This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

target in new britain (CT) had a few PoP 360s.

And they had wheelman on clearance, but the sticker still says 41 dollars. I asked the guy to price check, and he wouldn't even scan it says its 40 because it says 40. Do you guys know if that is true? Is this clearance all Targets?

there were more clearance games, but prices were not as low as being reported here. And I didnt even ask the guy to scan cuz he was such a douche.
GT5:p and R&CF were not mistakes. The prices were reduced so that the new Greatest Hits packaging could be brought in. Also, the targets I've been to had both games inside the case, not the endcap. If you didn't look for them in the case, you probably missed them.
I thought someone said they were mistakes. Whoops. I did check the cases though. I saw one case that had GH titles and new games like Prototype in it, and then a regular case. I didn't see them in either. I only had mild interest in GT5:p anyway and I already own R&CF.

Maybe if it drops below $100, but apparently it's not a very good compact laptop. It has a 16GB SSD for storage, is exceptionally slow even with smaller apps, and only has a battery life of about 2-3 hours.

I dunno, maybe you're right that it was a mistake. I just thought it was supposed to be that way because the shelf at the Target I went to today still had R&CF showing as $14.98, the GT5:p spot still showed at $9.98, but was sold out.:whistle2:?

Well my Target must have done the drops yesterday late and then either got hit by a hoarder or just the employees. I had to go back by today so of coruse I looked at the games and all of the MK v DC, PoP, & LotR were gone. Sucks.

And if you are looking for the clearance section in a particular store, it nevers hurts to look at all the endcap clearance shelves for every department. I can't count the number of times I've found games in sporting goods, hardware, or toys, etc. Plus you never know what else you'll find on clearance...like halogen light bulbs which are as expensive as all get out. You'll also find a lot of misplaced or stashed games in the value section(the ones not locked up in cases). Just look around.
What works best for me is I go up to the guy in the red shirt in electronics and ask "Where can I find your clearance games?" This has worked every time for me.

Would love to get L4D :360: or Rock Band 2 :ps3: -- too bad I can't find them ANYWHERE!

I picked up Wheelman tonight for $14.whatever; surprised it made it that far as it was the last copy. Saw 50 Cent for $41.98, need to drop.

Don't all Targets have self scanners? I always scan the actual item or many CAGs scan the UPC from a printed sheet or punch in the DPCI number. No need to rely on a disgruntled employee.

Saw one of theseat my Target. Was wondering if its worth it for the wife to browse the web and manage itunes. Or pay the extra $80 and get a newer model. anyone have any experience with the eee pc 900?

At the 5th street target in Reading PA they had PS3 Tomb Raider for 20.98(one left), PS3 GH World Tour (game only and like 7-10ish there) for 29.98 and then the usual game clearance
Also had the EEE net book for 150, almost picked it up, but it looked like a return, since the seal was broke and redone

The target at Paper Mill Road was a bust for anything new.

both had 29.99 R&C and GT5P

I was happy with my take today at the Target in Benton, Arkansas(all xbox 360):

NFS - Undercover $12
LOTR - Conquest $10

I passed on Banjo/K for $12.

I have seen Riddick stuck at $41 at two Targets. I bet that will drop next week.

Also, Ninja Blade was $27 but I picked up a copy at Toys 'R Us last week for $20. Just FYI.
I have seen Riddick stuck at $41 at two Targets. I bet that will drop next week.
i'm betting (and hoping) that this is true. when it hits $25 or less, it's as good as bought.

I didn't play the original xbox game. I know it received high praise but is it any good by this generation's standards?

I believe I read this game only sold 50,000 copies the first month of release.

finally got a good score at target toda.
MK vs DCU 14xx
Afro 14.xx
Loco Roco 2, 5 b bucks
Secret agent clank 10 bucks..

did not pick up POP 15, SMvsR2009 13, wheelman 13 or nbalive 9.99
Saw one of theseat my Target. Was wondering if its worth it for the wife to browse the web and manage itunes. Or pay the extra $80 and get a newer model. anyone have any experience with the eee pc 900?
I had a 701, which was a model back, the primary difference being a smaller screen (7" versus 9").

Overall the machine was nice - I used it for a trip to Japan. I could connect to all sorts of wireless networks, check e-mail, watch Youtube here and there, etc. A useful machine for light use.

However, I just couldn't get used to the smaller-than-normal keyboard. It wasn't so bad that you couldn't use it, but it WAS a chore adapting to it, and even after that I was still making lots of mistakes.

If space and weight issues are the absolute top priorities with a new laptop, or if you have smaller hands, then get a netbook like the EEE. Otherwise just get a full sized machine for slightly more money, since you gain so much more with that small bit of cash (optical drives, bigger hard drives, more memory, better chip speeds, ability to run more software, bigger screens, etc).

I think it would work for, say, a college student OR someone who wants a tiny laptop for limited usage. But otherwise I was pretty disappointed with it. Again, it does it's job fairly well - I just couldn't get used to it.

Browsing the net and using iTunes? I imagine it could handle that. Doing both at the same time might drag a bit, given how much bloat iTunes can have and the unnecessary satellite programs it runs. If I had opened multiple Youtube videos, though, it started to chug. Granted this newer model is more powerful, so maybe that was just mine.

Hope this helps.

If anyone finds Scrabble for PSP I would either trade loco roco 2 for it or pay for it + shipping.

I picked up a copy of Loco Roco 2 and Star Ocean 2 today.
still looking for L4D, HELP CAG's!
The Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack, NY has about 10 left.

If looking for Left 4 Dead, check the case for copies behind the GOTY editions. You may detect the lack of the red GOTY banner on the front if visible or I believe the red 4 on the spine is lower on the $12.48 copies than the GOTY editions. Or you could just ask the CSR to pull them all out to see if there are any non GOTY in the back of the stack. This is how I got mine.

Was able to pick up the last L4D at the Yakima Target for 12.48. Just could not pass that up. They had Ninja Blade, but it was still ringing up at 27.98. Riddick was on clearance for 41.xx and some other game but the name of it escapes me now.

Will double check that. My stores clearance end cap was just a single 3' shelf. Was able to grab Afro Samurai for $14 though! :D
GT5:p and R&CF were not mistakes. The prices were reduced so that the new Greatest Hits packaging could be brought in. Also, the targets I've been to had both games inside the case, not the endcap. If you didn't look for them in the case, you probably missed them.
DARN It! actually, i think it was. i went there today to buy GT and it was still in the clearance section but when I scanned it, it came up at 29.99. i visited this place last week and they also had the R&C for 14 bucks. Now, gone! On my way home, i was talking to myself while punching my head for not buyng it last week. Im going nuts!!!

Yeah the keys are tiny. I have big hands and anyway I was trying to get a feel of the keyboard but there was a plastic housing covering it. I can't imagine these things doing playing any games or to watch videos on. Maybe just light surfing and email. I wonder if you could hook up an external HD to it through one of the 2.0 USB ports and if it would recognize it. The computer section is way in the back where nobody goes so I don't think anybody even knows it's on sale.
Good man , fight the good fight . No changes at my Target . Scooped up the last L4D for $12 and hopefully can hook up a fellow San Diego Cag . Also this rocks for $11 clearance

Haha, I was attempting to do this today, sometimes impossible if other games are on the side, you can only see so far back. Did actually spot what could have been a copy, but the lack of a cashier and a run to pick up my brother at the gym made me leave early. This target also had some old scanners so I'll have to bring a upc next time to check.

Yea, even then you may want to try going to a different store to see if they've fixed it. The Target I was at this morning still had the prices in the case at $14.98 and $9.98. I think they're supposed to sell it to you if the price on the shelf is lower than what it rings up. You could certainly raise some hell for it if they give you trouble.

I picked up two copies of Monsters vs. Aliens for the 360 today, and then I hit the motherload at the Summit Mall in Akron Ohio. 4 copies of L4D, 1 of MvA, and one of NFS: Undercover.

The copies of L4D were in the glass case behind the GOTY editions, so it is definitely worth checking!

FYI, I have 3 more left(1 sealed and two that just had the wrapping removed to FYE them). The two new ones that just don't have wrapping are going back to FYE tomorrow(I couldn't trade after 730 tonight due to city rules) but I'd be glad to give them to someone on here instead.

I'd like $22+3 shipping for the USA since I'm trying to get what FYE would give me.(excluding shipping)

The reason for that is that I am trying to get money for college by flipping this stuff. :)

If they are back of the pack, they should still be there when you return unless you have trouble with lurkers in you area. This may also be why CAGs are seeing them in stock online, but not finding them in store.

Went to two target stores but couldn't find L4D at either one of them. I did find out from the associate working in electronics that they had received a memo which permits the associates to buy clearance games and as long as the game is not opened, it can be brought back for price adjustment unlimited number of times. For instance, a game can be bought at 41.98 and then can be brought back for price adjustment at each subsequent clearance price drop provided it hasn't been opened.

Sounds a little suspicious, but who knows. Apparently, it is a way to provide incentive to employees and keep the turnover rates low.

Good idea checking for Left 4 Dead behind the GotY editions on the rack. I'll have to check tomorrow.

As for everyone in here begging for L4D, introduce yourself to the Target Clearance Trading Thread located here. Please don't clutter up the thread with that stuff.

Also, anyone who purchased anything in the last couple weeks, remember that Target now will price match for up to 2 weeks so bring in your game and receipt and ask them to adjust the price for you at the customer service desk. I got the copy of WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2009 adjusted to the $12.xx price today. ;)

I went to Target and behind the locked glass display they had Left 4 Dead GotY editions. I asked the sales associate to open the locked case and check behind the first one and behind it were five regular Left 4 Dead non-goty editions that ring up at $12.48. LOL! Thanks for the suggestion.

I saw 3 copies at the Pearland store this past Friday on the clearance endcap. They were still 34.98 on Friday.

Picked up Saints Row 2 and Left 4 Dead for 12.48 each.

For anyone in the area the Manhattan Beach, CA Target has:

4 Copies of Saints Row 2
1 Copy of Left 4 Dead it's still in the case behind the GOTY versions.

Saw Guitar Hero World Tour for the PS3 For 34.98 DPCI: 207-24-0162

Price adjustments are YMMV as it depends on the CSR doing the transaction. Target policy is to refund the difference due to a sale or price drop for up to two weeks...this does not apply to clearance price drops. The system will not allow them to make an adjustment for clearance drops. However, the CSR can get around this technicality by doing a return/rebuy with just a receipt but this is their discretion as they are not supposed to according to policy.

I used to have a nice lady at Customer Service do the return/rebuy for me all the time until she told me one day that district management dropped the hammer about sticking to policy. Pretty much all of the 8 stores around me won't allow clearance price adjustments...unless you get a rookie! Nothing worse than getting a rookie CSR who is willing to do the return/rebuy but can't figure out how to do it so they call another CSR over to help who then proceeds to tell them they can't do it.

The two week refund policy doesn't really make sense as you have 90 days to return items. You can buy an item again when it has gotten cheaper and then return it with your older receipt. (How many "you're committing fraud" posts is this comment gonna generate!?!)

No fraud involved if you return an item with a reciept and buy the same or another identical one at a lower price. Thanks for the post. Unless someone can quote some new Target policy that this is the case, I choose your explaination.

Here's a thought..... With today's economic situation why would Target make it easier to simply give money back to consumers buying clearance items?

Doesn't sound like fraud to me. It sounds like playing by their policy rules...

Can anyone tell me if these clearances are storewide clearances or do they depend on individual stores? I ask because alot of the clearances prices at the targets around me are always so much higher than the ones i read about and was wondering if they just hadn't relabeled them or whatnot. thanks!

These prices do not hit every store at the same time. The prices on the first post are the lowest that have been reported and confirmed. Your local Targets may be higher (or lower,:D). This latest drop seems to have hit all Targets everywhere. This is not normally the case. Just look back a few pages before this drop and you will find many posts (mine included) lamenting the fact that nothing has dropped for a month while CAGs in other parts of the country are finding 75% off or better deals.

EDIT: It always pays to scan a clearance item. The system may have a lower price while the item may not have been retagged.
