This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I went to Northgate Target in Seattle today and most of the clearance games were gone! $30 Wolverine, $35 Rock Band 2, $20 Red Faction, $20 Godfather II, 30 copies of Mass Effect, old sports games, random PSP games, all gone. They went from many shelves full of games to only a few titles remaining. The rest of the clearance shelves were basically taken up with old Guitar Hero and Rock Band instruments.

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have sold out of everything there in just two days so I don't know what happened to them all.

Yes and Yes. Although with the second one, you should buy something else or the cashier might balk. Just makes everything smoother. And you can always use something from Target.

My printer ran out of red ink, but didnt think too much about it. then I went to a target and tried to get GOW and NBA live 09 with the coupon...and they wouldnt let me use it!!! so I bought them anyway....then did a return rebuy with a newly printed coupon...and it worked....5 bucks well spent.

SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finally hit an awesome Target here in North Dallas. If anyone lives near Wylie, Texas they have several $15 Wolverines, one $15 Metallica, $30 Wolfernstein, $30 Section 8 and several Great hits games on clearence. PLus they have some of the carelogs in the toy section so if you have no coupon you are in luck.

Picked up a copy of Guitar Hero Metallica @ 14.98 and and L4D2 @ 44. After coupon and tax, total came out to be 52.41. Flipped to GS (with four other games) for 64.13!

Total expenditure: $110.30 for 12 games. Pretty good. After coupons, though, the total was $60.30, or an average price of $5.03 per game. As the saying goes, I'll try damn near anything for $5, though about half of these are going to be Christmas gifts. Epic coupon!! I can't believe I won't be able to use it when Wolfenstein and Ghostbusters drop to $14.98... unless, of course, it magically still works. I'll be watching the thread to see, everyone please post trip reports over the weekend

Well if you check the blog's source, you'd see they took the range on Wikipedia's page and used the highest gross estimate as the definitive number. 7.335% – 10.348% - 22.665% is what Wikipedia states, depending on how closely the school of thought is followed.

By the sound of it, the 22% figure includes people who practice ideas from the religion such as meditation as "Buddhists", seems like a way to pad the numbers, but I'll admit the lowest estimates are higher than I would have guessed.

Has anyone bought Borderlands at Target? My copy has a weird seal on it (as opposed to the standard Y seal plastic). I'm giving it as a gift and am afraid this is one of those "return specials". Can anyone verify whether it has the ridge seal?

You know what? Mine had that as well. I got mine at GS (asked for a new copy) and just assumed that they were re-shrinkwrapping their games to make them seem new. Maybe not.

No drop for Ghostbusters (still at 50% off). The good thing is that several stores still have a good amount of copies at $41.98. So they should make it through Black Friday. Unfortunately, I think Assassin's Creed at $20.98 is a goner.

Several of the Targets in my area (smartly) moved their clearance endcaps waaaay out of harms way before BF, presumably so no one would be tempted to purchase clearance games when in the video game section instead of regular priced / sale games. It'll be interesting to see what ye olde stock checker has to say after the weekend.

Target in Somersworth, NH has Ghostbusters for $40 (?!) and Wolfenstein for $20 (both for 360) in their clearance games.

I was semi-tempted by Wolfenstein, but I just haven't heard enough positive about it for me to try it.

I went to two today (looking for Rock Band Unplugged and picking up some things for the kids.) Both stores had moved the clearance stuff around, but they were both there. I guess it depends on the merch manager at each store.

The "cheap game" aisle was almost cleaned out though. That was crazy to see.

I guarantee you that the few remaining copies of GOW:COO were picked up during the last couple of weeks due to the coupon. You can't beat free. It would have been a Black Friday miracle if you had found a copy.

I'll take a look on Monday and see what damaged (if any) was done to the clearance endcaps at the Targets in my area. I picked up Ghostbusters used at GS (b2g1) using store credit so there isn't much that I'm interested in besides Assassin's Creed.

Still gets you a $60 game for $40 at gamestop... Not bad if you have more trade stuff, either - since the tiered trading is still in effect and (at least in my case) the tiered trading boosts worked on the 20 dollar trades, as well... The 2 skate 2s I traded in netted me 23.xx (the 30% tier)...

Local Target looked untouched from Wednesday, was pretty surprised..! Maybe a couple things missing but most everything was there. Granted it was the same ol' crap that I've passed over for weeks. I wonder if they also hid the clearance games like other stores sounded to have (although that makes NO SENSE, why not try to clear them out before the next drop?)
