This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Because of theft and because of people who like to hide stuff probably.

They started doing that around here for a bit, but they stopped after the cases were overflowing with clearance games.
 
I visited a Target recently that puts all their games in those clear plastic shells like BB.

On a side note...I tried to price adjust FIFA today from $30 to $15 and was told the original purchase couldn't be more than 7 days old. It was 10 days, so she denied me. This same lady used to let me price adjust anything so long as I had a receipt. I just smiled and said "Thanks anyways"...just have to try another CSR now.

Exactly... Good reply. I use it EVERYWHERE. My barcode sheet has the lowest mentioned price (from CAG), the DCPI (for target), and the barcode (w/ UPC). It takes too long to punch in the 207-22-xxxx number over and over when you can just whip out the sheet and scan away. I don't care if they see me. If they didn't want me to scan barcodes then they wouldn't give me a self-serve scanner. I mean, isn't the purpose of it is to look up prices? ;)

I saw the Lost & the Damned on clearance last night. I think it was $13.98. I didn't look too close because they had a bunch and I'm waiting for 50%.
 
Found an old one Turok $7.48 and Brothers in Arms (PS3) $14.98. Didn't get it because used collector's edition is $3 more at gamestop.

Got X-Blades yesterday for $14.98. That Target must have gotten games from another store because on my last visit, they didn't have it in the clearance section or in the case. Anyway, glad I didn't bite at $30 because the game can be infuriating. 360-Fifa 09 was still marked $29.98 and I forgot to scan it.

More likely that someone got a $15 copy in another store and then returned his previously bought $30 copy to your store. I doubt Target would themselves move clearance stocks between stores, which would just cost them more money.

olive branch, MS target is doing that now on some games. Sambe De Amigo and Iron Man for Wii, plus all PS2 games, were still in regular plastic. All 360 and PSP games (they didn't have any PS3 games on clearance) were in the plastic.

it's a good thing, I think. i've seen more opened packages since this "recession" started than ever. people think being slightly more broke than usual makes it ok to be thieving trash. i'd hate to see this country during depression. there'll be people in the parking lot with billy clubs knocking out the people who really bought stuff so they can just take the entire cart and push it up those lawn mower ramp things into the back of their SUV's (which they just filled up with siphoned gas). it's gonna be great...just like a movie.
 
I asked an employee to scan the prince of Persia for me and he looked through the case a said its $41.98. I said can you scan it for me because the regular price is now $39.99. He was like well our regular price is $59.99.

I hate it when an employee asks "do you need any help" but doesn't want to. He finally opened the case and scanned it after I said "You aren't going to scan it ok." Still 41.98 for some reason when you can get it for $35 on amazon.

2 Targets here in Jacksonville, FL started that within the last couple of weeks.

I owned a magnavox HDTV for about two years and the screen went bad (showed a darkened/blackish line going all the way across on the top of the screen) and the speakers started emitting a high pitched buzzing noise. Luckily I had purchased a warranty at wal-mart and after the technician realized it'd cost more in parts than to refund me the amount I paid they gave me my money back.

I would never trust off-brand TVs, they may be cheap, but if you spend a little extra money on a known reliable brand you'll have a TV that will actually LAST.

Not the best HDTV....that was my 1st (before my current Samsung) and now my friends aunt has it. As far as it breaking down...no problem here.

Grabbed the last copy of GTA IV:The Lost and The Damned for $13.98 @ the Destin, FL Target

They also had 4-5 copies of Afro Samurai for $41.98 but I didn't bite...
 
bought the last guitar hero aerosmith bundle but upon closer inspection, the disc didn't have shrink wrap on it. Are they all like that?
 
I picked up Harvey Birdman:Attorney at Law for the PS2 today for $3.74, which I don't see on the list. I also got Mega Man Maverick Hunter X for the PSP for $3.74 as well. Can't beat the prices.

That's why you need to get a UPC sheet or learn how to use the DPCI.
 
Found an Afro Samurai, Sonic Unleashed, and Bioshock for PS3. Bioshock came has item not found so he goes 18. I said 15 and he said okay. Problem was I brought both copies to the register, I came away with one. Bastard probably snagged it for himself.

I checked at several Targets today and those pickups are rare. Just the fact that they end in .04 says you got 'em the lowest they'll get.

Yeah, I never ask employees to open the case at Target. Just enter the DPCI number at the scanner and it should work fine.. unless of course the game isn't tagged in the case, then you'll have to ask someone to scan it.
 
Just got back from target in league city(?). picked up Oblivion for 7.48 and Saints Row 2 for 9.98, both for pc. I might end up returning both if my macbook pro doesn't get fixed soon. I was really looking for Far Cry 2 and Mirror's Edge for Xbox 360. I'm still waiting for Afro Samurai to drop.

I went back and the 2 copies I left behind were gone. I did pick up Buzz Master Quiz PSP, which finally dropped to $4.98. I hadn't noticed that the game had a coupon for free Cazy Bread at Little Caesar's. I guess the only reason I got the coupon was because the game was in a plastic security case.

Yeah. Come to think about it, even standing there punching in a bunch of DPCIs into the scanners must seem weird to them.
 
Got back from the Target in Rockaway, NJ. The selection of games over there were kind of meh imo. Scored me the only copy of (PS2) Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 for $4.98. Frickin' sweet! Was hoping to find Mirror's Edge or MegaMan Maverick Hunter X, but it's all good.

I guess i learned that. the tag was covered but he shoudn't act like that its there job to scan things if I ask them to. They should just put it on the self so I can scan them.

I went to see If Sonic Unleashed 360 I Passed up last week was still there. Nope. The trip wasn't a total loss. I scored at Blockbuster in the same plaza.

Girl there said there was a big sale going on...um..yeah.
 
Went to my Target today and saw very limited games with only the following:

Although I did manage to score the last copy of Endless Ocean Wii which was marked at $12.XX for 75% off original price, but scanned in at $7.48.
 
I found Sonic Unleashed today for $12.48! I was happy about this until I actually played the game. Ugh what a letdown. That fucking xbox live demo is so misleading!
