This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

That doesn't mean a hoarder found them. Once they get low (as in 7.48 or 9.98), they don't drop any more and they ship remainders off to other stores that can actually sell them.
 
Fishing Master World Tour (Wii) $7.48. Still 4 copies left (Independence, MO) havery birdman (PS2) $3.78 still 1 copy left. Ton Scene It 2 bundle for $28. That's all folks :)
 
POP and Afro dropped to $29.98. Hopefully Afro makes it to $15 so I can swap my PS3 copy for it.

Played the PSP Capcom's Classic Collection Reloaded ($4) that I picked up last week...this is an awesome value as it includes 3 versions of Street Fighter 2, 1942 and 1943, Mercs, Commando, Ghouls n Goblins and Ghost n Goblins, and a bunch of others I vaguely remember playing when I was a kid.

Also some Transformer toys dropped to 50% off.

Make the 20 minute trek up to Cedar Rapids location, and you'll find it for $24.99. I can verifiy that this is the case at the NE location, as-of yesterday, and they had about 10-15 copies. If you buy them all, I'll never give you another tip again!! :D
 
Yeah - one of my local Targets had dropped Afro and POP to 29.99 today. Wrestlemania was at 24.99.

If/when they go 75%, I'll probably pick up one of each. My local stores seem to have a ton of all the titles, so it shouldn't be an issue.

I am no hoarder my friend. I can barely afford to be a causal gamer. thanks for the tip. I have only been to that Target once, but I remember that it had insane amounts of each clearance games. Do you know when they last dropped I might hold out for one more drop?

weird ive been told at 3 diffferent targets that they will NEVER send clearance items between stores, unless a store goes out of business

Just hit up Lansing MI Target (Merridian) Saw lips for 24.98 and 20 copies of GH3 @14.98, High School Musical 3 DDR thing 19.48, Scene it box office smash 19.48, RvS 2009 34.98 i am looking to get Buzz Quiz TV for my ps3 soon but still collecting dust at 59.99 at my target

I work at Goodwill and we BUY target's clearance and broken merchandise. It may be dirt cheap, but they sure as hell don't donate it.

Have you found good things there? I live in Shorewood, IL so if you have I may make a trip out there.

On an actual thread related comment, I found a Target that apparently doesn't have a clearance section and just marks them behind the glass. The noteworthy prices I saw were all priced at $29.xx or $27.xx; LotR Conquest, Prince of Persia and Mortal Kombat vs DC
 
Interesting thing today , Was going to Wal-Greens to see if they had the $5 Wii games ( they did ) on the way stopped at one of the local targets and picked up Endless Ocean for $7.48 but they had in the Case House of the Dead Overkill , Madworld and Dead Rising Chop till you Drop all for Wii with White Labels over there barcodes . I asked the woman who was scanning in the area and she said that they were discontinued and not going to be restocked . I then asked her if these were going to be clearenced and she said come back on monday with a smile . So hoping monday they hit the Clearence rack . Anybody who works there is this a way they do clearence ? Hoping to get DR on the cheap

Usually I do not find anything in the Plainfield area. But I work out in Oak Brook, and the Target out there usually has a good clearance section.

$19.98. Decided I wanted one and went to pick one up... only like 5 left now.

They also had one copy of Banjo Kazooie N&B for 19.98, couple copies of Afro Samurai, Smack Down Vs. Raw or whatever it is... and I think a Need for Speed game at the prices posted recently in this thread.

Didn't pay any attention to the games for other systems.
 
A note on the Saints Row 2 for PS3 mentioned above, I don't think it is on clearance as I did price check it and it was 29.99 so not clearance. Maybe sale or price drop?

Ran up to my local St. Charles Target and pointed this out to a buddy. Quite a steal.

No new drops in my area. Did see SvR for $24.xx at Chesterfield, MO. That was about the only drop there. MK v. DC might have been $29.xx, but I can't remember.
 
Scene It sure takes its time dropping in price.

Forget if it's been 2 or 3 weeks now, but in that time its dropped from $29 to $27 in Natick, MA

Most of the copies of Afro Samurai that I saw around here have disappeared at $41.98. I'll be highly surprised if any of them make it to less than $30. Though it appears that there's been a general price drop on the game to $39.99 everywhere, so I'm holding out for $20 or under regardless of whether I get it from Target or not.
 
I hid a copy of Mirrors Edge about 3 weeks ago at my Target, does anybody know if the price has went down on it yet from it's original clearance price? I apologize for just posting out of the blue, I haven't read the thread prior to this.

Local Target in Valdosta GA had several things.

3 Lips Bundles for 24.98 each
Banjo for 360 for 19.98
LOTR Conquest 360 for 27.98

Also several other games still posted at high prices.

That's unfortunate for you. I know the 360 version is on clearance at 41.xx at one of my local stores.

Just picked it up today for $29.98. Also got Monsters vs. Aliens for $25, Halo Wars LE for $56, BOS for $20, and Lips for $25. I could only find one store within 60 miles using the locator which had Halo Wars in stock and when I got there they had about six of them in the case. Turns out it was also the only store to have a certain clearanced Transformer I was looking for too so I made the trip.

If you only knew how extensive AP monitors electronics, I can almost guarantee you were spotted hiding games.

yeah. Target has their own crime lab too, as good as most police departments' labs. They can also not only see you from within the store, but word is that they just got updated so the national AP labs can see you from whatever store you're in.
