This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

found a copy of Madworld for 14.98, it was the third target i went to that i found it, although when i checked the DCPI online it said that there weren't any in stock w/in 100 miles of me?
anyways two more copies as of 11am at the topanga target in SFV, CA.

OT: one of the targets i went to today had games at 25% off? is this new, in the past i have only ever seen 15-30-50-75.

Do you still happen to have the DCPI for Madworld I can't seem to find it.
 
I snagged Bionic Commando for the 360 for 7.48...what was odd was the red tag said it was 59.99 and thats a helluva drop in price....

Damn, Bionic Commando was still in the glass case (w/o any clearance tags) when I stopped by Target on Tuesday.
 
Got a nice one today.

Say Riddick for 9.99 when the tag said 19.99.. i jupmped up in happyness and got madworld for 20.09 too (yes i know madworld is 14.99 but fuck it still an awsome deal

I haven't been able to find a thing. It's really disappointing. Especially when you know that a lot of people are just going in and buying multiple copies of the best deals and then flipping them on ebay.

You think so? I've been able to find every game I really wanted. The only thing I havent seen yet is a sub $15 Riddick. But I'm so backlogged now it doesnt even matter.

The Target closest to me doesn't really keep up with price drops and they seem to like to stick at $34.98 and $24.98 forever, even when some of the games drop to $14.98 or under. They usually keep stuff at the higher prices for so long that people will end up buying them at that price before they drop any further, so all the copies are gone.

I was at my Target a couple of weeks ago looking at the clearance games and two guys come, one from each side of me and the clearance games. They basically ran over to the endcap and then started pushing me out of the way and reaching over me and around me to get to the games they wanted to look at. I'm pretty sure their only plan was to flip them on eBay, though I don't think there is any profit in the games that the Target store has. It was pretty funny to watch, after only a few weeks of looking at the Target by me, I could tell they didn't have any great deals, and certainly nothing worth taking the time to sell on eBay and everything, but those guys acted like it was Black Friday and there was a $2000 laptop for $50 on that shelf :lol:

Are Target price universal? Because some of the price you guys mentioned are different here in my Target... will it be different price from the red tag when I take it to the register (to match the price you guys mentioned)?
 
Not universal.
They eventually all drop though, they each have different schedules. Some take weeks longer to get their lowest price.

Thats seems to be out of the drop pattern for Streetsboro. They seem to typically be one of the Monday drop locations.
 
So who cleaned out all the Rock Band 2 copies for 360 in Streetsboro? There were at least 10 behind glass for 24.xx earlier this week. Must have dropped to 12.xx. Could have had something to do with the Amazon trade in deal of the day for 22.00 yesterday.

Thanks. That's actually closer. I'll probably head over there tomorrow. I'm in Akron, so if there's anything you're looking for, let me know, and I'll keep an eye out. I usually check the 2 Targets around here once a week or so.
 
New Berlin, WI had a pretty slim selection. A couple PS3 Dead Spaces at $14. All of their prices seemed to be as low as they should be except Resistance Fall of Man was $20.

All I want is Tomb Raider for the PS3 and I can not find it anywhere.

Found a lone Socom set for $29.98 and bought it.

I know I could have waited but was afraid it would be gone and i figured it was a god deal for the headset anyways.

This is why I will only post a location once I've picked up everything that I want. If anyone does know which area i'm in, they still have to figure out which Target i'm talking about.
 
I officially take back all the bad things I've said about my Target :oops: I ran into the store tonight to grab a couple of things I needed. So, my helpless obsession with deals and games of course pulled me back to the electronics. At this point, I was almost ready to stop going back because they never seem to have anything I want and their prices are always higher than everyone else. But, I go back because I couldn't resist.

So I get back there and see a couple of games I think dropped a little in price since I was there Tuesday, but they weren't games I was watching, so I figured I was crazy. So I dig through all the racks and find Sonic Unleashed :ps3: $14.98 \\:D/ So I start getting a little more excited and sure enough they had drop prices on almost every game. I think, for the most part, prices were the same as others have already listed, but I was just happy to see they finally got to that point.

I ended up getting 7 games (I think, too excited right now :bouncy: ), one of which was a game I already purchased and haven't opened, so I am going to return it. I haven't even taken the games out of the bag, I was just so excited I had to come on and share with everyone. Again, I think all the prices were the same as everyone else, but I will double check nothing was new and if not I will just post in my weekly blog as usual.

I checked Peggle, they still have some in the stockroom, but they are $19.99 and NPC Donkey Kong and Pikmin are still full price, but I'm hoping they may drop soon.

Also, I saw Ghostbusters for PS2 for $9.98, not sure if that is everywhere or not, but I didn't see it posted, so I thought I would let everyone know. Would LOVE to get Ghostbusters for $10, for Wii, 360 or PS3, but you know they would drop it for the system I don't have :roll:

That is how i used to do it,not post the location. I think I need to start doing that again. Go back to posting the more general "Cleveland area Target". Nobody has ever scratched my back in return, so why not. This is especially more prudent with the young pups back at college in Kent.Keep forgetting about that.

I don't have issues getting the items I want, it just bugs me to know there is major hoarder lurking around. So be it.
 
In reading this thread I see that everyone is picking up Dead Space for $14. The Target by me had a bunch of them, is this game really worth it? I'm not much for survival horror unless it is Resident Evil, but if it is good, I mise will give it a shot.
 
I did the same thing w/ Socom + Headset. The BT Headset is awesome. I still haven't unwrapped Socom. I think it is a great deal!

I payed full price for the 360 version and I think it was worth every penny.

You can DL the demo for PS3 on the PSN. I'd bet the Xbox360 would have a demo you'd be able to DL too. I think it's an awesome game and definitely worth the original retail price. I paid $20 a couple weeks ago at Target.

If you're into RE, then you should definitely pick it up, especially for $14. Dead Space is RE done right, practically sucks you in like you're right in the game. Just make sure you turn your volume up while playing.

I keep forgetting that I can download demos and try games out, my PS3 is actually in the mail right now, so I can't download it right this instant, but I will next week. If I enjoy it for 15 bucks, I guess I will have to pick it up.
 
Just Checked tonight at one of my Local Targets in Lincoln NE and found
NHL 09 for 7.48
NCAA Football 09 for 7.48,
MX Vs ATV Unleashed for 9.98 and
Rainbow Six Vegas dropped to 9.98.
Sonic The Hedgehog (not unleashed) for 9.98

I can confirm this deal for the Moreno Valley, CA Target. However, this deal isn't going on at the Corona, CA or Norco, CA locations.
 
Just checked the Target here near Selinsgrove, PA. Only 360 games were two copies of NCAA Football '09 marked down to $12.48.

They did, however, have roughly 50 copies of Need for Speed: Pro Street down to $3.48 for the PS3. That might be an exageration but the majority of racks were just filled with them.

I did find my dad an LED hand crank flashlight a few aisles up in another clearance end for $3.48. The light on it was surprisingly bright. They had another but the switch or something was screwy in it (the LED lit up when cranked but was blinking so chances are it was the power switch stuck in or something). He kept complaining about Target's prices when we'd go, but he finally caught on to the clearance racks hidden in the back end of aisles.

Yes, you do have to send a text message. The little 300 point sticker has an 8-digit code that you text and they text you back with the real Xbox Live code. I tried using Google Voice to send the text first, but it doesn't work. Looks like you have to use a real cell phone. Their may be a texting service out there that could pull it off.

According to the sticker, you have to redeem the AXE code by the end of September and the Xbox Live code by the end of October.
