This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Picked up Patapon 2 for $9.98. I forget if this dropped to 9.98 last week or not, but everything else stayed the same. I'm not sure if I'll be able to stop by tomorrow to check prices again.

Edit: forgot to add that the one and only (lonely?) copy of SOCOM w/Headset for PS3 disappeared. I just saw it for $41.98 less than a week ago, but not sure if it really did get purchased at that price. It did look like the stock grew a little smaller from before, though.

The target at 95th and Quivira near Oak Park Mall in Kansas City Kansas had Riddick for $19.99 on the PS3. There were 2 copies, I bought one. It is marked 29.99, but it scans as 19.99.

Poway Ca target is really slow at dropping their prices. They had 8 double guitar GHWT 360 packs for $22.18 and dozens of the SOCOM bundle for $30. They also had 4 peggle dual shots, but they only let me buy one, and pull the rest off the shelf

I was going to check that target out after work yesterday and got a damn speeding ticket in the mall parking lot, lol

figured i'd skip it after that... have to pass on a few to make up for it now =]

I just picked up the last PS3 Socom bundle for $30 & PS3 Prince of Persia for $10 at the McHenry, IL Target last night. I couldn't wait longer for Socom. All the other Targets near me have been $40. I'm cheap, but another $10 bucks wont hurt too bad, right?... I'm still waiting for PS3 Bionic Commando to drop.

Most Targets in big areas (Los Angeles, New York, New York) don't have great deals. I noticed that usually the best deals are out in smaller cities/towns for some reason. May just be nothing, or it could be a pattern?

I'm not sure about that. I live in a fairly large city and I also frequent NYC Targets and I've had great success in obtaining some deals. I guess it's just a matter of luck whether you get the first crack on the clearance games or not.

Wow I just got Peggle Dual Shot for DS, the last copy, at the Clifton, NJ Target. It was marked at $2.54?!?!??? I'm not even going to begin to wonder where they came up with that price. I wasn't even going in for it and just found it and came to post about what I found.

Maybe in the bigger cities shoppers are quicker to jump on clearance sales when prices are $30-$35 than waiting until $15-$20?

Depends on the big city in the Memphis, TN area there are quite a few Targets I frequent 3 in particular and I always find at least a couple of really good deals I bite on lately I have bought and flipped a few copies of games I got at gamestop preparing for modern warefare 2. Specially with the 25% extra trade ins going on. Ill be stopping at them today again checking for Underworld and hopefully a low 14.xx area pricing of Wanted Weapons of Fate found it for 34.98 (360) and 24.98(ps3) at all the targets in Memphis I checked.

stopped by 2 local targets on my way home today, first one didn't have anything good. the second one didn't have anything good on clearance, but i did find a couple copies of peggle for ds to trade in. there should still be some left in the one in linden, nj.

I'm from SoCal, and most of all the games are gone when it hits 50%. I have seen some good deals, but it's rare. Not very often to I see 75% off ($14.xx) titles, unless there is a surplus. My only experience with a 75% off game was Crackdown. There was maybe like 250+ on the clearance rack. I have to be very lucky to even find the title.

Recently, I picked up MotorStorm PR for $30. I'm hoping I can find a copy for $15. It's unfortunate because from where I live, I have about half-dozen Target within a 30 mile radius.

I strongly disagree with this. It really depends on the store and on the game. I regularly buy games for 75% off throughout Los Angeles and San Diego County. The key is to get there no later than Monday evening when the prices drop. I usually go right after work and I have never had a problem finding most of what I want. It also pays to do a little scouting in advance to know which stores have quantities of which games.

I was in Houston a few weeks ago, and went into a Target. The clearance shelf was packed with games at 30% and 50% off, but not a thing at 75% off. I doubt it's the stock, just that there's probably more traffic in bigger cities so you have to be there right around the time they mark it down.

The other finally dropped 360 Legends of Wrestlemania to $14.xx.

My Target sold a ton of PS3 Bionic Commando for $41.98, which goes to show there aren't many bargain hunters in my area who could've just gotten it for $20 at Gamestop.

Went to Target again today and have finally confirmed the Target closest to me officially stinks! They have three endcaps full of games and every couple of days they get a whole boat load of new stuff and add it. However, I've yet to find a game at 75% off mark and this includes games that they have in the store and were dropped some time ago, but still ring up at 50% off (or whatever the drop is before 75%)

I have picked up a few deals there, but have never seen anything under $10. For other games, they seem to be pretty up to date with the drops, but it seems they aren't willing to go to the 75% off mark and they still have plenty of copies at the next drop up.

There is another Target by me, but it takes a lot longer to get to and they never seem to be up to date with the price drops and have a pretty poor selection of games to begin with, but they do eventually drop to the 75% off point, but there is no telling when it may happen. If they were better with keeping up I would probably go to them to get games because at least they lower them.


Does anyone else have problems with their stores not dropping games to the 75% mark? I seem to do fairly well with all the other stores around me, except for Target.

Went to Target at Lennox in Columbus, OH at lunchtime last Monday. There was a gal marking down games in the clearance section. Too bad, SOCOM wasn't dropping from 29.xx to 14.xx and DeadSpace was still 14.xx. I mader her check!

She said usually they drop prices on Electronics on Mondays. But I have seen that same store drop prices on a Friday. So go at the beginning or the end of the week.

I live in SoCal and I have to say that there is about 4-5 that I hit to see what's around. Most times if I find a deal at one it's gone if I come back the next day. I think the reason that a lot of people jump on games here for just 30% is because there's honestly just too many people here and they all want a deal on a game no matter how little it is.

A perfect example was the G11 keyboard. There was a CAG who saw it at one I frequent for pretty much a lot of stuff and by the time I got there someone was walking away with the last one while I saw two or three people in line with them in their arms. all this within an hour of the post.

It honestly just gets nuts out here for games, especially with the ebayers and soccer moms fighting you for games at every turn.

Your spot on about that. if I don't have anything to do that morning or have enough time before classes or whatnot I make a trip to some targets along the way and more often than not I see some deals. It's unfortunate that most of them are for games I already have or not interested in and by the time I get to a comp to post it's already been told at least three times lol
