This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Willoughby, OH Target had nothing new and nothing was reduced, except for a pool (billiards) game for the GBA, down to $4.9x, 50% off. The one copy of 50 Cent's game was $41.9x. There was nothing else on clearance worth looking at.
 
Went today in Ocean, NJ and picked up a copy of Left4Dead for $12.98. They said it was the last copy, but I think there was one more in the back.

My local Target had some non-greatest hits packaging Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII for $20 so I picked up a copy.

My favorite local Target actually dropped GH to the $3.xx price point (85% off?).
So I couldn't pass it up as a gift for my lil brother.

Usually that Target NEVER drops the price past the 75% off point... I have seen them take items off of the floor (for the dumpster maybe?) before they drop any item past the 75% off mark... Oh well, for just $4 I couldn't pass up the gift. :D

Saw final fantasty tactics for psp at $3.49 if i recall correctly on the change, was gonna pull the trigger but i don't like rpg's. 50 cent blood on the sand finally dropped to 14.98 and ninja blade to 19.98. chronicles of riddick at 29.98. secret agent clank psp was 19.98 and GHIII 7.98 i believe, naruto 3 psp 27.98. Picked up: 50 cent BOT and ninja blade

The Fredericksburg, VA Target has jack squat. If anyone has got a copy of L4D and would like to sell it for a reasonable price, please let me know.

No, I'm from Culpeper but all I have is a Target and Walmart so if I need something from the "big city" I have to drive 45 miles. Only cool thing about that is I live the same distance from Winchester, Manassas/Fairfax, Charlottesville, and Fredericksburg so I have alot of choices. I used to prefer Fredericksburg as Sears, Kmart, and TRU to some extent used to be goldmines and they were fairly close together...but they are pretty much dead now like you said.

And for all us Fredericksburg area CAGs lets have an agreement: don't post what the local stores have unless they have lots of copies (like the 15+ Fear 2's I saw) or it has been a week since the drop. Let's give each other a chance to get the deals before we post it here for everybody to see. Now that we know each other we can always PM each other and ask if we've seen anything good. And there are quite a few Fredericksburg area CAGs (hobbie and crazedracerguy come to mind) so we have alot of competition just among ourselves.

Hey jeffpm, the stafford south (Falmouth) store had some L4D behind the GOTY editions but that was last week and I posted it here last week too...might be worth a shot.

A buddy of mine grabbed the last one there Monday evening; drove him there to check because he was back in town from Blacksburg and had been looking for a deal on it for quite a while. It was strange as they were out of the GOTY ones and there was just one regular edition sitting there in the case. It's a shame FEAR dropped yesterday as he was also trying to grab that; we stopped by Cosner's around 5pm on Monday and it was still $24.
 
Enough with the trading posts in here. One person in particular can't seem to quite get that we have a trading thread for requests for games and games for sale/trade. The link to it is in the OP.

Please use it. Cleaning up trading posts over and over again is getting tiring.

Sometimes i hate that my targets are alwasy behind... but then again i can see everyone else missing out...... and remember to go check.... lol sorry

PS3 version isn't on clearance, only the 360.
 
Found Saint's Row 2 marked as $24.xx inside a security box, so I went to scan it, and picked it up for $12.xx. Not a single copy of anything else people have been listing in all four Targets in town (no FEAR2, HAWX, PoP, Endwar, etc), but there's about 10 copies of We Cheer at 19.99, and have been there for a week+.

I don't think I've ever seen Stoked at Target. TRU has had it on clearance for $10 for a while now.

Generally, yes. I have seen things magically reappear in limited numbers before long after they had been gone, but I assume that those were found hoarder stashes.
 
Just in case anyone hasn't checked the Gamestop sale thread, HAWX and Wheelman (both systems) are $19.99 new.. I grabbed them there rather than keep searching Target for Wheelman and waiting for HAWX to drop.
 
Has anyone been noticing that a lot more games have been going on clearance, sitting longer, and dropping faster? I've been noticing this at the Targets near me.
 
Does anybody know anything about Targets in the Bay Area, specifically the South Bay? I always see people list deals but there always for Targets on the East Coast and none here in NorCal.

Left 4 Dead is PC/360 exclusive.
 
Hey guy, thanks for the tip to look behind the GOY-L4D, in the glass case. The clerk said he did not think a regular one was mixed in. But, it was & I got it it for $12.48. :D

a couple guys do but usually i see everywhere in the bay area but the southern part. I was able to check on here last week and someone posted that there were a few copies of l4d at the target in san bruno and i was able to get one.

usually i just check on here, see what everyone else in the US is getting and check if its worth it to run out and see for myself.
