This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I won't repeat, but I can confirm I have seen all of the above titles at 30%. Looks like the PS3 RB bundles have cleared out at $69. I figured they would.

I started to put mine back in the box to sell as I upgraded to the RB2 kit from the TRU deal in December.

I cased some of my local stores for deals and noticed all of the above (Xblades, Afro Samurai, etc). I also noticed that a couple of stores had a LOT of stock of nifty Sony noice-canceling earbuds. $50 from $100. I think I'll jump for one for $25 if they're still around in a week or two.
Hey , does anyone know if Xblades is going to be on clearance soon ?
Actually yes! I even saw this picture earlier in the thread:

+1,
I'm also hoping to see the Jabra bluetooth cell phone car speakers to drop to 25 as well.

Saw 3 copies of Tomb Raider for the xbox for 14.xx! Wanted so badly to pick one up but wifey was with me and scorned me for all my recent game purchases.... sadly she is correct. Like many of you my backlog of games is overflowing.
It's not about confirming as much as it is telling where you found said item on clearance. A lot of deal hunters will travel to get their deals, and I see nothing wrong with posting where you found it and that it's in stock at said location.
You're forgetting the fact that most people who post don't post their location and its not listed in their profile information, granted its due to hoarders and other non-sense. So people are just posting that they obtained "item-x on clearance" whereas its been made clear 20 pages ago, that the item did in fact go on clearance two weeks ago.

Nothing new at the Targets in my area besides those games that have already been mentioned. At several Targets, I've noticed that the PS2 case is completely empty but the games are not out on the floor (besides those in the value section). I know that there really wasn't much in there to begin with but is Target doing away with all their PS2 games? Anyone else notice this in their area?

LOL, same here. Always leave the wife at home when going to Target, Costco, TRU, GameStop, GameCrazy, Best Buy, etc.

Anyone tried putting a UPC image on a cell phone and using the Target scanner to scan the cell phone's screen with the UPC image to check the prices of games?

If you're going to target today, put the following UPC image on your phone and see if the scanner will read the UPC image:

Xbox 360 - Tomb Raider Underworld

i go to the oxford valley, PA store, and have not noticed this. they still have a single case for ps2 games. in fact ps2, ps3, and xbox 360 all have one glass case with games, and the wii has three. thats kinda funny.

I guess I am pretty lucky because my wife picked me up 5 new games at Target for less than $15 each. She know I have a huge backlog of games because of my pursuit of my 10th prestige on COD WAW.

Nothing new on clearance at my Target, which is a good thing!

For those that print out UPC bar codes and take them to Target to check prices on games using the scanner, you may want to put the UPC image on your cell phone.

I've never actually tried it myself, so I don't know if the scanner will read the UPC code image on the screen of your cell phone. Worth a try.

If anyone wants to try this method, here's a UPC code you can put onto your phone:

Xbox 360 - Tomb Raider Underworld
I'm starting to see what everyone is complaining about with this thread. How many posts do we need confirming that Xblades is $41.98? There's been twenty posts about it on each of the last ten pages.

Let's stick to confirming new drops only.
Seriously? You, of all people, are lecturing people on what's appropriate to post in a thread after brag posting in another thread. How about if you just STfuckU from now on?

I've done this with my iPhone, and I've found that some of the newer scanners will read them with no problem, but I can't ever get the older scanners to do it.

saw this at my local target too but the game looks pretty bad so i'll probably pass....wouldn't mind getting Afro Samurai because Sammy does the voice but the game play does seem kind of childish so not sure about that one either. I wish something good would drop like RE5!

I've been looking at those earbuds too. Just a word of warning, at one of my stores they've been at $50 for like 6 weeks and yesterday are now showing up as out of the system so they may not drop any lower than $50. (Which is too much for me, but if you're really interested in them you might want to buy a set now in case they disappear)
so has x-blades 2 for the xbox 720 gone on clearance yet? looks like an awesome game, but i'm not willing to bite yet.
Lolz..

Wow the xbox 720.....:applause:

Xblades is... subpar. Its a fixed up version of an older game and still needs a lot of work to be considered good. I'd put it on the level of the Rygar remake.

Of course it's on clearance. Now that the 1080 is out, all the 720 games are dirt cheap!

Yeah, if we're gonna go OT, I found a sick Tassimo brewing system at 50% 2 weeks ago...$50. My Target has also been clearancing out the 8-packs of cartridges for this thing, for around $4.00.

I think it's 'last year's' model of this. I can HIGHLY recommend it! I think I'll go have a latte now, actually.

Those were 75% off also and they had a bunch of them. I actually chose the HBeach...

I was going to choose HBeach as well but never pulled the trigger. Now that you mentioned it, I might just bite.

Got: :360:Spiderman: Web of Shadows $12.48

Howeva...

It was the 4th game I have bought at this Target (Falls Church, VA) that was obviously part of a stash. It was marked at 30% off; scanned at 75% (plus, I go to this Target reguarly and this game popped up out of nowhere). Same story on :360:Mercenaries 2, :360:Fracture, and :360:RB SE; all marked 30% and scanned 75%.

Now, I am not trying to jump into a hiding debate; but what ticked me off was that two copies of :360:Too Human also popped up marked at 30% and scanned at..out of system. Ugggggggh. I couldn't convince any of the Target reps to give it to me for $9.98, and since the only sticker on it was the $27.98 one that was the only price they offered me on it. Can't blame em, but seriously hiders, can we have a little honor among thieves? If you hide a game at least go back and buy it or un-hide it before it goes OOS.

Damn you for finding Spidey so cheap!!

Didn't find the brewer tonight but saw:

XBlades Xbox360 $41.98
Bourne XBox360 $14.98 (picked it up)
Bioshock PS3 $19.98
Spiderman WOS PSP $20.98 (I'm waiting for $9.98)
Soul Calibur PS3 $24.98
Afro Samurai PS3 $41.98 (last one picked it up)
PS2 to PS3 Memory card Transfer Thing $3.98 (picked it up)
007 Quantum of Solace PC/Windows $14.98 (picked up)
Naruto : Ultimate Ninja Storm PS3 $41.98

One of the main route overpasses to this TARGET is under demolition until late June, The store was very empty..I may have some better luck the next few months.

I went back to the only Target I've hidden stuff at. And it's not much of a hide, lol. I just put a copy of BiA:HH behind the 360 paintball games. It was still there tonight, which makes a week. And all other copies were gone. Still scanned at $14.98. I don't care that much about it, but if it drops anymore, I'll pick it up.

Streetsboro Ohio Target.

A Madden 09 Collectors Edition popped up from out of nowhere today. It was stickered 62.xx, but I had a redshirt scan it. Scanned out of system, so he rang it up for $20 plus tax. SCORE.

Nothing else that hasn't already been seen elsewhere.

Hmmm, I wonder what the difference is? This idea has occurred to me-- I even think it might be fun to make an iPhone app that generates barcodes when you punch in the code, so you can fish for discounts using the scanner alone. But I'm going to have to test it out to see which stores and scanners it works on.

Thanks for the tip on the earbuds, Justin42. I'm not desperate for them and I hit a few Target stores every Monday for whatever's new, so I won't cry if I miss out.
Are you serious whtwakeup? Not only has a pic been posted above, but the post right before yours answers your question.
He is quite obviously joking..which no one seemed to pick up on. :(

They found my stashed TLR at my Target, and I was bummed. then I went to the game area, and it was hidden back there, lol.

Rang up for $14.98, so I picked it up.

Isn't that already 75% off? A hidden game will never go beyond that, it will just drop OOS, leaving you SOL.

Also, stop trying to backseat mod, I sure as hell don't see "Moderator" anywhere around your name.
It wasn't so much you as it was the people that just post "Saw Xblades $41.98" with no location mentioned. I'm not trying to backseat mod, I get just as annoyed as anyone else when someone swoops in and does that. I was just agreeing with a debate that was occurring 10 or more pages back about whether locations should be posted that somehow turned into a discussion on how the same drops are repeatedly confirmed for no reason.

I'm not trying to call anyone out specifically, it just gets hard to find new drops if all the posts on a given page are "Saw Xblades $41.98" with no location mentioned.

Went in to my Target and two games that haven't been there in a long while popped up in the clearance section, Silent Hill: Homecoming for $14.98 & Unreal Tournament for $9.98. Haven't seen Silent Hill: Homecoming since January in that store. Needless to say I picked it up.

My Target had absolute crap. X-blades for $41.98, some PS3 stuff all pretty high prices, and finally about 35 copies of this crappy DS game called something Gymnastics.

I got :wii: Spiderman: WOS for $12.48 at a Target somewhere in the Orlando area today. I want to say it was either Altamonte Springs or Ocoee, but I'm not too sure.

Thanks for confirming it does work, at least for the newer scanners.:)
