This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I found a copy of Afro Samurai priced at $14.98. Since all the scanners were "temporarily unavailable" (for the past week ), I asked a guy with a hanheld scanner to check the price for me. I was hoping to get lucky and maybe get it at the "mythical" 85% off but it still came up at $14.98. It would've most likely rang up as out of the system. I already have a copy so I left it in the "Value Price" games aisle (right behind M&M Kart Racing).

I know there is a register prompt after they scan Fear 2 to check ID because of the game rating...they can't scan anything else until they scan your liscense or remove the item from your total. I've had a cashier scan another game right after the prompt came up, so they didn't actually ring it up but thought they did. That's how you got one free I bet.

Well I'm not complaining since I got the game for 14 when I'm pretty sure they meant 41, which is the price of a lot of the "clearance" games on the shelf.

i checked out 3 sf bay area targets this week. the only game that dropped was ninjablade from $27.98 to $19.98

all the other and games are stiil $30 or higher. i hope this monday we shall see some games for $9.98.

50 Cent is well worth it at $15 in fact it's a must buy at that price. I thought it was well worth the 30 I got it for. You should grab a second copy and give it to a buddy and play some co-op.

I went back to the Target where I had found Afro Samurai yesterday but it wasn't where I left it (behind M&M Kart Racing). It thought it was gone but I found it on the endcap. As I suspected, it scanned "out of system" but the lady entered the sticker price manually.

I also found what seems to be the last copy of Fear 2 in my area but it scanned at $24.98. I think the only reason it was still there was because it was in a plastic security case and it was untagged. I'll try to do a return/rebuy to get it at the lower price.

Checked out Largo Mall and Clearwater Mall Target's today and though I was only looking at a few games (Riddick - $41.98 at both, HOTD Overkill - $24.98 at both) I did manage to snag 2 copies of 50 Cent BOTS for $14.98 at Largo. There were still about 4 or so left. Also, at least one was marked the incorrect price, but they were definitely $14.98

I got the headset from SOCOM when it came out (and traded in SOCOM- it was cheaper that way). I've really enjoyed it.

Just wanted to say, I thought Fear 2 single player was very enjoyable (I liked it better than Resistance 2). The multi is a complete throw away (there's so much better so why bother). The demo is fairly representative of the gameplay.

So 12.50 or 25 even is a great price if you liked the demo.

Well, once it drops out of the system, the manager can reprice it back to full. I've seen it happen at other stores, never heard of Target doing it but its possible

Actually, Target does it quite often, especially when titles become a new Greatest Hits title or budget title. See Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and Ratchet & Clank PS3 as recent examples.

Picked up Left 4 Dead for 12.48 two days ago. Like some people mentioned, I just looked behind the GotY editions. The guy who opened the case tried to give me the GotY edition that was in front and I just asked for the one behind it.
