This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I picked up Tiger 09 (360) on Monday for $15. They probably had at least 10 copies on the shelf. Decided to go back to the target today and all copies were gone.
 
Well seems all the Targets in East side Houston area are still not priced for clearance .. Only saw one copy of Mirror's Edge for 29.98 in 3 different Targets.. really disappointed in Houstton area Target's here.
 
The only thing Mirror's Edge could possibly drop to is $7.48, but I wouldn't count on it. Mirror's Edge is a steal for $10. I bought it at full price and thought it was worth it.

Mirror's Edge at $10-$20 is a steal in itself. I wanted to buy the game at full price but didn't have the cash .. so I got it the moment I heard it was $20.

So on my home from BB (picked up 360's Bourne), I stopped by a Target and found a copy for $10. I bought it and went to the other Target (only 10 min away and even closer to home) and returned for a $15.xx refund.

Sidenote: I visited 3 targets today and only found 2 bottles of purrell in the cashier aisles. Krazee Swine Flu.

I think Mirror's Edge for $10 is a lost cause for me. The only two targets that I knew had the game in stock, are sold out.
 
question does target actively keep track of these games? Like will they be Like OMG A copy or mirrors edge is not over here in the clearance!?!?!?!? Because i hid a copy since it was stil 29.99, how long does it take to drop?
 
Insane that X-Blades is down to 15! Still not going to pick it up. However I DID pick up Dark Sector on Cheapy's advice and DEFINITELY worth the 4.98 I paid for it.

I loved the first half of it, hated the second. it has great ideas, then repeats them ad nauseam and with less finesse than the first half of the game.

At it's best(first half) Mirrors Edge is better than AC.

But the last half of the game is so terrible that is really sours the entire game.
 
I picked up mirror edge for 20 bucks. I know I could wait and get it for 10 bucks but it was the last one. They still Afro samurai for 50 bucks.

The type of people that shop at target think Purrell, an antibacterial soap, will stop swine flu.

Actually, I was thinking the same thing and checked, Purell hand sanitizer is apparently alcohol based which should be enough to kill viruses on your hands, as long as you use enough and actually do a good job.. it's not just an antibacterial.
 
I was able to get Far Cry 2 (360) today for $9.98. Funny thing is I traded the game in a while ago when it got good cash...so this will let me finish it (hopefully)

So stay away from people who are coughing and hacking and wash your hands. That's a herculean task isn't it? Yeah, Hazmat suits are certainly the only viable answer:roll:. How is it that not everyone in the world has a cold? Or the normal flu? This new flu is just as easily avoided as all the other ones.

Antibacterial soaps and hand cleaners truly are the average person's best defense against not only the swine flu but any sickness, and I usually always carry a pocket sized one when I'm going out shopping because the mall and other places (walmart and target) are full of germs. (no I'm not a paranoid freak about it, but I prefer not getting sick and throwing up or possibly dieing).

Stopped by my local store this afternoon. I guess they're a little behind because the just put Afro Samurai :ps3: on clearance at $41.98. Another store just a few miles down the road had it a couple days ago for $14.98.

Saw a crapload of ABBA's for $9.98 each and a few other worthless DS titles.
 
I was hoping I'd be able to get Far cry 2 or Web of Shadows for less than 30 but neither of them survived. Now theres just a bunch of naruto ps2 games and one 30 dollar copy of xblades left :(

I don't have anything against antibacterials, but it won't help you against swine flu or "any" sickness. It only kills bacteria, no viruses. Always a good idea to use it, though.
 
Local Target had almost every remaining PS2 game on clearance and had removed all PS2 games from the case. I'm guessing PS2 has run its course. Saw the following:
Speed Racer (9.98)
Kingdom Hearts (GH) (9.98)
SOCOM Navy Seals (9.98)

Oddly enough the Wii shovelware endcap was completely barren. Not sure what the hell happened there.

I've seen the same. Maybe they are going to have another sale?
I need to go Monday and see what the stores have.

Picked up 360 Fifa 09 for $15; could have waited for it to be $10 but it's the only one I've seen in 6 stores around Houston. Also picked up Afro Samurai for $30 but after reading it was $15 at some places, I took it back and just take my chances.

Yes...

But if you want a more serious answer, the reason you see less PS3 games on clearance is because the PS3 has a much smaller library in general with the least amount of games coming out. In the end, there isn't as much motivation to clear out old titles to make room for new ones.

Also there's less PS3s sold vs Xbox 360 so since there's more customers out there to buy Xbox 360 games not only do they produce more titles for that console but also MORE copies per title for the 360 which means say a game like Gears of War 2 it is so popular that there's no reason to put it on clearance until GoW3 comes out vs Facebreakers which was crap and didn't sell well so it went on clearance within a month of being released. What does this mean, get both a 360 and PS3 if you have one or the other already or if you are trying to decided between both and are on a budget, well then get a 360 already!
 
Not sure if this is national, but I was at the local Target (in Peabody, MA) and they had the new X-Blades game on clearance already for $29.88! That JUST came out, right?!?!

Nothing else worth noting, really. Somebody cleaned them out. Only had a few Maverick Hunter X PSP games for $9.98.

EDIT: Or, as is the case, I'm an idiot, and it actually came out in February. Oops.

it's electronics transition time. All the stuff gets moved around and redone, notice the heavy amount of general electronics clearance the last few weeks

Just compare the game library of 360 vs Ps3! Also i'm a member on several Video Game Trading Sites and all of them have 10 times the games for trade on the 360 vs PS3. It's simple math....if there's 50,000 people who have the PS3 version of say Soul Calibur 4 but there's a 500,000 people who have the Xbox 360 version there's gonna be a much better chance you'll see that game for trade. Now the publishers of say SC4 know that there's much less PS3 consoles out there so when they produce copies of that game they'll produce much less so therefore a store will have say a 500 copies of the 360 version but will only get 50 copies of the PS3 version. So it'll be much easier to clear out the stock of the PS3 version vs the 360 which is why we see way more 360 things go on clearance. This is why i buy most of my games for the 360!!
