This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

If you're gonna pick it up for ps3, check out TRU. I picked up my copy for $5
Grabbed Warhawk bundle for $20.98 for the headset. Hopefully I'll like it better than the official PS3 headset.
Bad choice, the Jabra SUCKS compared to the offical headset.
Don't know why some of the clearance prices are higher at my local Target? Spotted a copy of Dead Space (PS3) today but it was $20.98 instead of the $14.98 everyone else spotted it. Would have snagged it if it was the lower price. Fear 2 was still behind the glass at $59.99 here. Wonder if I should have them scan the price on it to see if it's $12.98 reported at other stores?
the majority of people reported it at 20 not 10 for deadspace.

yeah.. you can buy that headset for real cheap online... if ya havent opened might want to take it back
Bad choice, the Jabra SUCKS compared to the offical headset.
Is the one with SOCOM the official one? That one is very nice and SOCOM is on clearance now.

Saw Bionic Commando @ 30% off. Guess I shouldn't be too surprised it's already on clearance. There are very few GHWT guitar bundles out there for 360 so I doubt I get one at 75% off although there are tons of PS3 bundles. Here's the bizarre thing: I saw about fifteen or twenty copies of Star Wars Force Unleashed for 360 at 30% off. This is bizarre because every store I checked for that game after I missed the most recent deal for it did NOT have it at all. No game, no place for it, nothing. Now all of a sudden it's on clearance and a bunch pop up at every store. Not that I'm complaining.
Has anyone been able to find a copy of Motorstorm Pacific Rift in central Texas?
Parmer and I35 had about two copies on Tuesday

Give it a try. I remember seeing Fracture behind the glass marked at retail and came up as $15.

Are we sure the NPC games dropped in price? My store locator says every store has a ton of copies... Well, I guess I can check along with the FFCC.
Er, what? Patapon and Patapon 2 should be $19.99 at 100%. Did you maybe mean Patapon 2 at 50% off, or $10?

Also, Monsters vs Aliens here is on clearance for $35.
ya got me. double freudian sliip? i was going to edit as soon as i wrote it i knew something was wrong. then i took a nap and forgot about it.

psp patapon 2 $10 (down from $14)

I think the headsets that come with the SOCOM and Endwar bundles are the official ones.

Wow you haven't heard of the Orange Box and you picked up Wheelman? Portal (1 of 5 games in the Orange Box) was the best game of 2007 IMO, and it comes with Half Life 2 and the episodes which are some of the best FPS's around. TF2 is still one the most heavily played multiplayer games.

Grabbed the last $12.48 copy of PS3 FEAR 2 at my Target even though I really don't want it. Might swap it here for another game or sell at that price plus shipping to someone. If interested let me know and when I am ready to do something I will hit up whoever hits me first.

i went to my target yesterday (springfield, pa) hoping to pick up motorstorm: pacific rift but instead picked up battlestations pacific for 14.98 which was a pleasant surprise because i didn't think i would see one. noticed that chronicles of riddick for ps3 was marked down to 19.98.

Anyone willing to help a CAG out with a copy of Motorstorm Pacific Rift? Will pay all your costs for shipping and will throw in a couple of bucks for your gas and time.

I will send you a PM! My wife picked me up a copy but I already have too many games on my backlog!

Does anyone have any opinions on Sonic Unleashed :ps3: I played the demo on PS3 and liked it, but I have read so many reviews saying it is so much better on Wii, so I was planning to get it on Wii. However, at basically half price for the PS3 version I don't think the Wii would be that much better. Plus, my Wii collection is huge, whereas my PS3 needs help.

I think my Target still had a copy or two left when I was there the other day, so I'm thinking if it is a good game I might pick it up for $15.

Thanks!

All Sonic games are usually dubbed a shit show just because of the stigma the franchise received in recent years. However, I thoroughly enjoyed Unleashed when I played it for a bit here and there. At $15.. it's probably a steal.
the majority of people reported it at 20 not 10 for deadspace.
Thanks. $14.98 is my limit nowadays as good a game as I hear Dead Space is. Some people reported finding it for that price.

Thanks. I think if the still have it when I go back and it is marked down, I might get it. Don't really need another game and don't want to spend the money on it, but I loved Sonic as a kid, so I always like to try the games now as well. I have 2 games I bought at Target two days ago and I'm debating if I should keep them or take them back, Sonic for $15 has me thinking I may return them... decisions, decisions

Got Henry Hatsworth and Final Fantasy Crystal whatever for DS @ $9.98 a piece. Pretty good prices imo. Last copies of both at my local store.

One store near me had a bunch of Dead Space, 1 Madworld and like 2 FF:Echoes, they were in the clearance sectiion but not cheap, like 20 and 27 for them. But went to another near me and found Dead Space(PS3) in the 360 section for 15!

I found the newest Ben 10 game on sale. None of the copies were tagged, so I don't know the percentage off or the original price. I saw the Wii, DS, and PSP Versions on sale. I grabbed the only PSP one for 19.98. DPCI - 207-20-0334

I also grabbed Price Of Persia for 10$, in anticipation of finally getting a PS3.

- Finally, I find something :)
If anyone can locate an extra copy of MS: Pacific Rift for $14.98 I'll give you $20 for it shipped.
Lets see...

Purchase price: $14.98
Tax: $1.08
PayPal Fee: .88
Bubble Mailer: $1.00
Shipping w/tracking: $2.70
Total: $20.64

I don't think you're gonna have much luck at $20, maybe $25.

Target in Houston, TX @ S. Main has Motorstorm Pacific Rift for $14.98. It's labeled $29.98 but I checked the price and it rang up $15, so I bought one copy. I saw only one left....I was going to purchase it and trade it in at GS, but I called and they were only giving $15 of store credit.

Quick question but I was browsing Target as usual looking for Clearance games. Went to check usual end caps in electronics and no go. I then went to look around the end caps by books/DVDs/music but nothing there either. So where else could their electronics clearance stuff be???
when should the next price drop on Socom be? last week it was $42 and this week it was $30, so I assume next week it should be $15 if it drops every week.
If it hits that point next week I'll jump on it for sure since I know a store with 4 or so copies.

Target in Sun Prairie, WI has a bunch of HAWX 360 for $15 and Dead Space, Resistance, Warhawk PS3 for $13 (maybe Warhawk was $20, can't remember).

I found out about a neat little trick from a Target employee tonight while asking where the hell they dug up 2 copies of XBlades for the PS3 from, since it clearanced already at one of the local stores, but this store never had copies in during that period.

Anyway, they told me(and I paraphrase here): If you buy something on clearance and then return it, it gets bumped up to 50% off and gets an 'as-is' sticker put on it.

This 'trick' may be useful for those of you waiting for the SOCOM bundles to drop in price, as you could potentially return/rebuy after buying one for $41.98(only price I've seen for them).

Only problem is, some stores may wait 24 hours before putting back out stuff that's been returned and restickered with an as-is sticker. This was NOT the case with a copy of FEAR 2 that I bought at a local Target and then returned to a further away one(which already had the 50% pricing in effect making it $12.48 no matter what).

I ended up rebuying it as it was coming from the returns desk to electronics with the new 'as-is' sticker on it.

I wonder if this 'trick' works with new stuff that's returned too or just the clearance items?

That's very, very interesting, they should know better than to tell a CAG something like this  Unfortunately I don't live close to Target so I can't go everyday, so if they didn't return it pretty quickly to electronics I would definitely miss it, though I'm not sure if I would have the guts to do this anyway. If a game I had bought and decided I didn't want and then returned was later found at the discounted price I would do it, but I may feel guilty if I just did it for the fun of it

As far as whether it works on new stuff, I don't know. I know I have read on the boards here where some people returned new games, unopened to Target and they opened them up and put them to be sent back to the manufacturer, so maybe this is what they do now instead. I'm wondering if this is a YMMV or something that all Target's do, it would be very interesting to find out... I don't think I've ever seen a game at Target with an "as-is" sticker, so I'm not sure if my Target doesn't do this, or if I missed it.

Very interesting find, thanks for sharing!

I've seen the as-is sticker on a bunch of stuff(GPS systems, portable HDD's, etc), so I guess they do do it for everything on clearance that gets returned.

If there is nothing wrong with the item it will be put back at the current price. If there is something wrong, opened, or missing something then they will discount it "as-is". Recently I saw piggy banks as-is because the corks in the bottom were missing. A game can't be return once open so there is no chance of "as-is" discount.
What's the original price of Dead Space PS3? I see it's $14.98 in the first post, so does that mean original price is $60?
Target started marking down Dead Space at the $29.99 price point.

Yeah. I called mine before asking to return a game. The manager said it cannot be opened for a return. What you could do is buy it. Open it and exchange it for a new one. The old one might go to an "as is" sale.

Actually, my still sealed and by sealed I mean perfectly sealed(there wasn't even ONE nick in the shrinkwrap)copy of FEAR 2 went from $24.98(price I paid) to $12.48(the price it was at the store I returned it too).

But they DID slap an as-is sticker on it.

I'm willing to try this little 'trick' I was told about earlier today and if indeed it works, I shall exploit it immensely to get the games I want down to the price I wanna pay.

If it doesn't work though, then so be it, since I'll have returned the game and got my money back and they'll still have a product to sell someone else.
