This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Sounds like one of those severely YMMV DS drops like Phantom Hourglass, Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, and Professor Layton. None of the aforementioned three games ever got clearanced at any of the six Targets near me, but I remember seeing them mentioned as being on clearance back in October.

There's no way that Fire Emblem is being clearanced mere weeks after being released. It wouldn't be the first time Target has done this, but they've got a large enough DS case to where they can hold on to games for more than a few weeks.

Picked up a copy of Bolt (360) for $7.48 and Disney Sing-It (360) for $9.98.

I'm hoping Bolt will be easy nerd points and I can trade in Sing-It or use the microphone for Rock Band.

For a game like that, I would not get your hopes up that it would drop below the 75% point. Target would be more likely to ship it back to the manufacturer or sell it to Goodwill before it would go to 87.5%.

There's some okay deals on some refurb/recertified Philips 2008 models (I think most stores like Target sell the 2007 models, but not sure) at http://stores.ebay.com/Philips-Certified-Auctions_W0QQfsubZ248444015

I got a 52" recertified back when they were clearancing for $999. Hell of a deal.
 
No new game drops this week, but alot of other interesting things have gone on clearance this week.

Westinghouse 22" LCD monitor was $250 now $175.

Those Phillips dual personal DVD players that were in the ad were $230 now $150 (65%??).

Power squid surge protector 50% off, I think they were $30 and now $15.

And they one I am really looking at is a bunch of noise cancelling headphones and plugs are 50% off at my store. They had pink Sony plugs for $50 were $100. Alot of other brands on clearance too, about 5 to 10 different kinds...not the Bose though. Since they keep them locked up on the pegs, I'm hoping they go unnoticed by the soccer moms and bargain hunters that scout the clearance endcaps.

Where did you see those squids at?

I wish I would have taken the time to grab the DCPI number last night (I cut it close to the store closing) but I noticed that the two targets in my area clearanced a Garmin Nuvi GPS system. All I remember it being was a widescreen version (not sure of it's features) but I believe I saw it for $236 and $175...

I guess I should get the game for $15. I dont know of this has been discussed (these threads fill up too fast) but can I buy the game, take the receipt back in 2 months and if it did drop, get back some of the price differenc?

I saw this here in Michigan, too. They have one left at Fairlane Meadows in Dearborn at Ford Rd & Greenfield. They also have a Rockband Bundle for PS3 for $97.xx. I didn't get any games but I scored some As-Is Blu-ray 2 Packs that I've never seen in Target before for $7.46 a piece which were $30 at full price.

The Target games very rarely goes below 75% discount. so $15 for $60 game are a BUY.

In 2 months, the game is most likely OOS.
 
The Burke target had a GPS, i think it was around $100 (I don't think it was a Tom Tom).

Picked up a couple copies of Spiderman: Web of Shadows (360) for $12.48 today. Seems like the right price.

I've seen tom toms on clearance at a local bestbuy for $75 but passed because I already have a gps. It was a 2008 edition so maybe they cleared them out for the new ones.
 
I found someone's copy of Rock Revolution that they stashed at the Wilkes-Barre(PA) store the other night while I was trying to decide if I wanted to buy a Rock Band USB hub to add some USB ports to my 40gb PS3 for $13.98.

I decided to pass on both though, since I could just get a USB powered hub for $6 from Big Lots.

Ok, went today and saw same games as usual but I checked my stashes and URT III was $9.xx, Too Human was $9.xx, and Blitz The League 2 was $9.xx. Grabbed Blitz for the GS promotion but saved the others for maybe(hopefully) 1 more drop

used rockband usb hubs from gamestop cost about $4 i think and it has 4 slots plus you can use edge and coupon so its a little cheaper than that

Possibly, but usually if an item rings up in-store as being available (or at least signifies there is stock), it usually means the item is somewhere in there store.

You might have a stasher on your hands....:)
 
sorry to be a noob but are these games usually in the clearance bins
or are they behind the glass clase like the other games with the wrong price tags on it?

they are usually placed at the end caps. typically marked with a red clearance price stickers on them... not always. sometimes they are left on the shelf behind the glass aswell.

It depends on your store. Some keep them in the glass cases with the clearance stickers on them. Others put them on the end caps with other clearance items.

There are cases where they won't label some. In that case just ask an employee for a price check if they're behind the glass and your store's self scanner doesn't have a DCPI input.

And I think I made a was confusing in my post. I have End War and Far Cry 2 and would like to trade for something else, perhaps Last Remnant?
 
My target sucks ass. I found a copy of Fracture for 10 dollars. That's it. The 360 game section behind the glass was only like a few feet wide! The PS2 and PS3 sections were much bigger, which I thought was pretty strange.

Also, when I use the item finder thing on the front page it says that The Last Remnant is availible. However, they were nowhere to be seen when I went.

HA, sorry. Culpeper. They had about 3-4 on the hook. Sometimes they keep more around the hardware aisles.
