This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Varies, but usually on the endcaps of the aisles near games and electronics.

To answer Oldboy's question, games being on clearance are pretty much standard across the board. If it's not clearanced yet, it's only a matter of time. The YMMV part is the pricing.
 
Found Wheelman PS3 for $15

Has anyone seen HotD Overkill lower than $35? Mine still has one but behind glass. Been there for a few weeks so Im guessing no ones looking.

Thought that I should chime in as well; the locations vary by store. I usually just ask a CSR in electronics, "Excuse me sir, where can I find your electronics clearance section?". That usually saves me from take the "tour" around the store.
 
Target in Tallahassee finally dropped Banjo & Kazooie to $10. They also have like 6 copies of GH World Tour for PS3 for $30

I didn't really want it. I would have gotten it for other CAGs here. I was looking for Banjo Kazooie. I saw one about a month ago but it was marked down to $29 or $19. Should have price scanned it to double check. I also should have checked in the computer stuff since I found Metroid Prime Hunters back there for $10.


The Target I went to was in Watchung, NJ. If anyone has any luck at the Target in Clark, NJ or Union, NJ, let me know. I might check the Union one later tonight.

It was quite a pain to find one, but I finally got the last copy of L4D in Novato, CA! 12.48, I'm stoked.

However, after having searched the Bay Area all morning via telephone and internet, I was told that the store in San Bruno, very near SF, has five copies that are still in the glass case without clearance tags, but they ring up 12.48, so if you're in the Bay Area, go get 'em! The associate told me they weren't moving them out of the case anytime soon, so it could be a steal for those in the know.

I went to the Union one yesterday (assuming you mean the one on 22). They had Wheelman for PS3 for $15 (But only one that I grabbed), but that was really the only 75% game. Though they did have some games, just not 75% off (Sorry, don't really recall which other ones they had).

I can't recall a busier couple of days in Ye Olde Target thread in a while. It occurred to me that most of the games I have played this year have been from Target. I finish 'em while the trade value is decent and end up playing them for free or almost free. Thanks everybuddy!
 
Finally. My Targets (lex ky) finally dropped the prices on most of the games from this list. I managed to get a price adjustment (14.98) on an Afro Samurai that I picked up last week. Plenty of the games still haven't dropped. And most of the good games are gone. Thanks again to everyone involved in posting these deals!
 
Well, despite what Target Mobile claimed, neither the Ann Arbor nor the Ann Arbor East locations had any clearance copies of L4D.

However, I was able to pick up a copy of :360: Banjo Kazooie: N&B at the Ann Arbor east location for $9.98, one copy left still at the store.

Also, the Ann Arbor East location also had at least 10+ copies of :360: Prince of Persia for $15.
 
Picked up MK vs DC for $15 and Halo Wars LE for $20 doing the return/rebuy thing.

And for those asking how accurate the online inventory is: My store showed "out of stock" for both games last night before I returned them. When I got home 15 minutes later after returning them, it showed "limited availability". This afternoon I bought them back and came home (15 minutes again), and the inventory checker said "out of stock" again. I'd call that fairly accurate. I think the only problem you would run into is if an item is listed as "limited availability" you may not still find it as it could be stashed or misplaced.

And if you are looking for the clearance section in a particular store, it nevers hurts to look at all the endcap clearance shelves for every department. I can't count the number of times I've found games in sporting goods, hardware, or toys, etc. Plus you never know what else you'll find on clearance...like halogen light bulbs which are as expensive as all get out. You'll also find a lot of misplaced or stashed games in the value section(the ones not locked up in cases). Just look around.

I can't wait to see how many pm's I get asking me to pick them up a copy of Halo Wars!
 
Damn. Was only able to pick up the last L4D on clearance and they had a bunch of the ninja game at 30 as well as some other crap I wasn't interested in. Clerk was pissed he didn't get a chance to buy the game. This store seemed on top of their clearance pricing but when I had him price scan Wheelman, it showed up as 49.99. I'll try and come back in a few days to see if it drops more. They had a couple other games it would've been nice to have but I figured they didn't drop them yet since they weren't out on the "special" rack.

It looks like alot of CAGs had good hauls today. One of the problems of living in an area with alot of Targets nearby, besides the competition, is deciding which Target to go to first on Mondays. Well, yesterday morning I chose correctly and picked up:

Left 4 Dead - $12.48

This was all at the first Target I checked. I even passed on Rockband 2 PS3 for $14.98. After that, I decided to call it a day and went home. I'll check some other Targets later on today since I'm still looking for Scrabble PSP and maybe MK vs DC. Actually, I kind of hope I don't find MK vs DC so I don't have to go through the struggle of deciding whether to buy it or not.

I went by today all clearance games were cleaned out but they did have some 8.9" Navy Blue Netbooks with windows XP. They were on clearance for $209.38, marked down from $299, was gonna buy one but changed my mind.

Specs were:

1 gig ram
16gb SSD
Xp home edition
wireless b/g

Asus EEE.

Yeh, I saw 2 of these at the Target I visited toady. I managed to snah:
Left 4 Dead for $12.xx &
Prince of Persia $14.xx FINALLY!!!

All you guys saying for the past eternity that you got this game for this price has been killing me.
 
Picked up Banjo Kazooie: N&B for 9.xx (last one)
Saw about 10 copies of MK vs DCU for 14.xx at the Target in Salem, MA

I do have to admit I was tempted for about 2 seconds to buy up all the L4Ds at my Target to flip on Amazon, but then I remembered that I'm not a despicable human being.

No changes at my Target . Scooped up the last L4D for $12 and hopefully can hook up a fellow San Diego Cag . Also this rocks for $11 clearance

Finally! The Target I go to in Kissimmee, FL has had Prince of Persia 360 sitting at $30 for the last month or so. Went in today and it finally went down to the $15 that most places are reporting. Snatched one up for a friend, two were still left in the case.
 
Got the last copy of L4D at my Target. They actually had a clearance rack. I'm kind of new to all of these clearance threads, but that was the first I saw an endcap and games marked in my area. And I didn't see any GT5:p or R&CF. I guess that mistake was caught pretty fast. Oh well.

GT5:p and R&CF were not mistakes. The prices were reduced so that the new Greatest Hits packaging could be brought in. Also, the targets I've been to had both games inside the case, not the endcap. If you didn't look for them in the case, you probably missed them.
