the sticker, the only way to truly find it's current price is to scan it, as the system automatically updates the drop.
No, it's not always Thursdays and if I worked at Target I wouldn't be nice to a dick like you either.
HAHA OH YEA FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT LETS fuck SOME SHIT UP!!!!

I checked another Target, and they had probably half the games on the 360 list. All scanned for higher prices than listed. I hid some in the toy department, and I'll check back in a week or so.

I don't think this is really true. Can't verify it, but I have taken a UPC scan sheet of barcodes to stores that don't even have the game in stock and it will show a price drop when it's finally entered in the system when weeks before it was higher priced.

Yup, I've done the same before and got the same result.

Picked up (all 360):
Fracture $10
Too Human $10

Saw (All 360):
Tomb Raider $29.99
Soul Caliber 4 $29.99
The Last Remnant $29.99

Just got a LE FABLE II for 18.70 including tax, so it looks like it did hit 75 percent off. Got it at a target in miami.

Just for those who doubted the other guy.

It wasnt there days ago, and it had a 48.xx tag on it. Looks liek it was hidden and popped up.

Also, for the Cobra hiss tank battle pack, I got it for 13.74 after it scanned out of system.
Have someone with a hand gun tell you the price at the cash register. They can manually enter the price for something that is out of system after they pull up the item price on the hand scanner the employees carry.

Looks like you found someone's hidden treasure.:D

Also, another thing to add about my visit...the guy at the electronics department kept peeking his head in to the aisle i was in, it made me extremely uncomfortable, he asked if i needed help with anything at first, i said no just looking, and he kept checking back (i was the only one in the game section...) and for some reason their were 2 police officers (badges, guns, uniforms) not security guards, standing with their arms crossed in the middle where the electronics register is.

it was a really uncomfortable environment to be shopping at, so i probably wont be heading back there again for electronics, (the other sections of the store werent like this tho)

Im trying hard not to laugh.... or maybe cry.. but I have been going to target twice a week now trying to get some decent deals, My latest visit I saw a girl working the electronics booth , And I asked her where the clearance isle is, because lately Ive found some by pharmacy, some by housewares, and the craziest was by stationary. Anyway she said they didnt have any games on clearance. Blew my mind. So while im standing there a lady beside me asks to see a camacorder red with 30 gig harddrive that was on clearance. She reaches down and opes the slide door to the cabinet and what do i see.... a freakin load of games. I asked her Nicely, May I see some of those. She said no that they had to pulled and sent back to the manufacturer. Since i have friends that are store employees I asked them about this after I left. They told me she was probebly holding them for someone or planning on purchasing them herself, which is illegal in targets law book but what can you do.
So long story sh.. Long, any chance of grabbing a few from that store went out the window.. Oh it was parma btw. she had like 4 last remnants and fable le is what I could make of the at least ten she had stored there.
Anyway, for those who feel unlucky like me, just remember our day will come. Just keep fishin...
