This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I guess I am fortunate. I've been using the "Find it a Store" tool to check availability in case I need to run in if Mirror's Edge is running out (i.e. "Limited Availability"). So far most of the stores in my area indicate an "Available" status for it.
 
I went to Target in Farmingdale, NY yesterday and there were a few copies of Mirror's Edge. They were behind glass and had no sticker though so I don't know if they were at $20 yet. There was nothing else there except a lot of the PS3 bluray/HDMI/remote bundles which were still ringing up at $25. I picked up a PS3 memory card adapter because who knows if I'll ever need one. There were also a LOT of those $2.50 PS2 controllers.

I don't think Target's online inventory tracker is all that accurate. I know I've used it to check for Rock Revolution and other games. Although it says available they're no where to be found in the store! Unless some people are stashing them away :whistle2:k

I don't think him being in your area matters anymore since it's on SD now. We should all be worried about our own Target stores.

God, this is so annoying. Is there a way for FoS to get a copyright on his work with this thread (I'm being incredibly facetious of course)?

Someone's probably hiding them. So far, I've been somewhat successful with that tracker tool. When it says Limited Availability, I usually find one or two copies. I checked over the weekend for Rock Revolution and it showed up with that status. At my store, lo and behold, one copy hiding under two other games within the glass case (I had to ask the clerk to check what game it was for me). Then again, maybe I am lucky.

Unfortunately, I usually don't get drops at my stores as quickly as the stores of other people.

I experienced that this week. I saw one Target had 10-15 copies of Soul Calibur IV for $24.98 last Friday. I thought I would wait it out; come Monday afternoon, all copies were gone. MUST have been a scalper!

damnit, would the CAGs who posted about CAG on SD edit OUT CAG from their posts! You thought we had lurkers before! What GOOD does it do to promote where the info was copied from?

A few days ago, SD posted a thread on the Blu ray/remotes reaching $12.xx and within frickin hours the stores around me went from having 5-20 to zero (yes. this happened in morning they dropped) 2 stores staff described the same guy buying them all...I had hoped to buy two but have since found out the remotes do not work well...

I also noted in the SD thread no one is contributing (why would they?) I contribute when I can, but that would just be foolish and handing info to them on a platter.

WAY TO GO! TAKE MANY MEMBERS CONTRIBUTIONS, COPY AND PASTE THE INFO AS YOUR OWN. CONGRATS ON ALL YOUR SD"REPS" FOR COPYING!

EXACTLY. please be careful you do not say which location you seen said games. just let us know what games they were and how much they were. it'll make it much easier for people who actually want the game to have a chance to snatch it up.

Um, and what exactly do you think "happened" here?

I missed that particular debate, but it's kinda hard to talk about deals found at specific Target stores without giving your general location away . . .

Technically, he did give credit at the end of the SD post. Either way, let's not bitch about this and move on. While we're looking for deals at our Targets, people on SD are trying to figure out how to use the inventory tracker.

SD asshole. I spend a lot of time going on Target.com or going instore for DPCI numbers. You guys also take the time to write down the DPCIs that you can. It feels a little cheap that the list we've all spent varying amounts of time on making awesome was copied and pasted to a crappy deals site
 
Remembered what Target had Rock Band SE Bundles for PS2/3 but they didn't have any when I got there. Oh well...found myself Mighty Muggs Starscream at least.
 
If you guys posting at that thread on SD asking for credit to CAG, retract it. We don't want more people (mostly soccer mom) at SD to start becoming CAG lurker.
 
I picked up Far Cry 2 at the Delafield, WI Target for 19.99. Which is odd as I thought this would be the clearance price, but it had no clearance sticker on it and had the regular target tag on the shelf below it. Anyway, it was the last copy, nothing else worth noting there.
 
WTF though...I be gone for a few hours and this takes place. Ugh...now even more competition. I don't need more hunters to face off against.

To Kiduterus (SD poster), The rep point that you get at SD means NOTHING. :) And it will not only make it harder for other CAG to get a deal at their Target, but also at YOUR OWN TARGET.

The SD thread is up to 6-7 pages.
Lots of reps for kidu but only one PS2 (old) contribution.
Many members here contribute to the list and all it's detail.
Kidu took it upon himself to steal this info and copy it as his own to another forum. (I don't give a tinker's damn about credit)
If I wanted to post my findings on SD or FW, that's what I would do. But I chose not to for many reasons.
It was a really crappy thing to do.

I picked up a Westinghouse 22 inch pc monitor today for $62 (75% off), it was the display model though and they didn't give me an additional 30% off.. not sure if I should keep it or not, has one stuck(?) pixel that's not very noticeable. Stuck pixels are pixels that're any color (in this case blue pixel on a black picture) that isn't black right?

try gently massaging the pixel to get it unstuck. there is also a software program that is designed to cycle the colors on the monitor to fix stuck pixels. google is your friend.

thanks, i actually used google and have been trying the software method for the past 30 mins.. no luck yet, might have to try massaging it. btw i called the store and they said i can bring it back and get the additional 30% taken off.. making it about $43.

edit/update: just got rid of the stuck pixel by massaging it with a microfiber cloth.. theres still a few minor scratches cuz of it being on display, but i still think i got a nice deal..

Well that was fast , Figured Id splurge on Mirrors Edge 360 at $27 since I wasnt happy about it not dropping this week , well no worries ALL the copies were gone . Thanks ! Lets see , Chump posting at SD add to that Soccer Moms who can sniff a hint of a bargin and kids with the week off from school = Chaos ! Awesome , Did I say thanks yet ?

PS - I know that Mirrors edge will hit $20 MSRP but its the thrill thats gone , I can wait but I hope the hoarders that lurk in that jerks local targets pick it clean before he gets another deal there .
