This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Yes. BBV is giving $19 for it at last check, so you'll make $12 on the trade. Some pretty good clearance game prices at BB, so you should be able to get a decent game or two by trading those in.

Went in for some Reese's easter candy and a Pricedrop on Mirror's Edge and got nada . Sad-o's But the $30 Ltm ed Fallout 360 from BB makes up for it ! (was in there 50% off along with Mortal Kombat Vs DC Ltm and OO7 QoS Ltm both ps3)

No idea, but I've opened up the one I got and everything was brand new, so risk averted.

Like I said, I think the it was just a brand new DSi that was returned by someone who thought they could make a quick profit. I'm not sure, but I think Target has to sell all returned electronics "AS-IS".

If anyone wants CoH (of which I approve highly), I recommend waiting for this to get closer to $10. The new standalone expansion, Tales of Valor, includes all the multiplayer features of the previous two iterations of CoH; it just lacks the single player campaigns of Company of Heroes and Opposing Fronts.

Buying this older Gold Edition would get you the single player campaigns of CoH & OF, and most of the current multiplayer functionality, but you wouldn't have any of the new features that ToV has. Just a word of caution.

Picked up last copy of far cry 2 (360) for $20.

It was actually in the aisle with the cheap games and had no clearance sticker on it, still marked at $40.

On another note, I have been to 4 targets now and have not seen Mirror's Edge.

The Target in Sawgrass mall in South Florida has a shelf dedicated to RB SE 360 and PS3. I just walked by and saw it but I didn't count their stock

picked up 2 rock band usb hubs last night at westminster, ca... they dropped down to 5 bucks. one for myself and one for my girlfriend.

Probably Alaska, maybe not, as long as the price is right. Location isn't that important, it just gives you a heads up as to what you can expect at your Target one day, maybe.

Saw Tiger Woods 09 for 21.xx Hopefully it drops in the $10-14 range soon.

I've returned an as-is Blu-ray in the past. I wasn't sure if they would do the return but they did with no problem.

Still $109.99 which I don't get as I thought the MSRP was $99.99 for the PS2 version. Even at 50% off it isn't much of a deal since Amazon or Best Buy had it for I think $60.

Yes. When I picked up Rock Band SE (PS3) for $34.99, the PS2 version was sitting right next to it for the same price.

Isn't this considered YMMV in some sense as well though?!
 
I picked up fallout 3 Ltd at Best Buy which is right next door to Target . It was on there half rack near the register . So im guessing its YMMV since ive only seen FO3 ps3 at other BB . Oh and thank you to the guy who hid two pink controllers , my old lady found them behind some fitness clearence . Thanks ! :)
 
Dropped by one of my locals, no drops on the :360:Tiger Woods 09, :pc: Prison Tycoon 4, or :360:MLB Front Office Manager I've been keeping my eye on. Did see a couple of interesting :pc: drops though:

The Viva collection has 8 adventure games: Agon, Physicus, Black Buccaneer, The Omega Stone, Riddle of the Sphinx, Syberia II and Paradise

The Puzzle Odyssey collection has 3 games: Cradle of Rome, Rise of Atlantis, and Galapago

I'd think about both of these at $4.98 (75%). I'm a sucker for time-wasting puzzle games :lol:
 
Poway, CA had about ten Far Cry 2 (360) for $9.97 on Monday. And to think I was kicking myself for not grabbing it at $20... I was pretty happy.

Also had Sonic Unleashed for like $25, and something else I'm forgetting.

Yes, this thread is always YMMV; so, always use these prices as guides & indicators, but not the rule. Though, I've found in most cases that if there is a clearanced item in one store, it will most likely hit all stores at some point (assuming the inventory is there.)

Damn, lucky . . . That one's right near my office, so I stop by there regularly, and all I ever find in their clearance bin is shovelware (Turok, anyone? :roll:). Apparently I need to start searching for hoarder stashes . . . except that I'm not sure that I care enough to go to that much effort.

I have gotten some decent stuff there (TR:UW, Lost Odyssey at 75%, House of the Dead 2&3 at 75%) but I have most of my luck at other Targets closer to where I live. The Chantilly Target has a definite hider/hoarder.
 
I have a noob question. If a certain Target has a lot of stock available for a clearanced item, is this likelihood of a price drop higher or lower? I would think that it's higher since they would want to get rid of stock, but then again it seems arbitrary to me based on what people have reported.

There's no real formula for predicting drops. The only (obvious) tip is that the more games there are, the likelihood of a copy sticking around until 75% is that much greater.

Even then, sometimes I see 10 copies of some titles vanish in a couple days, while a lone copy of PS3 Bioshock hung around for a month+ until it finally hit $9.xx.

I think it's the randomness that has me addicted. Target is the only reason I look forward to Mondays. :)

FYI, when in doubt BUY it or Stash it. Some Cag? posted these deals on SD. He copied and pasted the first page with all the games, prices, DPCI and ASIN numbers. Looks like there will be more competition for these games. Probably more Hoarders too.:bomb:
 
The Target near me must of found a stash because they put out Fracture, Blitz 2, Ace Combat 6, Mercs 2 and all rang out of system. A very cool CS used the gun to find the last price and sold them to me. Nice to get Ace Combat 6 for $7.50.

Possibly a CAG. Possibly just a lurker. It sucks that there's no way to block these threads from non-members of CAG.

Wow. This blows. Looks like I won't be getting anything at my targets anymore since they are in pretty active places and really easy to get to. Surprised it took so long to get to SD. Has it been there before?

I'm at Target 2-3 times a week which is why I figured that was a BS post.
In fact I was heading there today looking for Mighty Muggs. I'll feel like a fool for even looking for those games. I will check to see what's left for clearance.

All of you saying there's multiple copies of Mirrors Edge are lucky. The two Targets I visit have one each. I don't usually hide games but if it doesnt't go to $19.98 Monday, I'm stashing it.
