This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Found one copy of Mercenaries 2 360 for $7.48. Was surprised they still had it since the store just opened this past weekend.

I found the same thing at a brand new Target today, following a tip from another CAG in this thread (Lionville, Pa). Picked up a copy of Mercs 2 and Dynasty Warriors Advance for GBA for $2.48.

Nice store, stupid parking lot.

If you're looking at the display model, they'll take another 30% off of the price...We walked out with the television for 450 dollars, I nearly shit my pants...I know she shit hers, just kidding. But yeah, go for the television if it's the display, it'll come with a year warranty too.

No price drops at the Parma Target this morning. Games are all still 30% off, so Last Remnant and Soul Calibur IV are still $29.98. Bah. Apparently in Macedonia SCIV is $14.98, so hopefully there will be a price drop soon.

The first entrance you have to make a real sharp turn to enter the parking lot. It's a recipe for disaster if someone isn't paying attention and going too fast, cause they'll end up in the grill of someone leaving.

Targets are multiplying like jackrabbits in this part of PA. There's a new one going up near Pottstown, plus one in Exeter. I'm loving it.
And no worries, I never seem to find much at the Exton Target (and when I do, I only buy one). That TRU and Kmart, though, have been very, very good to me over the years.

I live near that one they are building in Exeter. I can't wait. As for that TRU, they never have anything there. I can count on one hand how many B2G1 free deals I have done there because of them not putting the new releases out in a timely manner. Nice Star Wars collection though. Never been to that Kmart, but I always wondered how they were on the clearance games.

it's probably cuz someone hid a copy so if you want to search for it'd i'd go thru all the previous posts and look for ones where people discuss where they hide games like for myself i hide them in the woman's panty section!

The correct answer is YMMV. Depends on the store and the price change team.
 
At the Manalapan, NJ Target my friend just picked up Tomb Raider on 360 for $14.98. Don't know about any other drops. He also said they had RE5 for PS3 out on the floor.

Someone mentioned some Farcry's somewhere in the Dallas area a few pages back. I can say many of the Target's in the mid-cities from Keller to Arlington are out.

I recall seeing $15 copies of FC2 at the Super Target on Park/Abrams, and one recently at the Target on NW Hwy/Abrams. Chances are they're gone by now but it might still be worth a shot if you don't live too far from that area.

i thnk if you hide the last copy there's no reason for them to drop the price because they don't see the game on the shelf or in the clearance areas!

I saw several copies of Farcry 3 for PS3 for $14.98 at the Garland store. That was as of Monday don't know if they are still there or not.
 
Sorry to be n00bish here. I know my local targets have self scanners but what is the DCPI input and how do I know if the scanner has it? Also I've heard mentioned being able to check target inventory...how do I go about that. I keep seeing folks here talking about grabbing SoulCalibur4 for 15 bux and at clearance endcap at my local stores, has it priced at 27+ and I keep bringing it to the self scanner for it to tell me the same thing...

You can put the DCPI in if the scanner has number buttons to the right of the screen.

If you know the ASIN of a game you can use Target's website to look up availability, but I have found this to be hit or miss.

All Target clearance prices are YMMV.

Off topic: Anyway, don't think I can wait for Killzone 2 to go on clearance (if it ever will hit clearance). Tried the demo last night and was blown away :drool:. Going to pick it up after work. Might be my only non-clearance/non-sale purchase this year.

That's not really true. I've taken UPC printouts of games/items barcodes that aren't even owned at any Target stores near me and they do drop in price, too just like the games/items the Target stores do carry.
 
This is probably not the right place but what the heck I got 28 Days Later/Weeks Later on Blu Ray for $6.26 each. They also had Lord of War. It was located with the video game clearance stuff.

Yeah the other day, I saw a bunch of "Meet the Spartans" with the clearance section for $7.50 or something.

Yes they are. Does that mean it was just my Target/ I got lucky? He said that it was removed from the system and they still had them or something so I figured if my Target removed it then others probably did too. I guess that is not the case.
 
Yes, prices drop if items are hidden. The prices drop based on inventory. Last year all Targets here showed they had the Zelda ds bundle but none could find it. I kept checking the price out of curiosity and at every store the price was eventually 34.98.
 
finally found tru for $15 and bought 2 so i could flip one to gamestop for the $17 plus 50% with curerent promotion for the B2G1 sale. anyways also saw like at least 20 too human copies at $10. was literally stunned but passed.

I regularly check the 2 Targets near me and one will always drop prices on hidden games while the other will not. This is a definite YMMV.

There are Gamestops practically next to every Starbucks, they don't really need more stores, and pay for their land accordingly. ;)

I am Not sure if every but there are 2 more in compton's (CA) target . Check the clearence section once in a while you might just find something.
 
damn i've actually have been taking pics of the clearence rack at my target but the new supervisors are dicks so i can no longer do it shure wish i could do so i can contribute to anyone shpping in the Pacoima target.

mabe you guys can do that like take pics of the clearence rack and post them.
 
Spotted Guitar Hero: Aerosmith for $10. Of course this happens after I bought it for $16 at Circuit City. Tomb Raider Underworld still $30.
