This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Picked up HAWX from the Mid Rivers Target today.

2 copies of MadWorld are all that's decent that are left--I'm hoping they'll go down to 14.98 soon--Currently at 20.98.
 
found someone's hidden riddick (360) for 14.98. last one left, thought i was out of luck. sweetness. thank you whoever you are!
 
tried to pick up BotS 360 today. scanned at $14.98 a couple days ago, but it rang up out of system today. they offered to sell it to me for the very reasonable price of $41.98. it seems they don't update their stickers for this very reason.

this was Towson, MD by the way.

they can find out what the last price was before it dropped out of system if you find an employee with a scan gun...i had this done yesterday. there was one copy of fear 2 (360) left at one of the targets i went to, and it came up out of system. sticker said $24.98, but when the girl with the scan gun scanned it, it came up as $12.48...so that's what they rang it in as.
 
There are two Endwar bundles left at the Grapevine, TX store for $22.48 as of this post. Not much else worth noting.... Riddick and Velvet Assassin for PC at 75%.

they seemed rather understaffed this afternoon, but I'll definitely try this out tomorrow. hopefully the only helpful person I've ever seen at that store will be there.
 
Just dropped Riddick and Call of Duty 3 for PS3 at NoVa Targets. Riddick is at $29.98 and COD was $20.98. Couple days before I grabbed the last Riddick for 360 at $14.98. I expect that the PS3 version will follow suit. Oddly, they put NHL 09 on clearance and they were all gone by the $29.98 price. Great game but 10 is just weeks from hitting shelves. I would think people would have waited until $14.98 or less. Anyway, that is what I have seen here in the Commonwealth other than the Ninja Blade that went for $29.98 and a couple others.

HL2: The Orange box for Xbox 360 was on sale for 13.98. I couldn't resist even though i'll never have time to play it.
 
Lewisville, TX store has one NHL 09 360 @ $14.98 and two Warhawk bundles at $20.98 as of this evening.

Unlikely. I won't say it's impossible but the chance is very slim. Don't think they will linger for too long since the headset alone costs more than $22.48.

I think it can get another drop (probably to $11.24), but after that it goes to salvage.

Or it can go straight to salvage without another drop, just like most of their clearance games that maxed at the 75% off.

If you really want one, grab it at 75% off. Just don't count on 85% off and be disappointed when they are salvaged before that.
 
Saw Sonic the Hedgehog for 360/PS3 on the clearance rack in Gainesville, FL location for $13.98. No matter the price, don't fall for it, it's a trick!!! The game is terribaddd

If you really want one just buy it. Target has a three month return policy. If you ever find it cheaper just buy it and immediately return the one you just bought with your old receipt.
 
interesting to see about 10 copies of Riddick for $14.98 at the local store. They disappeared a couple of weeks ago and then, bam, there they were yesterday.
 
Just grab the bundle. You can always just trade in EndWar the game for $8.80 (with Edge) which will bring your total for just the headset for like $13-14 bucks.

It depends on my motivation but usually Leesburg, Sterling and Ashburn. I will ocassionally Reston or Chantilly. They are usually pretty good about consistency in their drops but some will just have more copies of games than others. There doesn't seem to be a "best store" as it just depends on the game and the day.

Hell yeah! I snagged one of the bundles strictly for the headset. The headset by itself retails for $50. Like you said I figured I could recoup most of my purchase price by selling/trading in the game.

2 copies of 50 Cent for 360 left after I bought one
1 copy of NBA 09: The Inside for PSP
16 copies of NCAA Football 09 for PS3

I took the last copy of Riddick at $14.98 and there were some Iron Man for 360 out there also. Some clearance was still in the glass cases, but those were pretty much games at their first clearance drop of 41.98.

The 20+ copies of :ps3: Burnout Paradise at my local Target finally dropped to $9.78 last Monday. I bought 2, and returned them on the receipt I had used to buy one for me and a friend a month back. ... so my friend basically bought mine for me, since he paid me for his copy.

Can you buy a game at one Target and do a return & re-buy at another? (to get a cheaper)

My Target is slow on clearance and one that's a little further away is always up to date.
 
Picked up burnout paradise for 13.xx. Are there going to be drops this week? Because there are a few games that I want that are a little too high right now.

geeze..there were gobs more, but I don't remember. it was seriously overload. between the crapload of laundry detergent/moisturizing creams, and the PILES AND PILES of videogames, I couldn't keep it all straight. I got Fear2 and Prince of Persia for $30, though. I think that's a good haul.

Finally, FINALLY snagged the last copy of Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena at a Target in New Berlin, Wisconsin after striking out at one in West Allis for 15. TONS of new games hit clearance, nothing no one hasn't mentioned before but a Waukesha, WI has ten copies of HAWX for 15. Tons of copies of Madworld at 20.98 all over. Pisses me off for jumping the gun so early buying it for 26.50 a few months back having not played it.

Tons of new games pulled today many $20 360/PS3/DS games have been dropped to $13.

All Targets should have clearance end caps (which are at the end/side of all aisles). The games are usually very close to the electronics section. There should be bright red stickers on most clearance items.
