This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

First, let me give a shout out to guessed who hooked me up last week. This great CAG'er obtained a copy of a game on clearance at BB and met me F2F after work. He only wanted his cost too (but I paid him more). I sure did appreciate his taking the time to help me out. THANKS!

My local target moves the shelf every so many months. Just remember the back end of every target shelf is for clearance or discounted items.
 
I found several stacks of L4D (360) for $34.98. I don't know if that is really a good clearance though... Only saw it while getting the GOTY edition last week. :p
 
If anyone sees any L4D on clearance at any Target around Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, Lancaster, Willow Grove and north of Philly please send me a message. I get around.... LOL

I ended up getting Rock Band 2 and the Wheelman for $14.98 each on the PS3, and Loco Roco 2 for $4.98. Probably going to head to another Target to look for Star Ocean 2,

If they are not GOTY editions, scan them. There are many reports of the price scanning at $12.48.
 
Meh, still mainly Xbox360 items, which I don't have, lol. But did pick up Wheelman for $15. Also had NCAA Basketball 09 for $15 too, but passed on that since I'm not a huge sports game fan. Had many copies of GH: WT for PS3 for $30, so hoping that drops to $15 so I can play with my RB2 instruments from the GS deal!

At my store, they have these new sticker printers connected to the CSR registers. If you return a clearance item it automatically prints out a new one with the current price. Sucks for me, as I was returning clearance items to buy the next morning cheaper...they used to just stick the returned games in the game cases, but now they sticker them and put them in the clearance shelf for everyone to see and buy.

Since you consider it free, I doubt being honest, telling Target their mistake, and paying the $15 is an option here....correct?
 
My local Target has a bunch of L4Ds the regular edition but they are not on the clearance rack. Does anyone know if these will ring up for cheaper at the register?

Not guaranteed but it should. Ask someone to do a price check (as long as it's regular and not GOTY edition)

Read the first page. You can 1) type in the dcpi number and get the price 2) print its UPC barcode and scan it to get the price 3) ask an employee to scan it.

I got the last copy of most of these games except for Smackdown VS Raw 2 left at the Rowlett Texas store as of 2PM today.
 
I had told myself I wasn't going to buy anymore Target clearance. So much for promises.

Even if the copy of L4D is marked at $35, scan it on a scanner or have an employee scan it. Odds are that the employees just haven't put the new sticker on.

Thanks for that Emg! I went to Target today before close just in case they wouldn't return/rebuy on the spot, but the girl did it for me. So now I got Dead Rising for WII at $19.xx instead of the 27.xx I paid earlier!

Where was Lego Indiana Jones 13.xx?? I though I read that earlier on the thread. As for Left 4 Dead, it was still behind the glass case at my target with a price tag of 49.99. I had checked last week and it was still that price, so ask someone to scan it and you may get lucky!
 
I was able to get a PoP and Afro Samurai over the last two days at two different Targets, so I'm happy.

Now, I'm just looking for a $12.48 copy of L4D and looking for a Target that will carry Dead Rising - Chop Til You Drop until it can get clearanced to $10. Any Cincinnati CAG'ers seen any cheap copies of L4D at the Targets around town?

Went back to my local store today and all the good stuff was gone (like l4d, PoP). Only noticed Scene It Box Office and Banjo Nuts & Bolts dropped to $10. Everything else (50 cent, FEAR 2) were the same.

Picked up a Scene It set.

I hit about 3 other Targets in the Pittsburgh Area today and can confirm these prices, along with the others posted throughout the day. Pretty much anything that people posted at its lowest point hit in this area today.

keep a close eye on it. mine was like that a few days ago and today it dropped to 13. so the drop should happen soon.
 
My target had at least 6 copies of pokemon sapphire at 24.99. I was going to buy one, but I decided to wait a week to see if it goes down in price. RB2 for PS3 was 14.xx. Everything else pretty much sucked and wasn't discounted that much.
 
I need to check Target for Banjo Kazooie: N&B Glad I returned it when I did (pre-ordered it for the BK code. GS screwed me over and I didn't get it). I probably won't find it since my Target sucks.

I'd recommend buying it. Pokemon games are typically slow in price drops and GBA games will probably be off of shelves before you can find it new for less.
 
I'll repeat: even if L4D is marked at $34.xx scan it under a price checker or have an employee scan it. Odds are it'll scan as $12.48 That's the way one of them I bought yesterday was.
 
Picked up the last L4D on the clearance rack at the Shawnee, KS Target. Sticker price was still $34 something, but scanned at $12.48. The Mission, Ks Target and the Legends Target didn't have any copies.

As of Tuesday morning the Overland park Target doesn't have L4D either, but i did see 3 copies of Ninja Blade.

Thanx for the reccomendation. I'll probably go and buy it tomorrow morning. I don't want to miss out on it. It'll give me something to play on my GB Microv:D
 
I have also saw the random GBA games show up, and I will kick my self if one I passed on is not still there in the morning. I did not realize Pokemon Emerald went for $70 new on Amazon.

You won't be disappointed. I don't think you'll ever find it for much less than $20 but it's a great game and definitely worth the $25. Ruby and Sapphire had the best region in any Pokemon game, IMO. It was big and very diverse. I also think the Pokemon introduced in it were the best since Red and Blue.

I'm pretty sure you could get a better deal on ebay. Those are just ridiculously(sp?) priced. If you look at ruby it goes for $120. Ya no thanx lol.

Also damn you icedrake523, I don't want to spend more money but you're pushing me lol. They should still be there tomorrow. If not, well then I made a stupid decision.
 
I finally had some good luck with Target clearance. I've got Wheelman and Rock Band 2 for $14.98 each. I think the last PS3 game to make it to 75% off that I wanted was The Orange Box. Hell, even Haze and Pure didn't make it past 50% off.

It looks like alot of CAGs had good hauls today. One of the problems of living in an area with alot of Targets nearby, besides the competition, is deciding which Target to go to first on Mondays. Well, yesterday morning I chose correctly and picked up:

Left 4 Dead - $12.48
NFS: Undercover 360 - $12.48
Scene It!: BOS - $9.98
Secret Agent Clank PSP - $9.98
Wheelman PS3 - $14.98

This was all at the first Target I checked. I even passed on Rockband 2 PS3 for $14.98. After that, I decided to call it a day and went home. I'll check some other Targets later on today since I'm still looking for Scrabble PSP and maybe MK vs DC. Actually, I kind of hope I don't find MK vs DC so I don't have to go through the struggle of deciding whether to buy it or not.
