This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

In most states, purposefully switching or removing price tags falls under petty larceny and is a class A misdemeanor punishable with up to a $1000 fine and 12 months jailtime.

I once had a new cashier scan the actual red clearance tag with the gun about 5 - 6 times before I suggested she try the barcode...she related to you?

They must have sold/been re-stashed, I put them back on Tuesday. I live in Bolton, MA, but enjoy driving and getting cheap shit so I hit a lot of stores in the area. I'll keep my eyes out for it this week, going looking for Too Human tomorrow.

EDIT: They've been sold, they no longer appear on the Availability Tracker. Doesn't look like I'll have any luck finding it for you but will try.
 
3 targets near me didn't really have anything.
Picked up Last Remnant for 14.98 and Rock Revolution for 9.98.
Picked up Tomb Raider as well.

Was hoping to find a Fracture or a Fable 2 CE, oh well.

I'm not actually going to switch the tags. If I were, I'd have done it today. The lone copy of UTIII was finally on the clearance endcap instead of behind the glass but it was still $27.xx. I was just thinking it'd be nice to find that for $10 and stupid Fracture was right next to it.

I guess I should have asked if anyone else did this, instead of sounding as if I was going to. Thanks for the warnings though.

Oh and also, didn't notice the Too Human or Last Remnant that had been there previously. Although there are several games in the glass just laying on the bottom in a stack so it's impossible to tell what's there.
 
i put a copy of lost remnant on a stack of some pink boxes on the clearance shelf, but it was out of view. it's literally an inch from all the copies of guitar hero aerosmith and tomb raider.

and it hasn't moved in a week

am i too much of a cheap ass gamer to buy this at $15?

maybe i should check tomorrow again...

edit: it was the shiny silver one. could have been infinite undiscovery. i lose track.

Well, in all likelihood the cashier would scan the game without looking, and the real price would pop up. In order to get your fake price you would have to point out your fake sticker. In which case, the cashier would have to punch in the DPCI, and then see the title of a different game pop up on the screen. You would then probably be charged with a Class B Misdemeanor after they reviewed the security tapes. At your sentencing you would probably get about $100 fine.

So...yeah, bad idea.
 
saw my store moved the clearance section more near the front of the electronics rather than off to the side.

nothing I wantd but I did see SC IV for PS3 added to the stacks... was set for $37... I'll wait for a $14 drop.
 
Behind the glass case, I noticed a few (4 or 5) ps3 games in paper sleeves, disc only, marked with as-is tags. Shaun White was ~$28, Tiger Woods was $22 (even though it was $15 on clearance, new), and a few others. Not sure what the deal was with those.

Beats me. Perhaps they found the discs abondoned in the store after people gutted the games and stole the cases? :lol:

At one store, I saw a PS3 game marked as-is. The game case is literally crushed and fallen apart. At least they just have the pieces and cover/booklet with the game disc. I just can't imagine a disc only game at Target.
 
I am looking to get Web of Shadows for 360 if anyone finds a copy...Looking to pay around $25 shipped. Not sure if the price is lower than that at Targets yet.
 
Do I have the only Target with copies of LR @ $41.98 still?
I'd be happy with $29.98 just so I know they're working on going down. I was sure today they'd be $29.98.
Did find GH: Aerosmith for $9.98 though. Too Human was gone though...
 
I have a question. There is a Target near me that opened up within the last week. Any chance of finding any deals there or will they not receive any shipments of stuff that's on clearance? I'll probably stop by anyway as it's only 6-7 min away from the house.
 
I picked up TR:UW today for 14.98. Saw FC2 for the same price but... I was so much of a hurry that I didn't pay ant attention to anything else...

What do you think the Circuit City liquidators did with the game discs from all those re-shrinkwrapped empty cases they sold? Or is it Target that sells the empty cases on clearance? I lose track...

Unlike the rare Rock Band SE 360 box on clearance, there are entire endcaps of the PS3 version.

It's hard to sort through the clearance games at my Target: for the love of Shaq, will someone please buy up all the "Ghost Rider" UMDs in their anti-theft cases?

Got the last (as far as I could tell) Lego Batman X360 at the Target in Clifton, NJ for 12.48. They had a ton of Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway, GH: Aerosmith (disc only), and Tomb Raider Underworld.
 
Very upset that the last copies of Tomb Raider: Underworld were gone yesterday, as well as Lego Batman. Chaps my butt.

Picked up Last Remnant and Tomb Raider UW for $14.98 each and Too Human for $9.98 yesterday. Nice to finally see those drop locally. Posted the store locales in the regional thread for any Indy CAGs looking for them.

Actually...The Target that just opened up 3 days ago around the corner, had Mercs 2 for $7.48 and Dynasty Warriors GBA for $2.48 Clearanced.

Take it FWIW, but I would say yes they do.

Wish I could have scored Too Human at that price. It only got to around $20 here is Fort Wayne and I wasn't sure if I wanted it at that price. Clearance games don't stay on the shelves very long here.
 
picked up the last copy of soul caliber and a copy of tomb raider underworld. two weeks late to drop but i've been paying close attention and caught it yesterday. 5 copies of raider left as of yesterday. also got an olympus underwater and shock proof camera for 63. was originally 250!

My brother got me a copy of :360: Lego Batman for $12.48 at the West 117th Target in Cleveland. They had three copies left and my brother got 2 and an employee there got one for himself.

I thought that one near me wouldn't, but come to find out I ended up missing out on a 120GB drive for the 360 clearanced down to 45 or whatever it was months ago. I'd go personally.

Consider yourself lucky to have a target with it in stock. Mine went to clearance at the same price. All the copies (each store had 5+) disappeared at that price. Mine never really get below 30%, a few make it to 50%. The magical 75% off I have yet to see on a game that was good or at least mediocre.

I hope to find Tomb Raider: Underworld for that price. I see a few others I need to look out for because I haven't been to Target in about a month and last time few times I went they didn't have anything I wanted.

You'd have to ring that one, I'd be surprised if they'd sell it to you since it's likely supposed to be sent back to the distributor.

You might get lucky though and get it for like $4.98.

"Not in the system" most likely. I bet the DPCI has already been removed completely. I doubt their hand scanners still have the data for it.

PS3 Far Cry 2 $14.98
360 Rock Revolution $4.98 (I couldn't resist...and I think the TIV is around that)

I saw a copy of PS3 End War for $14.98, too.
 
Went to my local targets today(south texas) and well the good target had nothing worth mentioning. The other targets also had nothing but i did manage to find blitz 2 for $10 & Bourne for $14, TR:U was still @ $30 for like the 5th straight week!!! Didnt pick anything up but was thinking of finding another game on the list for the RE 5 deal at gamestop since I already spotted Blitz for $10...

Your line of thinking is why GS puts 4 price stickers on used games. As far as I know, all of the major video game retailers use the upc to scan their merchandise. Guess who is one of the few who does use their own barcode stickers and guess why they do it?

A new Target in my area opened up some months ago. When I checked for clearance games on opening day, there were none. DBZ: Burst Limit rang up MSRP. When I returned the following Monday, they had a decent-sized clearance section and DBZ: BL scanned at 50% off.

Last year, I picked up Dark Sector PS3 for $9.98. IIRC, that was at 75% off. I ended up returning it after I got a used cheap copy at GS. While I was browsing the clearance section, they put the game back in the glass case. Since I already had a copy, I didn't check the price.

The copies at my Target ring up $19.99, this is one of those games that was clearanced but is now back for $20. PGR 4 is another one.
