This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Hah, I was the one who reported the Shorewood location having all of them, so I am glad I could help. I already own all of the clearance titles so I was just going to use them for trades there if anyone wanted, but I guess i cut out the middle man! hah

And as far as LotR go, I really like it. I bought it from a B2G1 at Gamestop a few months back. If you like Battlefront games, you will like this. I know nothing of LotR and I still enjoyed it. Its basically Battlefront but mainly all melee characters. Its pretty well balanced, but I must say that most of the fun I have had with this game is in the multiplayer, both offline and on so if you plan on playing it with yourself only I don't know how fun it would be.
 
I hit two Targets tonight on my way home from work. The first had plenty of POP for $29.98, but all the MKvDC that were that last week were gone, so I'm guessing they hit the $15 price :cry: Second one had a single copy of POP for $15, so I snagged it. Also saw two copies of MK, still at $30, so here's hoping they're still there when I go back on Monday.

Folklore was clearanced a LONGGG time back. I doubt any stores have them anymore.
I payed for my copy full price when it came out, and I still love it.
 
I saw FarCry 2 for 30 bucks at my Target today but heard some people got Target to honor the older clearance of 10 bucks at other stores. Is that possible? Is it solely at the discretion of the manager?

I thought he might have meant to post it in the Sears thread, since it was clearanced there much more recently, and there is still a slim chance that some Sears somewhere still has it.
 
I picked up Ratchet and Clank. Plenty left in Athens as well as GT5. They had a "Greatest Hits" sticker on the wrap, but not the box. I was surprised considering my Target usually has almost no games in stock.
 
Picked up Ratchet & Clank and GT5 as well for PS3, though had to go to 4 different ones before I found both.

BTW, was MK vs DC for PS3 ever on clearance? I know it is for the 360, but I always see the PS3 one in the case and I only have a PS3. If it was, I'll definitely have to get them to price scan that for me :)

When I saw it there, people were just reporting that they found it for $10 so I assume stores just had a few copies shipped in for whatever reason and they didn't realize it was still at the clearance price.

Well, I got it for $10 the other day(checked the price at a scanner) and I went back today to get a friend of mine a copy. I scanned it and it rang up $29.99. I guess they have adjusted the price back to the displayed price. I don't know if the manager will adjust the price.

How low do you CAGs think Wheelman will go before it stops getting any lower? I saw it for $30 at my local Target.. but I don't think it's worth more than $20. Think it might drop down to $10 or $15?
 
It'll probably drop to $15 as that'd be 75% off. However, not sure if there will be any copies left at that price as I've only seen 1-3 at all the Targets near me (currently at $30).
 
Stopped by on my way home and discovered the clearance shelf had 3 copies of :360: 50 Cent for $41.98. Now, I have been constantly scanning this store in the cabinet and clearance shelf and these have not been here in the past 4 weeks. All of a sudden these appear. I doubt they will last for me to grab one any cheaper. :(

They did have 1 lone copy of :360: Smackdown 2009 on the shelf but it was $24.98. Booo! It will be gone too before it reached $12.

I didn't see Mirror's Edge while I was there. Can anyone confirm that it's still at $9.98?
 
Do people think LOTR: Conquest will drop to $10, or will it sell at $20? ...I'm really having a hard time deciding whether I should get it or not. The demo disappointed, but I love (LOVE) the Battlefront series and I also really like the LOTR universe....I just don't know if $20 is worth it.

...and to the person looking for Folklore. I know this is the Target thread, but I've seen it regularly priced at $20 at Walmart. I don't know how cheap it was back when it was on clearance, but I personally think $20 is a pretty good price for the game.

It's been on sale for months over months now. It has to be 10 everywhere by now. But it will be hard to find because it has been on sale for $10 for a while now. But scan Target regularly.

Unlike games like POP, I've seen very few copies of LOTR, so the chance of a copy sticking around til $20 seems slight. As far as if it's worth it, trust your reaction to the demo, I say.

Stopped at one of my Targets today in hopes of grabbing Mirrors Edge, Smackdown 09, Tiger Woods 09, and Incredible Hulk. My Target only had Smackdown. There was just one lone copy laying on an end rack with other various electronics. I looked all over and saw NO other clearance games anywhere. This was all in Oak Creek, WI btw.
 
OMG. I was just looking at the past thread's deals on the first page. I wish I had known about this site earlier. PS3 Soul Calibur 4 for $12.50?!?!? Gah, I've been wanting that game for awhile, lol. Oh well, just gonna have to wait for some other good deal on it.

Oy, how did I miss this? Guess I must not have seen the weekly ad that week, very likely since I forget to check them when I'm in school, lol.
 
It was also impossible to find at many locations, as well as many of the other titles. So there's a good chance that you didnt miss much

Thats because the sale was severely leaked all over SD and FW a full week before the sale so everybody went and pre bought what they wanted and price changed it on Sunday
 
Man I cleaned up at that BB sale, I ended up spending over $200 and I don't think I have even opened any of the games yet.

The amount of deals you get from this site is a blessing in that you get a ton of awesome games for a fraction of the prices that others are paying. However it's also a curse considering how many games I have unplayed and the amount of money I have spent.

Oh yeah I just wanted to let you guys know that there's someone on twitter that I follow called Bankrupt Gamer (no idea where I heard of them) & they mention Target clearance from time to time. So just more competition.
 
Stopped at another Target today in search of MK v DC -- again, they had plenty, but still at $30 :bomb: I did pick up an extra PoP, if anyone's interested in a trade, and GH3 for like $8.

In addition to that, I picked up a Boompod gaming chair for $10. I advise everyone to save the money. I'm honestly thinking about returning it next time I'm out that way.
 
Can confirm the :ps3:R&C and :ps3:GT5P Greatest Hits version at old clearance price glitch at one of my locals ($14.98 and $9.98 respectively).

:ps3:Army of Two is also on the list of new Greatest Hits games (and clearanced down to $9.98 a ways back), so people may want to keep an eye out for that one as well for the glitch.
 
Picked up GT5 for the $9.98 price at Batavia, NY store.

They also had Wheelman on clearance for both 360 and PS3 for $41.98, Prince of Persia for 360 for $14.98, Riddick for 360 for $41.98, LocoRoco 2 for PSP for $13.98, a whole bunch of Wii crap titles on the cheap.

man no kidding...a buddy told me that you don't have a bad backlog unless it hits 20....between that sale and this thread it put me at 30 :D
 
Dont know if anyone mentioned it but ..... I found a cordless Microsoft laser mouse (not IR mouse) normally marked at bout $40 and my target in TN had it for $9.98

Might hit another target in a few hours and pick another one up for my wife cause she liked it alot better than her pink MS cordless mouse ...plus look for GT prolouge and Rachet.
 
I'm baffled. Why hasn't Star Ocean dropped in the last two months? Every store near me still has a copy and they're all still $27.98. You think they'd take a hint and drop it by now.

If it's the one I got, it's the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 6000. However, mine was around $11.XX, still 75% off though.

I've been wondering that myself, as I'm planning to get a PSP soon and would like to have Star Ocean. Of course, from what I've seen it looks like every store has exactly one copy (so weird, you'd think it would vary somewhat), and I'm sure there are several people watching them -- so I'm sure that if/when it does drop, it'll disappear before I even know it's happened. :whistle2:(
 
after weeks of searching, finally.. afro samurai for 14.98. even better, it was from a hidden stash i found, still labeled at $41.98. Beautiful.
 
From my visit the other day I forgot to mention that when I was looking for 50 Cent: BotS, I didn't see it in stock so I scanned UPC. It came up as $59.99, none listed in any location but "STOCKROOM: YES". SO they must have some in the back. Weird.

Was just going to comment on this as well, seems to be stuck at that price. I thought I even saw it at $29.99 at Wal-mart regular price the other day, which explains why it's not flying off the shelves for $2 less at Target. Here's hoping for next week....again :p

Same thing I was thinking. Only two stores near me have it and both have been stuck at $27.98 for over a month now.
