This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

that's actually a pretty terrible breakdown. first off, the 360 deserves way more space than the psp and at least as much as, if not more than, the ps3. and most of the nintendo space is wasted with crappy 3rd party games that even the clueless casuals won't buy.

My Target is the same. They have 2-3 cases for Wii and GC, 1 for 360, 1 for PS3, and 1 for PS2. Though the 360 is usually full and only 1 Wii case is full, the other is about half full.

The aisle behind has mostly PS2, PSP, and Wii games. Most of the Wii games are the $15 shovelware like Chicken Shoot. They also have DS games in that aisle. There's usually a few good DS games there (I found Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword for $15 there).

Then 3 end caps for mixed 29.99 and under games for all systems. So I think it all depends on the store.

Every Target is going to be different, but I would wager to say that very few are going to have 20+ copies of a desirable game like F.E.A.R. 2 hit 50% off or greater. If your Target does seem to be way behind the clearance cycles others are reporting, you might try double-checking the prices at a scanner; one of my locals is terrible about updating the stickers, and I have had games scan 2 cycles below the stickered price numerous times.

Yeah it was the South Bay one. Sorry I got the last NFS. They still had copies of Smackdown VS Raw 09 and LOTR Conquest on 360 as of yesterday. They also had a couple of Secret Agent Clanks on PSP for $9.98.

the highlight was Left for Dead @ 12.48.. Had a moment at first because there was only 1 copy left on the end cap but someone had broken the plastic wrap and seal and slipped the disc out, but after checking out the glass case I saw they had 1 copy mixed in with the GOY version so I got 1..
 
Picked up L4D @ 12.48 and B N&B for 9.98 today at the 122nd and Glisan Target in Portland, OR.

They had 2 more copies of L4D I thought about buying and flippin', but thought I'd gave another CAG a shot at scoring them. You could buy them and flip them for Ghostbusters at Gamecrazy, so $25 for Ghostbusters.. good deal.

Also had MCvDC for 14xx, lots of GH3 for 7xx, and 1 copy of Afro Samurai for 14xx.. some other PS3, Wii, and whatnot I didn't commit to memory.

All listed were for 360.

If it holds out to that many copies at 75% off. We had the Hanna Montana Video/MP3 player at mine. They had 50 copies, or a complete endcap full of 8 shelves. It stayed that way until 75% off where it sold about 50% of the copies. I went in a week or so later and they had been marked down to 85%. First time and only I've seen 85%. I think it only hit that mark because of teh sheer number of copies. I've seen game on the shelf for longer, and they never hit 85%.
 
Just got home from the Niles, IL Target (I believe that's technically Niles...the one by Village Crossing) and picked up the last copy of Secret Agent Clank for $9.98, as well as a copy of Star Ocean: SE for $9.98 (they had one copy left) ...they also had about 3-4 copies of Wheelman(PS3) for $14.98 and the usual GH3 for $7.48
 
Bought the last 2 copies of L4D for $12.48. One for me and one for my brother.

The current drops on games is certainly weird. L4D went from $35 to $13.

The two targets that still have DC vs MK are still holding at $30.
 
Today I picked up Guitar Hero III for Xbox 360 in the clearance section at the Target in Nashville TN on White Bridge Road for $7.48. There were tons of them left....probably at least 50 copies still on the clearance shelf. This is the game only...not the guitar controller bundles. BTW...the other Target just down the road on Charlotte Pk had none.
 
Picked up The Getaway PS3 for $14.98 this morning and Secret Agent Clank (PSP) for $9.98. Also saw Tiger Woods 09 (PSP) and Scrabble for $7.48, but I didn't grab them.
 
God, I hate my Target. Today they had Monsters v Aliens for $12.48. And Riddick finally marked at $41. But everything else was the same price it's been for a month. MKvDC for $41, PoP for $29, LotR for $27, BK N&B for $19. All 360, btw.

L4D went down? I was at Target in Sioux City Iowa on Saturday, and it was on clearance for $35. Might have to make another trip down there if it's $12!

Finally saw some big drops today, they hadn't done the video game clearance when I got there (and the clearance woman seems to dislike me for some reason even though I try to be very polite)... I asked about Wheelman and NFS:U and they both had big drops, Wheelman to $14.98 (from $30) and NFSU to $12.48 (directly from $34.98).

Good week to check out the clearance stuff, apparently.

What else did you find there? Also, do they have any more Left 4 Dead's?
 
I was extremely satisfied to get Wheelman PS3 and DC Vs. MK X360 for $14.98 each from the Rocky Mount, NC target. There was one copy of Wheelman left and 2x Prince of Persia X360 at $14.98 there when I left.

Picked up SVR 2009 on Xbox and 2X Left 4 Dead for 12.98 at Grand Praire Texas Target along with MV vs. DC for 14.98. Sold MV vs DC for 30 and the left 4 deads for $35 each. I made me some money today!!:bouncy:
 
At least I see other people encountering 30% to 75% drops in one week. I saw last week copies of 360 Left 4 Dead $34.98, 360 LotR Conquest $27.98, 360 Scene It BOS $27.98, and that Banjo Kazooie game for $27.98. Today they were all 75% off. Nabbed Left 4 Dead and Scene It for 12.48 and $9.98. Boompods are disappearing from most of the store around me at the $9.98 price. Might have to get one at $9.98 before they disappear.

in my three favorite genres. unfortunately NFS: U sucked in reviews, so that's going back...bye Maggie Q. :drool:
 
Nothing new on clearance in Mayfield Hts., OH. I was very happy with my pick-ups, all last ones and all hit 75% off today...

Secret Agent Clank (PSP) $9.98

Lips (360) $12.48

There were other 75% off games which I had in my hand but didn't buy, because I really didn't want to spend $50+ today--Star Ocean (PSP) at $9.98, Need for Speed somethingerother (360) at $12.48, I believe.
 
Picked up Star Ocean: Second Evolution (PSP) and Secret Agent Clank (PSP) -- both rung up at $9.98 and both were tagged at $27.98.

I love people who don't use the price check scanners.
 
Picked up MK vs. DC for 14.98, after waiting patiently for a long time. I had thought about pulling the trigger at $30, and I'm really glad I waited.

$15 is the mark where I'll buy a game, even if I just have a passing interest in the game.
 
I'll be heading out after work tonight (8) to see if the lone copy of MK vs DC is still there, and if it's reached the magical $15 point. Fingers crossed!
 
Saw a crapload of Riddick and 50 cent BOTS.
They we're marked 41.xx and I scanned them and they scanned the same price, I hid two for myself hoping for a price drop this week or next Monday, also seen a copy of banjo for 9.xx
