This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Went to the one in Kent, WA...got guitar hero world tour (disc only) for the ps3 for 14.98...goood deal or should i wait until it gets clearanced further? i havent opened my copy yet..
 
here's an OT question for those of you out there that grabbed the endwar bundle: i picked one up for the headset (and because i played the endwar demo on 360 and rather enjoyed it). earlier today, i found my old moto h500 bluetooth headset and paired it with the ps3, and it seems to work fine. i haven't yet opened the endwar bundle, so i can easily return it...

is there any reason i would want to keep the sony headset rather than just using the one i already have? any important features or enhancements that make it worthwhile?

The Sony official PS3 headset receives rather high mark in a lot of review websites. Voice quality is excellent. So $22.48 for the headset plus a decent game seems like a good deal.

However, if you're happy with your current headset, you probably won't miss the Sony headset much.

The Endwar bundle is still $44.98 around here. I hope I can catch one when it drops.

You might also be able to sell just the game away for $10 or the headset for $30 on your local craigslist. Instant profit, just keep which half of the bundle you like. I purchased the bundle just for the headset.. well worth it.

I found a single copy in NJ. The only reason why I believe it was still there was it was in one of those acrylic security cases and marked at $29.99, but I had a feeling it would be lower since it had been at that price for awhile.

When I scanned it the price was $12.48. I assume since there was only 1 copy left the Target employee was too lazy to open the acrylic security case to update the clearance sticker.

If stores pull that kinda laziness and that's true than I shall head back down the street to the Target I bought End War from tomorrow. They had around 8 copies of Fear 2 in those plastic cases marked at bout $29.99 or so I don't remember exactly how much, but it was up there so I didn't bother scanning them though to double check, prolly should have. Hopefully they scan at $12.48. :lol:

i'm wondering if this upcoming sale sunday will throw things off since it'll bring new crowds into the game section scooping up stuff b4 the 75% .. that would kinda suck esp since 2 games for $90 isn't the best deal

There was a stack of about 20 at the $14 price at a Phoenix Area (actually Gilbert, AZ) location that I went to yesterday.

Has anyone been able to pick up the Endwar bundle for 22.98 in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area? All the Targets i've checked in are still at 44.

Hey, a fellow CAGer where I live! I've been happy with the Streetsboro Target so far. I lived in Erie, PA before here, and that Target NEVER had any of these clearance deals that are on here. But, the Streetsboro one seems to have had plenty of them so far.

Hopefully we never want the same game from there. :) Or maybe we could work something out on here if that were to happen.
 
Super Target in Massaponax, VA has about 6 PS3 Endwar bundles for $22.48 left as of this morning. Wish it wasn't past the 90 days so that I could return the non-bundled version I bought on clearance for $15 months ago.

Every target is different. In Cincinnati, I go to 3 different targets and they are each different in terms of which items go on clearance and how fast they get marked down. One store regularly marks things down each week or two if they don't sell. The other two will let items sit for a month without marking more than 30%, then they just seem to pull it from the shelves. So it's worth a try, but definintely no guarantee.

My best deal there was a $300 grill I saw while the employee was marking it down from $150 to $75. Then the employee next to her volunteered (without me even asking) that it was the display model so they could take an extra 15% off of it. So I got it for a bit over $50. Well, actually, I had to buy a screwdriver to dissasemble it outside the store to fit it in the trunk of my Camry, but still without a doubt my best clearance find.

I picked up House of the Dead Overkill for $24.98. The sticker said $34.98 but the scanner rang it up $10 cheaper. I know the new regular price just dropped to $29.99, and Amazon has it for a couple bucks cheaper, but I jumped on it for some reason. After tax its only a buck or two cheaper than Amazon's current price, and its still $5 cheaper than everywhere else that would charge me tax. I figure its not going to go too much lower than $25 any time soon, unless its a one day special, because House of the Dead 2 & 3 Returns is still $20.

Someones hidden copy of Left for Dead at the Toms River, NJ store must have been uncovered. It was stickered at $34.98, but came up as not in system on scanner. Brought it up and either the clerk was clueless or try to play dumb so I'd walk away. Held my ground and got it for the last clearance price of $12.48

Which Targets would these be, I frequent 2 in the Cincinnati area and I never see any drops. I see clearance notices on here only to find the game for retail price, or close to, at my local Target. Lowest I ever see anything drop is to about $40.00 before they all conspicuously disappear :cry:.
 
West Seattle Target had several:

PS3 Endwar (with Bluetooth) for $22.48
PS3 Guitar Hero: World Tour $14.98
360 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand $14.98


Northgate Target had a few:

PS3 NCAA Football 09 $14.98
PS3 Guitar Hero: World Tour $14.98

But other titles like HAWX (360), Riddick: Dark Athena (360) and Battestations: Pacific (360) were still $41, and Ninja Blade (360) was $27.

I've only seen it for xbox 360. I don't think anyone has reported clearance on the ps3 version.

Actually, I believe there have been some sighting, although I do not know of the validity of these statements. Of course, I believe it was reported at a higher price as well.
 
Picked up a copy of Endwar PS3 headset bundle for $22 ... read some reviews ... and specific comments about the lack of server support for multiplayer ... looks like it's going back in the morning. Any desperate CAGs in the San Jose area should be able to find a $22 copy of it at the Coleman & Taylor Target sometime after tomorrow morning ;-)
