This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Or he could have said, "Oh, no problem. Take one." Yeah, it's possible he *might* be an asshole, but then again he *might* be a nice guy. I recall that someone in the Best Buy thread said that some guy was holding the last few copies of You're In The Movies, so he thought about leaving; instead, he asked and the guy simply gave him a copy.

Yeah, it sucks to be shot down, but it doesn't hurt to try. If the guy is an ass, whatever, but seriously what have you got to lose?

Do what you will, but you won't have a chance with that attitude.

Really nothing new to this thread, but actually new to my local store.

I noticed all the older 360/PS3 clearanced items that were together on a special endcap (Mirror's Edge, Tiger 09, FIFA 09, Naruto) were all gone.

I ended up just getting Endwar w/headset PS3 for $40 from this week's ad. :p

I hoarded a couple of extra copies of Mirrors Edge today. I did leave 9 copies and already posted to my local CAG's. If you want a copy shipped for $15 PM me, but if you don't like me, don't bother.
 
Watertown, MA had two :360: Mirrors Edges for $10 left when I was done (I got my usual 2 copies - one for me, one to see if buddies want and trade/sell if they don't). That was at 4pm today. I also got the last :360: Hulk and a copy of :360: Dark Sector for $5. There are 3 or 4 more Dark Sectors left, too.

I also saw PC Saints Row 2 for $10 and PC Bully: Scholarship for $5. Several copies of :360: Saints Row 2 and :360: Prince of Persia also just went on clearance, but aren't cheap yet.
 
Finally tracked down a $9.98 Mirror's Edge and a $14.98 Endless Ocean (been watching the 1 single copy for weeks, was sure it'd be gone before the drop and it finally dropped today). There were 2 copies when I went... but it was a strange clearance day, all of the price drops seemed to have been done and out of nowhere an employee came out with a cart of stuff (mostly CDs and DVDs, didn't see any games) and started messing around in the clearance bin. I walked back and he had put 2-3 more Mirror's Edge into the rack and put the remaining copy in a plastic security box (the other 2 were already in it). He was futzing in the area for like 10 minutes, and walked away so I walked back over and didn't see anything new/different/changed/etc. I'm tempted to go back tomorrow morning and see if anything happened...

It was labeled as $14.98 at my Target, but I took it & scanned it for the heck of it-- turned out to be $7.48. Who knows when I'll get around to playing it, but I couldn't pass it up.
 
Bought the second to last copy of Mirror's Edge for the 360 today from the Target at San fernando Mission and Balboa in the SFV in SoCal. I took the one that had the $9.98 sticker and left the one with the $19.98 sticker. Figured it might last longer for a fellow CAG who knows to use a price checker on Target clearance games, no matter what they're labelled as.
 
Last Target of the week gave up Sins of the Solar Empire for 7.48, there is at least 1 more copy left at the Harbor / MacArthur store in Costa Mesa. This game is Epic in it's depth, 5 hours later I'm still playing my 1st game :)

And talking about price adjustments, do you have to do the adjustment at the same store, or can you take something you bought from a more expensive target, to another store which you know has the lower price ?

By leaving 9 copies, don't you think that would put you squarely in the non hoarder column ?

Bummer though, I would have loved to trade with you, but I'm guessing your not interested. Another opportunity lost to my inability to communicate :(

Are all targets clearing out Fifa 09 x360?? I need to pick this up for my bud who's still on fifa 06.

Anybody in los angeles spotted FIFA at that price $15??

That'll fade quick. Don't get me wrong - at $7.50 it's great. I bought it for $30, and didn't get much use out of it. Once you figure out the best combos, it's prettymuch a done deal unless you do much online playing, in which case you'll run into constant LRM rushes...

I got the last copy of Mirror's Edge on Friday. It showed up as out of stock online, but I found it behind some other clearance games. So far I like it a lot (I played the demo and thought it was okay, but now I like it a lot). Even though it's a short game, I think it'll be a solid title that is comparable to Uncharted (in terms of length).
 
Target in Neptune NJ had 50+ copies of Guitar Hero 3 for 360 at 20.98 today :D. Also, LocoRoco 2 was tagged down to 13.98 but is still in the display case.
 
so glad I went to Target today. Yesterday, Hulk 360 was still ringing up at $20.98; today, it went straight to $7.48!

I do wonder if the hoarding is getting out of control, as I can't find any of the really good games on the clearance list.

Sorry, my humor does not always play in text. I was not considering what I did (this time;)) hoarding. I admit I hoard to the extent that if I can pick up a few extra copies for CAG's that miss out either locally or nationally (local first), I will. Some say hoarding is what it is without intent and I'm good with that. I will always try to leave some (guides too, unless the manager says take 'em or I'll destroy 'em). I have not been burned yet and I am sure I will, but I will still try to do for CAG's that ask. I'm sure I'll get back from some and have really enjoyed dealing with some genuinely cool and good hearted CAG's :grouphug:.

I completely agree. He's sending me one as well and $15 dollars is more than fair. Considering that the Target I work at would have marked it to $15 dollars anyway because for some reason they had the original price at $59.99 and not $39.99.

Tried yet again to find Mirror's edge myself, but no luck. Still "limited availability" on the site, still nada in the store. I did see at least FIFTY (not an exaggeration) game only Guitar Hero IIIs for the 360 ($20.98, LOL), so obviously they had unloaded the stock room. I asked an employee if he could find Mirror's edge, and sure enough he looked it up, it was in stock, but after checking the clearance rack and the 'value games' section (which I had already looked through, game by game), concluded that they didn't have the game. fuck!

I guess it must have been stolen, that's the only reason I can think for it still to be showing up as in-stock, yet nowhere to be found. If it had been stashed by a hoarder (which I don't think happens at this Target, as Sonic unleashed and most of the other stuff was readily available and I usually see most of the clearance titles survive to at least the 19.98 mark), he would have picked it up by now as its been over a week.
 
Yeah, I gotta stand up for PapaSmerf too. He hooked me up with Opoona, a game I've been dying to get a good price on in forever. Gave me the Microcenter deal for 8.99 at bare bones cost-- a good CAG.

I too saw a shitton of Guitar Hero III. It must have been 50-60. I wish it had gotten a MSRP drop for 19.99 and then got clearanced... 7.48 seems like too much to me (just because I'm not a big fan of guitar games)
 
Well some stashed copies must have been found and put back on the clearance shelf at the Fenton, MO Target, as I got the seemingly last copy of Afro Samurai PS3 for $14.98 and I went ahead and got Singstar ABBA only because it was 5.04.
 
got the last copy of ME at the Target in Villa Park, CA. There were about 20 last week, so if anyone around there is a CAG and was waiting for them to drop, just a heads up so you save a trip! Hope the other 19 were picked up by someone on here.

Well as I posted earlier, I went to three different Targets that all claimed they had "limited availability" of Mirror's edge, and I didn't find one copy of the game at any of them. So, "not very" is my answer.

It's somewhat accurate- the only issues are: 1) probably not instantly update and 2) people hiding stuff throws off the inventory.
 
If anyone wants a mirrors edge , target by me had a few left yesterday , im going to go look for another tiger 09 for a fellow cag'er ME 10+tax , would love to find a Hulk or Fry Cry 360 lemme know :)
 
Checked two stores yesterday. One didn't have anything to speak of. The other, however, had quite a bit.

I picked up Loco Roco 2 for 13.98.

They also had Wheelman and Rock Band 2 for PS3 for 29.98.

I was hoping to find this yesterday at a target that used to have a copy. Unfortunely they were sold out, but I did type in the DCPI and it came up at $14. I am going to try 2 more targets today.

In addition to the new batch of clearance games already mentioned, I also saw Secret Agent Clank and Star Ocean (both for PSP), at $27.98 each.

Star ocean psp 1 copy and I think it was 27.98.
also saw Ratchet and Clank PSP - 9.98 if I remember right, looked quickly

Dont know if this was mentioned and not really clearance but it is a deal.. similar to when Target had Midnight Club:Los Angeles marked down to $39.99 well before the universal drop they now have Tomb Raider:Underworld (PS3) marked as "As Advertised" for $29.99... :bouncy::bouncy:
 
I went to a Target with very slow traffic, I never stop at that one but did it today, found 6 copies of Afro Samurai for 360, all of them at $40.98, that's just nuts, I got the PS3 version for $14.98

So don't go to the one in Northwest Hwy and Abrams, DFW, they have nothing going on right now
 
if anyone on LI wants a Mirror's Edge, i saw at least one at either the Hicksville or Levittown location. i had to go to 3 Targets yesterday, because the first 2 were out of something i needed, and i remember seeing 1 copy of Mirror's Edge locked in the glass case with the other 360 games. i know it wasn't supposed to be locked up, and it was in the wrong spot, and i'm sure it was still there because people people may not have looked there for it...
