This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

You do realize Target has some of the best security out of the major retail stores right? There's not an inch of that store that doesn't show up on the monitors. Most of the time they aren't paying attention to people hiding games. But when they do catch you it's game over. To them it's the same thing as stealing because it screws them up when they do their inventory checks. A game that doesn't get scanned for inventory is the same thing if someone just walked out with the copy. They have no way of knowing whether or not it was simply hidden or actually stolen.

Stopped by my local Target for non-game stuff, when I saw 2 copies of X-Blades on the endcap. Neither were tagged, they were just there. They weren't there on Monday. They scanned "item not found". I went the 90% off route at the register. Told the cashier $7.48.

That wouldnt make it 90%, that would mean 74.80 is the original price. 90% of a 59.99 game would be 5.99. 7.48 is more like 87.5%

So after Taget games hit 75% percent, anyone know how its determined if it goes lower, or if its just dropped out of the system? You would think that Target would make the drops consistant too, some go 9.98 while others 7.48?

Okay, I went 87%ish off. I just went half off the 75% mark. It used to be that way a little over a year ago. It seems as if 75% off is the final drop before they drop out of the system and ship out. I used to see $60 games priced at $7.48, $50 at $6.24, $40 at $4.98, and the rare $30 to $3.74 game(PS3 Fear a year ago). This is just not the case anymore.

Yes they are on clearance between $10 and 14...most stores only got a few copies to begin with so you aren't likely to find these easily.

Central NJ: Picked up last two copies of Xblades. Picked up scene it for $27 they had 1 more left. Saw about 20 copies of need for speed undergroud for $27 and dozens upon dozens of GH3. Two copies of Wheelman for PS3 at $45 I think. Phantasy Star for PSP was $17 along with Rachet and Clank for PSP for $17. Sorry I don't own a PSP so I didn't pay much attention to the entire title.

No PC games and a few crappy DVD movies.

It's amazing to hear that some cashiers kinda let you name your price on out-of-system clearance games! No so at my local stores. Some would call the electronics dept and they would look up the last known price, and other would flat out won't sell it.

Naming prices on "item not found" games is extremely YMMV. When I do come across them, I try to find a cashier who'll most likely not care. I've gotten shot down on this before too. College Hoops, Lego Batman. Some of these in the glass cases. It's all about the hunt though isn't it?

Went to my local "good deal" Target - they still had the 50% off on PoP and Afro Samurai. I went ahead and picked up BOS!, since they had 3 on the shelf on Monday and only 1 tonight. Figure $20 is better than not getting it at all. My wife and I played the heck out of the old one. I was hopeful that I'd find what the above poster found with the 75% off, but I figured not, since mine just went 50% on Monday.

I've had a great run of luck with my local Target store. Plus, it doesn't hurt to have a few spie... I mean friends letting me know when some of the games I've been looking for have been moved to the Clearence shelves. I recently saw Lips for X360 for like $30. Too bad I had already splurged and bought them for full price. Oh well. I'll learn one of these days.

Wow. I'd totally jump on them for that price. All of the Targets around here just dropped to $29.98 on both of those this week. I'm going to be really surprised if Afro Samurai is still here by the time it would drop again, as I've only seen a few copies in the stores I've been to. Prince of Persia seems a little more likely, as the stores seem to have considerably more copies. But I'm not holding my breath on either.

My Target had dozens of copies of Guitar Hero III for $7.48. I almost grabbed Resident Evil 4 for PS2 for $5 and Midway Arcade Tresures III for $3.XX.

What's funny is that they had a handful of Prince of Persia's hanging up for $14.98 in the clearance section, but they also had some behind the glass case in the 360 area tagged at around $42. Also, only the 360 version was $14.98, whereas the PS3 version was behind its glass case at about $30 or so I think.

Yeah, same thing at my Target. They must've had more than 20 copies of GH3 at $7.48. Not a bad deal if you don't own, or never owned the game. I already have it though.

I only spent $150 for a PS3 so, spending $200 on a 360 wouldn't be considered cheap enough for me.

Have I mentioned lately how much I in' loathe my local Target? The two copies of XBlades for PS3 that were there last week or so...LONG GONE.

They were still coming up $60 last week. How much do you wanna bet that the lazy bastards finally did the in' updates to drop it to $15 and POOF, off they went.

Thankfully Kmart is still a decent source of deals for me or I'd REALLY be pissed.
