This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

It does not apply to all Targets. Even if a game is hidden (say, the last copy of FFIV), it drops in the system (if there is a drop) but the game will still be tagged at a higher price (since it was hidden and the clerk didn't see it so he/she couldn't mark it down). It works at my Target by my work this way.

It's YMMV on how your TGT clearances items. The Price Change Team Leader can lower the price of a lone hidden object, IF they choose to do so. The single copy will show in the inventory system. The leader has the choice to either "zero" out the item, making it "out of system" or approving the price drop on their LRT. If the item is not where it should be some leaders will chalk that up to theft and zero it out. Others will approve the price change and assume someone has hidden an item elsewhere in the store. Hell, the leader can approve all the price changes this way but it starts to raise a red flag with management if the price changes are done so quickly.

Sure it may have been discussed numerous times, but if it's not in the OP or in the 2nd post at the very least, it is going to come up time and time again. We all just have to deal with it.

I'll have a Merrillville report hopefully tomorrow. I have to work the whole St. Patty's Day and hope to hit there either before or after my shift.
 
Well Soul Caliber 4 with a couple targets that I checked in chicago are 24.98. Abba game only is 9.98, and blitz the league is 19.98. So in general I figured the only game worth getting out of that list is Soul Caliber 4. Still cant seem to find 1/2 the things that are posted on this thread in the clearance for me they are usually at full price.
 
I fnally got The Last Remnamt today for $15 and that was because I hid the game in the store. Try it folks. Hide the game. I hid it behind several copies of Saints Row and it was never found.

I also saw Ghost Rider on UMB for $5. But I passed movie blows.
 
Got LR and SH:H at my first Target today.
Just got home from my 2nd run and found Tomb Raider: Underworld and Fable II Limited Edition. (Which I paid $66 for when it came out and got it 2 days early, Go AMAZON!)

Anyways 1 more Target to check even though it would only be for trade fodder cause I got everything I was looking for.

Yes I believe wearing my "PLAY CHEAP" rubber wrist band is lucky.

Its to attach and copy your PSOne or PS2 memory cards to the PS3 hard drive and vice versa. This was great when the PS3 first came out and all of them had backwards compadibility. So people like myself were unloading those fat PS2s and able to move the data over for cheap. I got one of these at a K-Mart clearance table for $4 last year.

I got and kept Buzz! for $40 awhile back when Target had the buy-two-get-one PS3 offer. I ended up returning two of the games because I scored better deals elsewhere.
 
FFIV finally @$9.98 , time to get it, it was ripe! (I don't stash games, I put them aside to 'ripen)'. If somebody finds them, oh well, them's the breaks. No sense getting upset, to me this helps make being a cheap-ass that much more fun--will my game still be there next week? I mean, if the game's so important you're gonna be all upset if somebody else buys it then just pay the premium dood! Anyway, I put another FFIV to 'ripen' at the Salem store, if it's still there tomorrow I'll put it with the rest of the clearance and some other cheap ass will get a nice surprise!

I was hoping to find a Last Remnant somewhere but all I saw today was PS3 Soul Caliber 4 @ $35. Didn't see anything good.

I did my usual circuit (Targets in Watertown and Somerville, MA) this morning. Watertown had some SCIV (360) and Silent Hills, but they're still scanning at $30. Some of the comments make me think I'll go back again tomorrow, as I swung by at opening (8:00am) and the price might not've been dropped in the system until later in the day. Silent Hill would just be a bonus, but I totally want SCIV for $15!

I did get a bit luckier at the Somerville Target. They had one copy of Bourne (360) for $15, but I didn't want it, so maybe some other CAG can snag it. I grabbed their last Rock Band special (360) for $35. Now THAT'S the steal of the year. You can often buy and sell the drums alone for $20-30.

Yep, the total package. Give it a shot, dude! Even if it's not marked down to $35, it will likely be $70, which isn't all that bad either, for the whole kit. Radio Shack is also clearancing it out for $55-ish.
 
Decided to swing through the clearance section and their was a Last Remnant tucked in the Aerosmiths so I grabbed it on an impulse. Rang $15 but was tagged $10. :)

Sounds interesting despite the technical problems, still wondering if I should have waited for the PC version to drop. I like achievements though...
 
went to our local target and picked up 4 lego batmans for 360 for 12 a piece, 1 too human for 10, 2 step brothers for psp, 1 tom clancys ghost recon 2 for psp for 5, 1 soul calibur 4 for ps3 for 24,,, pretty good deals cant wait till next week

Precisely - my PS3 is not PS2 compatible, but it is PS1 compatible...and I'd like to play the original Metal Gear Solid and Soul Blade/Edge and Tekken 3 etc...plus it backs up my Memory Cards, which are ancient at this point (in the electronics world, at least).

I wish I could find my Dex Drive :D

Hell, I pre-ordered it for full price...and thought that was a great deal. It all depends on what that particular game means for you...you know? I'm willing to CAG it up on most stuff, but there are certain things that are day one purchases for me.
 
My area Targets are fighting until the last breath before they will drop the hundred copies of Singstar ABBA they have.
They have been clearanced at $29 for about 4 months now (isn't that the MSRP?).

The game I really wanted was Last Remnant for the same $14.98 price. I'm either going to have to wait for MS/SE to drop it to $20 or find a person to trade.

I've been looking for Target Clearance for over a year now. this is the first time I've been able to find anything for 75%. It usually disappears at 30%.
 
I'm glad to see a lot of people picking up The Last Remnant. It's really a solid RPG, in my opinion, that got a lot of flack because of the technical issues that plague it. While they are not excusable, they really don't ruin the experience. Just remember that, if you have the hard drive space, an install would be advised.
 
Yeah it looks sweet but I haven't been able to find any around here. Still trying to find it though.

My closest Target is way behind the times it seems for marking stuff down and then people snap stuff up when it's only a couple bucks off.
 
My target took down most of their (HUGE) clearance section.
Tons of clearance copies of SOul calibur IV PS3 for $24.95 (or close to that) in the normal discount games isle, though, along with some straggler clearance games.
 
I noticed more people wake up at 8-9 and get everything. Yesterday, I went around 9:15, and the clearance was ransacked. When I asked the people if they moved it, they said, "WTF, We just tagged the stuff."

So, I guess my local store already has the prices updated by opening time.

$39.99 MSRP as its currently $19.99 at some locations, which is 50% off. On the red clearance stickers if you look at the very top of them it says the percentage markdown.

really? ive had to deal with idiots thats why. i dont see how its illegal. im not swaping stickers, just taking the one off. people find it so hard to believe that a game can be $5. i dont know what im doing wrong. im just making sure i get it at the legit price. ive only done it like 2 times in about 5 yrs

Sorry Dude, that copy of Silent Hill was gone, I think that Target dropped everything they had left to 25% yesterday and someone got it. Hope you manage to get a copy.
 
I just picked up the Last Remmant, for 15. I have a 120 gig so the install will not be a problem. I am currently going though Bully, and I still have Fallout 3 to finish and Blue Dragon not counting all the non- RPG games I have. But for that price I thought why not.
