This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I don't know how there would be any copies remaining, after this long.
I haven't seen any, though I've been looking for over a month.

If it showed in the system at all, I'd guess you could probably get it for that price...
If it's not in the system.... probably no dice.

 
found 4 copies of Socom + Headset for $42. gonna wait out for it to be cheaper. Also found 2 copies of MadWorld for $15. tons of other stuff too. This is the Target in Houston. The newer one down on westheimer.

Checked out the Target in Orange, CT (next to Best Buy) and was absolutely shocked at their clearance rack. They must have had at least 60-80 games there (with dupes). Never seen anything even close to that in Rhode Island.

I didn't take note of what titles, but there was nothing of my interest for 360/Wii/PS2. They had the AMV Bowling game for the Wii for $5, but the game is arguably not even worth that. They had a bunch of PS3 games, but I ignored all those.

I guess you and I are competing for a copy of Motorstorm PR. I am also waiting for the magic price of $14.98. I am sure it will drop at some point but the odds are it will fly off the shelf once that happens.

As a FYI if you want Endwar (PS3) with the headset. There were 2 (or 3?) copies at the Flower Mound location on Friday evening and it was 75% off. I passed on it because I am not into that type of game.

Are most people finding Pikmin for Wii on clearance at their Targets?

I see someone every once in awhile say they found it, but I've hit up a ton of Targets in the past week or two and have yet to see it on clearance.

The closest Target has it in the glass case, with old style scanners, so getting a price check is nigh impossible.
 
Saw a Platinum Hits version of Sonic The Hedgehog for :360: currently on clearance for $13.98 at the MErrillville, IN location. Gonna try and wait that one out to snag it at $5.

I saw this too about a week ago. Not a big wrestling fan but wanted to see if it had dropped. All copies (was say about 5) were behind the glass last week, but now were gone. Looked on endcap and in case but they were no where to be found. Didn't think it was such a hot game, shows what I know....

On a side note Guitar Hero 1 on Ps2 still holding at 13.48 and Madden 09 on Ps2 still 15+ copies for 9.98.....Need to check on Madworld.

Eh, not dying to get Motorstorm, but I'd probably buy it if I saw it for $15. Thanks for the heads up on Endwar but I grabbed one at the Grapevine store on Saturday while passing through (there were 2 more left at the time).

I went to go pick up another copy of F.E.A.R 2 (which they were sold out of) and I was just shuffling through the clearance end cap and some dude asks me what game I was looking for. I told him F.E.A.R 2 and he tells me that another store had a few left at 75% off. I dunno, could have been a CAG or just a hoarder. Haha.

Picked up Hawx for $15 finally, but none of the Targets near me have dropped Pacific Rift to $15.

The Target on 59 in like Plainfield still has 2 copies HotD Overkill. I picked one up there a few weeks back for $12.xx

I had no idea Lips was even on clearance. All I've seen was that Disney singing HSM type garbage games they release (Everyone has their own opinion of those games, so no offense to those who like that sort of thing) Better keep a look out next Monday if I have some $ for Lips.

Don't get your hopes up. I only ever remember seeing a couple copies of Lips on clearance, and that was the beginning of June.
 
just wondering, I found 4 copies of the Socom bundle marked for $41.98, so if I wait till next week to pick them up, how much should they cost? Would the next drop be to 50% off so it would be $30 or would it be like $22?

Yeah - most of those will be long gone. I had bought a copy a while back at $24.xx and then returned it. The next day, it was back on the shelf with the $24.xx tag on it. I scanned it and it came up at $12.48... I rebought it. I didn't plan to do a return/rebuy, but $12.48 was too cheap to pass on.

PR made 14.98 finally?


hmmm ima have to check it out..
im waiting for it to be 7.98

do you guys think i should pick up today and not open it for 30 days or just wait a little longer

Almost nothing that starts at $60 makes it past 75% off (Target just stops dropping and eventually gives it to local charities). Buy it if you see it and want it...

Plus I think PR is one of the "holy grail" games right now that a LOT of people are on the lookout for. Unless you have the most deserted Target ever I can't see the games lasting long even at $14.98.

Agreed. I picked up mine at $29.xx to be on the safe side. Plus 50% off is nothing to sneeze at.

may I oughta pick up 2/4 copies that of Socom that I wanted for $41.98 then. was planning to wait out and try to get it on the next pricedrop. Same thing with MadWorld too. It dropped to $15, but I was waiting till the next pricedrop then again someone might go and get them b4 I get a chance.
 
+1 about the PR thing. Pretty much the only game I'm looking to snag and actually keeping it for myself. Well, that and Dead Space.
 
If anyone gets an extra copy of Warhawk, please PM me. I'm buying a PS3 in a month or so and am slowly building up a small list of PS3 games to play for when I get one.

last night while I was at the clearance section, these as this dude talking to me about how his kids are gonna be happy tonight. early christmas for his kids. he got like 15games for his kids. plus a few PS3 games for himself.

The Target in Greenville, NC had a buttload of them last Thursday night. I picked up two copies, one for me and another for my nephews. $7.48 each. Quite sure they are long gone now.
 
It's crazy seeing how many people have been finding Pacific Rift for $14.98.

Plenty of people looking for that in the trading thread (myself included.)

I picked up:
Madworld $14.98
Dead Space $20.98

I'm not sure if I'm keeping Madworld, since I don't have a Wii yet, but it was hard to pass on that price.
 
Just picked up at Target:
:ps3: Socom Confrontation Headset Bundle: $41.98
:pc: Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena: $9.98

I was really happy when I got the Socom bundle (because I have been wanting a headset for my PS3)!
