This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

YMMV. Some associates will do it for you if your purchase was recent enough (about 2 weeks?). Others will flat out deny it.

The system will not allow price adjustment on clearance items. However, the associates can work around it by doing a return and repurchase.

Yea, 2 weeks is the new policy. Should be very easy for them to do the adjustment in the system (although I actually think they process a return and rebuy at the new scanned price). It is YMMV on clearance items though, but it has never stopped them from adjusting it for me. It is probably best to take the red clearance sticker off before attempting though.

And to prove that you can get them to let you return/rebuy games after the 2 week window, I was successful today. The woman was mumbling something about clearance not being eligible and after two weeks, but I just asked nicely and she did it right there. She did print out a new "clearance" sticker and put it on first though, so I'm guessing that is what they had indicated before where they process returns and put them back on shelf.

So return/rebuy after 2 weeks can be done despite what the new policy says, just follow the standard guidelines for leniency, (look for a younger employee, be polite, ask nicely, play dumb) and you shouldn't have too many problems. And if they don't allow it to go through just say thanks and leave, no temper tantrums, glitter throwing or magazine rack knocking over necessary.

Target clearance is YMMV. That store just hasn't done the final drop yet.

- Both have 5+ copies in the top of the glass case. There was some huge guy playing the 360 right in front of the case so I couldn't really see the prices too well. He wouldn't move when I said excuse me. He must have been zoned in on whatever game he was playin'.

In any case, I picked up Mirror's Edge (last copy) for $9.98 at the Midtown Target in Charlotte. There had been a bunch of $15 copies of X-Blades at my Target for a while, but they're all gone now, probably to be flipped.

I love your Avatar, but not as much as I love Chuck! That show is great, and it supports video games like crazy. COD, Rock Band, etc.

So everyone on this forum should watch it, not many programs support video games

i watched it for half an episode. it was, imho, extremely stupid. i'm really sorry. i generally enjoy shows like that, too, so i was pumped to finally get to sit down and watch it. 30 seconds later my wife and I both had enough and changed it.

at any rate..my local targets really suck and never have any good deals. except when I'm not there, as evidenced by the 15 copies of Mirrors Edge for Ps3 that dissappeared overnight (and probably ended up on Ebay) once they hit clearance, and similar stories as such.

Chuck is probably one of my favorite shows, and one of the few shows that I watch that my wife likes to watch too.

Wasn't it in the 1st or 2nd episode where he was "mingling" at a party, talking to a group of attractive women, telling them about his exploits in COD4?

... and the "Buy More ~ Best Buy" overtone.

This show is a CAG's wet dream.

I have heard rumors that it may be cancelled to make room for Jay Leno's daily prime time show (NBC has to clear out 5 hours during the week for it, 1 hour a night). The finale was awesome, so I hope it lives on.

The show isn't for everyone. Also, if the half episode you watched was during season 1, it probably wasn't very good because of the writer's strike. The second season was kick ass though with some of the funniest instances of nerd culture comedy ever. Definitely my favorite show this past year.

The show's writers were definitely prepping to get canceled. It was like a "oh what the hell, they'll cancel our show anyway" type moments.
